13 Biggest Hollywood Divas
Like us, celebs have their difficult moments. If you happen to meet one of them on an off-day, it doesn't always mean they're just naughty by nature. Whether they're rude, difficult to work with or just plain nasty to fans on the reg, celebrities aren't always on their best behavior. Up-and-coming stars like Lea Michele and Ariana Grande didn't make the list because they're still sitting pretty in the "rumor" phase but the two mini-divas seem to be quickly following in the footsteps of the following celebs. The take-away for those who hope to make it in show business? Stay humble! These celebs sure haven't learned that lesson and if their bad reputation hasn't caught up with them yet, it probably will in the near future. Here are 13 of the nastiest divas in Hollywood.
13 Christina Aguilera
The actress-turned-foodie is quite possibly the most narcissistic celeb on this list. She's Hollywood's most famous frenemy. She's publicly shamed her supposed friend Beyonce, saying her music is just "okay" and saying Resse Witherspoon only stars in rom-coms for money and status. She's even sent shade toward the annual Met Gala, saying it "sucked" and accusing Anna Wintour of letting in too many commoners. Pretty ballsy. But if you're living up on such a high horse, I suppose nobody is off-limits, even the Queen of Couture.
11 Jennifer Lopez
The actress may have starred as girl-next-door children's book author Susan on Desperate Housewives, but her costar Nicollete Sheridan called her "the meanest woman in the world." Whoa! Apparently she was pretty difficult to work with. The rest of her coworkers must have felt the exact same way because her name wasn't on the cast's goodbye card to the crew on the final day of filming.
9 Mike Myers
Advert your eyes, Austin Powers lovers! This one's going to be a shock. According to Reddit user SteroidSandwich, film crews avoid making eye contact with the actor as he tends to be “moody” and “uncooperative” on set. This claim has been backed up by his former coworkers who have revealed during interviews that he can be “arrogant” and “controlling” toward those he works with. Well, what a total bummer! With the amount of talent this guy has, it's a shame he's not super fun to be around.
8 Ben Stiller
This one makes me so sad. According to another Reddit user, Ehzranight (and a bunch of blogs written by movie extras), the comedian is whiny, demanding, and pretty terrible to work with. He's basically the closest thing to a stereotypical male actor that you could imagine. He apparently yells at the crew for being too slow and for making his coffee wrong (not enough sugar, apparently). A recent Howard Stern interview alleged that Stiller was always rude to family friend Joan Rivers and never even said he was sorry before she died.
7 Rachael Ray
The seemingly sunny and chipper Food Network star apparently has a dark side. Apparently she didn't get the memo that you should treat your staff with kindness and respect, because several audience members have witnessed her demean her employees in-between takes. There's been talk that attending a taping of her show is a complete nightmare. According to Reddit user ShaneEnochs, Rachael is also a “real monster” to the help as she's been seen around town treating hotel staff very rudely.
6 Kayne West
When the President insults you, well, it's probably time to re-evulate your personality. Kayne seemed to mellow a bit after the birth of his first kid but apparently that's just not in the cards for the singer. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know his infamous SNL backstage meltdown and his crazy entitlement issues. Who would actually think they could interrupt an award show and insist that his fave artist should have won? His Twitter rants don't exactly help his case, either -- even though he often says he's sorry, he turns right back around and behaves badly once again.
5 Mariah Carey
The diva certainly deserves the World's Most Selfish Person award. She brought the concept of egocentric to a whole new level when she decided to give in to her jealousy rather than do what's best of her kids. She even refused to sing to a terminally ill child, whose dream it was to hear her sing, because it was "too early" in the morning and she's fired countless nannies (and some of them have even sued her).
4 Russell Crowe
Nothing is worse than a super selfish parent, but Russell is one of the male actors on this list who shows us the real meaning of diva. He's got a quick temper, gets in fights on the reg, is known to threaten movie producers, and has even insulted people on Twitter. His most infamous moment? Throwing shade at George Clooney for his recent work in TV commercials, saying that the Sexiest Man Alive is a sellout. Ouch!
3 Mel Gibson
This one's a given, I know. The anti-semite was outed by Jewish police officers for going on drunken rants including tons of hate speeches. It has also been proven that Gibson is at least emotionally abusive to one or more of his romantic partners. There are countless tapes floating around of him flipping out, and it really does sound like he could use some mental health coaching. But since treating others with respect is apparently not high on his priority list, this is yet another superstar who is definitely fading into obscurity.
2 Val Kilmer
This is a prime example of what can happen to a talented actor with a bad attitude. The 90s It Guy has such a bad rep in Hollywood that he actually stopped getting hired. His behavior is so bad that almost every director who has worked with him has gone on the record saying it wasn't a great experience. Joel Schumacher, the director of Batman Forever, even admitted the two got into a pushing match. But even that embarrassing incident didn't stop him -- he said he's only difficult with "stupid" people.
1 Christian Bale
Yes, we know that this method actor lashes out at the crew and allegedly assaulted his mother and sister. But there's so much more to talk about. This star is so mean and insensitive that he even makes little girls cry. Apparently when they interrupted his meal and asked for an autograph, that was just too much for the actor, and he had to lecture them about being "rude" and "intrusive" until their parents pulled them away as they cried. But that's not even the worst of it: when Bale opened a fan letter that was mailed to him, he actually told his publicist that the guy should be "eliminated." He added: “Better to be safe than sorry. A screwdriver thrust thru the eyeball into the brain prevents any screaming. Let me know how it goes.” Um, what? There you have it! Probably the worst of the worst.
