12 Hideous Outfits Worn By Celebs In Public

You've all seen the outfits that celebrities choose to wear. The crazy, clashing, and unflattering choices that none of us could believe so-and-so wore out in public… especially when they knew they were bound to be photographed 10 times over. Maybe it was a unique choice and they thought they'd try and pull off something new. Or perhaps it was something so crazy they just wanted to get attention from how absurd their fashion choice was. The fact of the matter is that celebs wearing crazy outfits isn't exactly a new thing - they're known for it. Check out this list of 12 absolutely crazy outfits that we never thought celebrities would have the guts to pull off. Whether or not they actually "pulled it off" remains to be seen, but that doesn't mean we didn't get a good show in the process. Sit back, relax, and take a gander at each of these nightmare wardrobe choices.

    12 Emma Thompson's Wedding Dress

She seems pretty happy, but chances are that that has everything to do with the man she just married in this picture… and nothing to do with the monster of a dress. It's a crazy outfit choice on any day of the week, but why she choose to wear it for her wedding, of all days, is beyond us. Too much is happening, and it's all happening in the same place: on her dress and in his picture. We suggest she tone it down about 12 notches the next time she puts on a fancy dress.

11 Whoopi Goldberg At The 1993 Academy Awards

If Whoopi wanted to get tons of attention, well, she did exactly that with this dress. But she got it in all the wrong ways. This dress has too many colors, too many shapes, and just too much in general. It looks as though the actress threw on a body suit once learning the front of her dress hadn't been finished. We'll give her points for trying… but it seems as though this is one case of just trying too hard. Try again, Whoopi - more than 20 years later, we're not over this fashion adventure trip.

    10 Kim Kardashian

She's got the body and she's not afraid to show it off…  off… generally by wearing a single color from head to toe. We're not opposed to that fashion trend, per say, but when it's been done badly so many times, we can't help but wonder if she'll ever give it up. Too baggy, too tight, too WHAT - Kim's outfits have been all of those things, often at the same time. Hopefully she'll start working toward outfits that flatter rather than continuing these single-colored techniques that are attempting to be cutting edge. We like you better when you're wearing clothes that fit.

    9 Heidi Klum

Apparently Heidi decided she wanted to wear a long dress… after she'd already put on a short one. Then she tied the two looks together with some type of floor-length veil. There are so many textures here, so many layers, and so much yellow. We've never seen a dress be long sleeves, spaghetti strap, floor-length, and long-sleeved all at the same time. It's not a good look for anyone, including one of the most beautiful ladies around. We appreciate you trying something different, but this was not the right move. Not even a little bit.

8 Cher At The 1984 Academy Awards

You know an outfit is terrible when it's still receiving media attention 30 years later. And that's exactly the case with Cher's monstrosity of a dress. This thing has endless straps and chains and a massive headpiece that we can only assume she stole from a Vegas showgirl. In fact, she probably took their entire outfit. No telling how long it took to get in or out of this thing, or how hard it was to walk around in such a large hat. But we do know that the entire look made such an impression that the world still isn't ready for it.

7 Sarah Jessica Parker In 2006

Is it a flannel? Or an elegant gown? Maybe a picnic blanket draped across SJP, like she got cold on a picnic? We aren't really sure what she was going for here, but we are sure that it didn't work. These two fabrics are totally clashing, and it's going to take more than a beautiful lady to pull them together. Instead, they need two ladies to create two entirely separate dresses, then standing on opposite sides of the room from one another so they still can't clash - that's the only way we see this combination working.

    6 Adele

Channeling her inner curtains from the 1960s comes Adele. The amazing singer is not that amazing  when it comes to choosing fabrics for her dresses. Not only is the dress super loud, it's long sleeves and all but eliminates her shape. Is there still a woman under there? We can hardly tell - poor Adele's best features were muddled out and turned into a flowery blob. Oh and the shoes in the same floral pattern might match, but they're matching that whole mess of crazy. So much happening, and not one thing on that long list is good.

    5 Bjork: The Swan

Even if you don't know who Bjork is, chances are that you've seen the swan dress. The outfit that features an entire bird, complete with long neck and feathers. This is what she chose to wear in public, to a black-tie event. This swan dive of an outfit was first seen back in 2001, and we're still talking about the faux pas to this day. We're not sure where she got the idea of wearing an animal as a fashion statement, but it's one we think the world could have gone without. And that no one should ever repeat.

    4 The All-Denim Look

Iconic moment in history or not, the all-jean look is not one that's flattering… or appealing to the eye. First Britney and Justin did it back in the early 2000s - or as we like to call them, the golden years. Then in 2014, Katy Perry did the same thing, almost to a T. And while we didn't actually like it when Britney and Justin did it (but we still accepted it), we really didn't appreciate Katy's copycat version. It was even uglier, and way too soon for a throwback nostalgic outfit. Come to think of it, never will also be too soon.

    3 Rhianna's Weird Dress

Is this even a dress? Or some fancy post-shower robe? She's wearing makeup, but she's also wearing a shower cap, so it seems like she's just getting ready to put on her dress. Right? This outfit is almost completely see-through, I mean, the only difference if she'd have gone bare is that would have been illegal. We're also hoping it wasn't cold wherever she was headed, either. With nothing to cover up with, you can guess she'd have been out of luck staying warm, or retaining any type of privacy whatsoever. Did this dress come with a warning? Because it is not suitable for all audiences.

    2 Miley Cyrus In Foil

Is she a go-go girl? Or something from the future? We can't tell what Miley was attempting to do with this foil-based outfit. It's shiny, we'll give her that. But not very practical, nor is it fashionable in our book. It looks as though she's channeling her inner gladiator, but with a twist of diva tagged along with it. No sudden movements in this "dress" though, or she's likely to show more than she bargained for. Let's hope those silver straps are more sound than they look. But even if they are, we're courting that as the only positive of the entire outfit.

    1 Princess Diana's Wedding Dress

Okay, okay, calm down. We know this is kind of controversial. But just look at the dress. There's enough fabric for four more dresses. How could she even walk with that train? How many people did she smuggle into her reception under that dress? How much more than her did it weigh? We get it, it was the 80s and bigger was better - but this dress is way, way too big. Not only did it have to be impossible to move, it looks almost impossible to wear. We loved you, Di, but this dress is a move we could have done without.
