Teen Mom is one of MTV's most iconic reality shows. The spin-off of 16 And Pregnant follows the lives of a group of teen moms like Farrah Abraham, Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer, and Maci Bookout. Even though the moms are no longer teens, the show keeps pushing out the drama. From struggling relationships to custody disputes to substance use scandals, it feels like the show has covered it all. The following 13 moments were the worst to ever be shown on Teen Mom. Since the cameras show the REAL lives of these families, none of the drama is scripted! Some shenanigans have unfolded right in front of the cameras, while other times the dirt is dug back up at reunion specials and during interviews. 13 When Farrah Got Her Mother Arrested

Farrah has been a consistent source of drama on Teen Mom, especially when it comes to her complicated relationship with her mother, Debra. The former teen mom and her mother's relationship has always been contentious, and nothing proved this more than when Debra was arrested for assaulting her daughter. Cameras filmed Debra physically assaulting her daughter when, during a heated argument in a car, she slapped Farrah in the face. But things escalated even further during a fight shown on the first season of the reality show. Farrah and Debra were arguing at home, and it got so bad that Farrah called the police and had her mom arrested. The arrest report said that, after they were fighting, Debra grabbed Farrah by the throat. When Farrah tried pushing her away, her mother hit her. Though the incident wasn't caught on cameras, Farrah has discussed it in interviews and later episodes.

12 When Amber Went To Jail For Assaulting Her Baby Daddy

Amber and Garry seemed to have a very toxic relationship, even after welcoming their daughter, Leah, back when they were teenagers. They never seemed to get along, and their time together usually escalated into full-blown arguments. Needless to say, it was only a matter of time before these two parted ways. But this didn't happen without a very epic finale. In one of the most jaw-dropping scenes in Teen Mom history, cameras caught Amber hitting Gary which became a domestic assault incident. At the time, Amber had been dealing with mental health issues, anger issues, and substance abuse. Her fiery temper was on full display when she hit Gary in the heat of the moment and then tried to push him down the stairs. Although they tried to save their relationship, Gary and Amber called it quits soon after. Amber opted to serve time in jail and to seek help for her substance abuse and mental health issues. These days, Gary and Amber have other partners and are co-parenting a lot better than they have in the past.

11 When Jenelle Lost Custody of Jace

Everything Jenelle has done on Teen Mom has been shocking, but it was her actions that caused her to lose losing custody of her eldest child that is some of her worst behavior. Fans could always tell that Jenelle was a party girl, but this didn't escalate until she met Keiffer Delp, with whom she would enter into a destructive relationship. She ended up becoming homeless and developing a serious drug problem in a short amount of time. Cameras constantly showed Jenelle trying to get her act together by going to rehab and breaking up with Keiffer, but she always went back to her old ways, usually failing drug tests and getting back together with her boyfriend. This eventually led Jenelle's mom, Barbara, to convince her to sign over custody of Jace over since she couldn't provide a stable environment for him. To many fans' surprise, Jenelle willingly signed the documents, and her mom has had custody of her son ever since.

10 When Maci Briefly Quit The Show

Maci sent fans into a total panic when word spread that she was quitting the show. The drama all started when Maci learned that Farrah would be re-joining the cast. In 2013 and 2014, MTV only produced two “special seasons” for Teen Mom rather than a complete season. Farrah was not involved with these. At the time, Farrah entered into a highly publicized career in the adult entertainment world, which included several tapes. But, when Teen Mom OG brought back the original four girls, Farrah joined the cast. The other girls weren't happy with the addition for obvious reasons. Maci, in particular, said she didn't want her son on a show that had an adult star on it. At one point, Maci said that if Farrah was invited back, she would leave the show. Luckily, the producers were able to convince her otherwise and still add Farrah back to the cast.

9 When Exes Chelsea And Adam Had A Pregnancy Scare

Fans have seen how horrible Adam has been to his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea, and their daughter, Aubree. He has called their daughter a "mistake" on camera and appears to be less involved in her life as the years pass. That's why fans were surprised to learn that, in an earlier season of Teen Mom 2, Chelsea and Adam weren't only hooking up, but they also had a pregnancy scare. In a reunion special, Chelsea revealed the two had been sleeping together, despite the fact they'd been broken up for a while and Adam had just gotten another girl pregnant. Chelsea didn't seem proud of her actions and was hesitant to discuss the pregnancy scare they had. The two hadn't been using protection, and Chelsea became worried she was pregnant again, although it was a false alarm. Fans couldn't imagine Chelsea having another child with such a deadbeat guy, so everyone was relieved that it was only a scare.

8 When Matt Lied About How Many Kids He Has

Fans were thrown for a loop when it became public knowledge that Amber's new partner Matt lied about the number of children he has. Right off the bat, Matt began stirring up controversy. The couple has an almost 20-year age difference between them, Matt is a recovering addict like Amber and wasn't sober when he met her, and they met on Twitter, supposedly after Matt reached out to a variety of Teen Mom stars to get their attention, including Jenelle and Farrah. All of these facts made it hard for fans to warm up to him in the beginning, yet it was the information revealed after his introduction that made things even worse. Matt initially said he had two kids with his ex-wife, but Gary later surprised Amber with documents that prove Matt has at least seven children with four different women. Even worse, he doesn't pay child support for all of them, and several of the moms are suing him. This was enough to make all fans agree that Matt is a creep. All of this was news to Amber, but she has continued to stick by her man. They are currently engaged and planning their wedding.

7 When Catelynn and Tyler Became Step-Siblings

Many fans forget that Catelynn and Tyler's parents were once romantically involved. That means the now-married couple used to be step-siblings while they were still much together. Their family situation at home was one of the main reasons Catelynn and Tyler decided to put their daughter, Carly, up for adoption. Both Catelynn's mother, April, and Tyler's dad, Butch, were abusing alcohol and drugs at the time. This brought the unlikely pairing together. Eventually, April announced that she and Bruce were planning to get married, which would officially make Catelynn and Tyler step-siblings. In the end, things between April and Butch didn't work out, though they're both pretty amicable with each other since they share a granddaughter. April eventually went on to marry someone else, and Catelynn and Tyler married each other.

6 When Jenelle Tried To Hide Her Third Pregnancy

Jenelle Evans has become infamous for her poor choices and lack of parenting skills. She has struggled with substance abuse and maintaining custody of her children, so fans were shocked when they learned about her third pregnancy. Before the news broke, Jenelle already had two kids with two different men, sons Jace and Kaiser. Due to her lengthy troubles with the law, Jenelle didn't have custody of her oldest son and was also fighting for custody of her youngest child. She still didn't seem to have her life together or be very stable. But Jenelle is infamous for moving quickly in her relationships, and that was true of her latest romance with David. 5 When Leah Had A Substance Scandal

While most of the teen moms have seemed to be doing better in recent years, Leah isn't one of them. She dealt with two failed marriages and being a young mother of three little girls, one of whom has a debilitating illness. But things really started going downhill after she welcomed her third child, Adalynn, with her then-husband, Jeremy. After her third pregnancy, it turned out that Leah began taking medications for her anxiety. Leah also began changing on camera, often appearing disinterested or spaced out. There was one scene where she appeared to doze off while having a conversation with her brother and holding her niece. This all led to the public suspecting Leah was dealing with a drug problem. While fans began noticing the changes in her demeanor, Leah denied them for a very long time. Things escalated when her former husband, Corey, and his wife confronted her about it. Corey revealed people had been coming up to him saying she had a drug problem. Leah eventually broke down and decided to go to a rehabilitation center for several weeks, though she claimed it was for mental health issues, not substance abuse. Since returning, she appears to be doing much better.

4 When Kailyn Revealed Her Third Pregnancy

Kailyn has two sons with two different dads: son Isaac with her former beau, Jo, and Lincoln with her ex-husband, Javi. Fans saw Kailyn's marriage to Javi disintegrate on the show. One of the biggest reasons for the failure of their marriage appeared to be the fact that she didn't want more kids and he wanted a big family. After suffering a devastating miscarriage, Kailyn told Javi she didn't want any more children, which caused a huge rift in their marriage. But nothing was more shocking than Kailyn announcing she was pregnant right after she and Javi's divorce was finalized. She later told the media she only didn't want to bring more children into a failing marriage and though this pregnancy was unplanned, it was wanted and the child was a “miracle.” Kailyn has since confirmed the baby's dad is her friend, Chris Lopez, but it's unclear how involved in his child's life he will be.

3 When Leah And Corey Cheated While He Was Married To Miranda

One of the biggest scandals in Teen Mom history came during another reunion special when Leah subtly referenced the fact that she'd cheated with Corey while he was married. Leah and Corey share twin daughters, Aleeah and Ali, who they welcomed after only a few short months of dating as teens. The two were briefly married but separated and went on to marry other people. Corey married a woman named Miranda, with whom he has one other daughter, named Remi. During the episode, Leah said to Miranda, “And where was he during your first few months of marriage?”, insinuating Leah and Corey had been hooking up when he and Miranda were still newlyweds! This isn't Leah's first time being the other woman, as she admitted to cheating on Corey both while they were dating and married. That's enough drama to tear any family apart. But luckily the adults assured cameras that all the drama was water under the bridge, and they were focusing all their energy on getting along and co-parenting. We hope that's the truth, for the children's sake.

2 When Kyle and Maci Broke Up Because He Cheated

Fans thought Maci had found "the one" when she started dating Kyle. Maci had previously been engaged to her son, Bentley's, father, Ryan Edwards, but their relationship fell apart soon after she had their baby. Fans wanted to see the feisty redhead with a guy that finally treated her right, and Kyle seemed like a good contender. He was great with Bentley and Maci quickly moved in with him. They even began talking about having their own baby and getting married. But Kyle quickly proved that he wasn't much of a Prince Charming. At a reunion show, it became clear that the couple was no longer together. Maci said it was because she discovered Kyle had been talking to and seeing other girls behind her back, which caused her to call off their relationship as quickly as it started. Kyle denied it ever went anywhere physical with the other girls, but Maci made it clear she felt too betrayed to go back to the way things were. Luckily Maci has found the one in her current beau, her husband, Taylor McKinney.

1 When Adam Didn't Take Aubree To The Father-Daughter Dance

This was definitely one of the most heartbreaking scenes in all of Teen Mom 2 history. Adam has always been very uninvolved in his daughter Aubree's life. Cameras have shown that even Aubree has begun to notice her father's lack of involvement in past years. In the most recent season, Aubree's school was having a father/daughter dance. Chelsea let Adam know about it and gave him all the details and he assured her that he would chaperone Aubree. But, to no one's real surprise, Adam failed to pick up Aubree on the night of the dance. He didn't even offer an excuse about where he was or why he couldn't be there. Chelsea's then-boyfriend (and now husband) Cole ended up stepping up and taking Aubree to the dance. Since he began dating Chelsea, Cole has been a positive male influence in Aubree's life and has been seen making up for where Adam slacks. We're so glad Aubree has such a great stepdad to look up to!
