13 Celebrity Couples You Need To Stop Looking Up To

Celebrities in general are always all the rage. They influence people like crazy from their looks, their fashion, their net worth, and even their drama. But one of the biggest influential parts of celebrities are their relationships. Fans can't get enough of whom their favorite celebrity is hooking up with.

Sure, there are some celebrity couples who are nice to look to as a good example of what a relationship should be about. Some of those awesome couples include Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, or Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan or Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. These couples include individuals who have been successful on their own career paths, decided to share with each other, and the best part is how they like to keep all of their accomplishments on the down low. You might not know it or believe it but just because they don't flaunt it, doesn't mean they don't have it. They have all the success they've earned, they just don't shove it to our faces.

That brings me to ask why do people obsesses over these other celebrity couples who love to flaunt everything in front of our faces. That includes their “love” for each other. They get a million likes on social media, and the news is always on top of them as if we haven't had enough of them. When you subtract all of that, you only get their relationship and when you see clearly what their relationship is all about, it's really not much. It's the media that makes a huge deal out of them and for what? Unfortunately, there are people who actually look up to these couples.

Take a look at these 13 celebrity couples you need to stop looking up to because they're not all that like they are portrayed to be.

13 JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers

All these Bachelor couples usually turn out the same and even if they don't, the fact that they're willing to literally compete for love on a show says a lot about them as individuals. Besides how they meet, why are they so popular? They're just reality TV personalities that the media loves to blow up for publicity and attention. Even if they do have a nice, valuable relationship together, the attention they get isn't valid for who they are. It's rather too much for just being on a reality TV show that's about looking for love. You can hear the name JoJo Fletcher and her relationship with Jordan Rodgers though all the time on your TV screens and online because people just can't get enough of the bachelorette. The fans of the show get crazily obsessed with the contestants during the show and the aftermath for the pure entertainment. As far as the significance of the relationship, there's not much to look up to.

12 Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

Kourtney won't be the only Kardashian you see on here. For some reason, fans of the Kardashians get so excited when they hear news about these two getting back together. Kourtney and Scott Disick have had a rollercoaster relationship especially since they've welcome three adorable children into the family. If you have watched their reality TV show, you've seen the ups and downs this couple has gone through. Now you can keep up with their drama on the news. Although lately it's quite obvious that these two cannot keep a relationship with each other, they're still a popular couple everyone can't get enough of. Like said before, their fans get excited when they hear they're possibly getting back together yet again. If I were them, my excitement levels would have gone down by now if they were “working things out” for the millionth time.

11 Selena Gomez and The Weeknd

This is a brand new couple in the making and everyone can't wait to see what's in store. Selena Gomez was single then suddenly was seen canoodling with The Weeknd who was newly single after breaking it off with Bella Hadid. The R&B singer and model were together for a few years, keeping their relationship a low profile but the couple decided to split last year and their fans were devastated. But their split wasn't as surprising as when we first heard the news of Gomez and The Weeknd hooking up. The two singers seem like they're not even sure of their relationship status so how can people be crazy about this item already? It must be their reputation because a relationship doesn't even exist at the moment. Is it a trend now to be in an unofficial partnership? If so, then we can see why they are so popular already.

10 Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna

When these two got together, the whole Kardashian fanbase went mayhem at first but then grew to like the controversial pair. Rob Kardashian is the brother of Kylie Jenner who is dating Blac Chyna's ex-boyfriend and father of her son, Tyga. It's all a really big mess. The two became parents of a daughter last year and people went even crazier because now the whole family circle got even more awkward. But once again, the couple has a huge following and fanbase because of all the tension and drama that surrounds them, not really for their loving relationship. In order to make up for their lack of relationship, they'll start playing games with everyone on social media just to get attention. They have broken up a few times and created such unnecessary drama throughout it all and yet, people love keeping up with this Kardashian relationship.

9 Leonardo DiCaprio and Nina Agdal

At this point, Leonardo has hooked up with, dated, been with almost every model on the planet. So when word on the street is Leo got someone new and she happens to be a model, it's easier to just flip the page because there's really nothing new there. However, because it's Leo, of course it's hard to not care. Nina Agdal has been linked to the movie star since last July and the two have been keeping a low profile on their relationship. Not only the fact that Leo is dating another model is annoying enough but the things they do is no different from his past relationships. Those things include activities like jet-setting from the Bahamas to Montauk to Malibu. Just a regular relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio. Perhaps the only thing this relationship brings are only in everyone's dreams so in a way, it is inspiring but that's pretty all Leo's relationships bring to the table.

    8 Rihanna and Drake

Fans were going crazy when they heard that Drake and Rihanna were finally an item. Their lowkey relationship was ongoing for a while with rumors of Drake trying to get with the Barbados sensation. So when the two decided to go a little more public than the usual, the media and the fans went crazy and could not hold back their excitement. There were memes created about the two, and news about them even though it wasn't really news. Unfortunately, this item did not last and they eventually went their separate ways. Yet, there was still buzz about the two. Nothing unique was happening between the pair except what almost everyone goes through and that's being in an unofficial relationship. That's really why people looked up to them because of their non-traditional relationship. Other than that, everyone made a bigger deal than what it really was. Even to this day, both of them are still an item and there's really no significant reason why.

7 Taylor Swift and Everyone Else

That's right. At this point, do people still take Taylor Swift's relationships seriously? If you look up to them then it says a lot about the quality of your relationships. The pop singer is known for her love songs that describe her personal love life. Her career pretty much explains how her relationships go and that's not exactly a good thing. It seems like the singer is used to having drama in all her relationships including trust issues, low self-esteem, cheating, suspicions, and more. Does all of that sound like something a real relationship of quality would consist of? Didn't think so. Yet, for some reason, any time Taylor Swift is on the news for the new guy she is dating, her fans go crazy about it and want more. It doesn't make sense how these types of relationships are looked as examples of a nice couple. It must be because of her fame and depending on how famous her new man is.

6 Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin/Sofia Richie

Basically anyone who gets with Justin Bieber after the whole Selena breakup is really not that serious. So when Justin was seen out and about with Hailey Baldwin then Sofia Richie, some people were over it but majority (mainly his fans) went bananas and started following these girls on their profiles because they wanted to know what they were all about. But at the end of the day, these JB relationships are always the same with nothing much to offer except drama and looks. Sure these girls are nice to look at and it wouldn't be surprising if that's the main reason why people like following them. But that's not exactly a good thing to look up to especially when it comes to relationships. Their relationships with the pop star usually end up at a popular LA lunch spot then possibly at a nightclub that same weekend then suddenly the fling dies out. So what exactly is there to look up to or to like? It's understandable if it's just for entertainment purposes but if it's for serious relationship purposes, then there needs to be something done about this.

5 Kim Kardashian and Kanye West or Kimye

The majority of people who look up to these two are pretty much just loyal fans of either Kim or Kanye. When they got together, they all united forces and created this huge fanbase of the couple. This is where the name “Kimye” came from. People look up to these two for their fashion sense and their overall fame. Sure they have good taste and have a good network in fashion but the truth is, people make too much of a big deal about them. Their love for each other seems genuine and passionate but they just love throwing it all over social media. The news is even worse. They are always in the news, and for the dumbest reasons. It's all about attention when it comes to Kim and Kanye and basically that whole family so we wonder how they would be if they weren't getting all of this attention. Would it make them lose their pride over their relationship? I wouldn't be surprised.

4 Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony

At the end of the day, anyone paired up with Jennifer Lopez, kind of like with Taylor Swift, is not a celebrity couple you should be looking up to. But we mention Marc Anthony because this was her most serious relationship, considering they have children together and continue to run into each other. Most recent, the two were seen shamelessly giving each other a kiss on stage in front of millions of people when really, Marc was married. About a month later, his ex-wife wanted a divorce. We don't blame her. Of course, J-Lo was getting a lot of criticism for being a “homewrecker” and adding to her bad reputation with dating. Despite all the hate, the singer continues to be hopeful in the love department. We can give her that for not giving up on love but sometimes we think she just needs a reality check and realize she needs to do something serious in order to finally pursue the right relationship. Before the whole Marc Anthony debacle, she was on and off with Casper Smart, yet another pair that people love to know about but they have no reason to. Sorry J-Lo, but you really need to get your love life together or perhaps just stay a single mother because all these ups and downs just make you look like you're not girlfriend or wife material.

    3 Beyonce and Jay-Z

You might find this shocking because who doesn't want to be Beyoncé? Like that saying goes, "be yourself, unless you can be Beyoncé." But just like a bunch of other celebrities, these two are so mainstream that people love making a big deal out of them. It can get too much sometimes. When people make a big deal about Jay-Z and his Queen, it almost sounds like there's nothing wrong with the couple and they forget they're just regular human beings like all of us. They come off as this super perfect couple where nothing can't go wrong so when something does seem to be going wrong, it's either made up or the world needs to stop and keep up with their problems. The biggest drama surrounding the hip-hop mega-couple as of yet was when rumors began spreading about the rapper possibly cheating on Bey but the media was keeping their eyes wide open about a possible publicity stunt. Why would Beyoncé need publicity anyways? In the end, the couple remains together and happier than ever, expecting twins this year. The whole cheating scandal came about probably because their relationship was portrayed as so perfect that things were getting boring and they needed to spice things up by adding drama into their life. Their relationship can come off as sort of “fake” in a way proving why they're not exactly a worthy couple to look up to.

    2 Kylie Jenner and Tyga

Probably even worse than Kimye, people can't get enough of these two; one being a rapper and the other being a social media star. Kylie and Tyga started their relationship in 2014 but they were friends before. So when everyone heard that the two were actually becoming a thing and more than friends, it became the talk of the town. One of the main reasons why was because Kylie was under aged at 17 while Tyga already had a son at age 26. Fast-forward to Kylie being legal, the couple has continued being the talk of the town but for all the wrong reasons. It gets nasty. As you probably know, Kylie's older brother Rob Kardashian started dating Tyga's ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, Blac Chyna. There are plenty of sources out there covering this topic but that's really all these two bring to the table; drama. So why do people look up to them? Well considering they're always on social media, flaunting and teasing about their relationship, how could people not know about them? But looking up to them? There's really not much to look up to except weird and awkward drama.

1 Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber

Although these two pop stars have been broken up for quite some time now, they have become one of those celebrity couples we can't seem to break apart. There will always be “Jelena.” Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber first started dating back in late 2010. The two were seen together a few times without ever letting everyone know they were an item. Even before they confirmed their relationship status, fans of both Selena and Justin went crazy and couldn't believe that these two were hooking up for some reason. Finally when they decided to go public with their romance, everyone especially their fans could not get enough of the two. Fast-forward, the couple broke up then got back together then broke and then got back together for a little. In other words, they were on and off for a while, confusing these obsessed fans. This obsession was pretty much about their on and off romance, not so much about them being an actual couple going out. That's just sad if you ask me. Why look up to a couple that can't make up their minds about being together or not. Just like a lot of these other couples, the obsession comes from their fame, not so much about the quality of their relationship.
