13 Reasons Why We Are In LOVE With The Beckham Family
41-year-old Victoria Beckham first rose to fame in the 1990s with the pop group The Spice Girls, together they had four UK Top 10 singles and as a solo artist her hit Out of Your Mind reached Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. Now over the past 10 years, she has worked hard to establish her own fashion label and she has quickly become an internationally recognized style icon and fashion designer. Her self-titled Victoria Beckham label was named designer brand of the year in 2011.
Her husband, 40-year-old David Beckham, is a former soccer star who has played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain, and the England national team. In 2004, he was named in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players. In 2003, he signed a $160 million lifetime contract with Adidas. Others brands he has worked with have been Armani, Pepsi, Breitling, H&M, Burger King and Samsung. Together the power couple have their own fragrance line and their joint wealth is estimated at $600 million.
However, their greatest achievement has been raising one of the most adorable families in the world. Their three sons 17-year-old Brooklyn, 13-year-old Romeo, and 11-year-old Cruz all look almost identical to their father. Then there is the youngest, 4-year-old Harper who is already making a name for herself as the cutest tot in showbiz. What is there not to love about this family? Here we look at just why we are obsessed with the Beckhams and can't get enough.
13 They Know How To Poke Fun At Each Other
David Beckham trolled his son Brooklyn hard before Christmas last year. The 16-year-old had just started his own Instagram account, most likely after being granted permission from his parents, and he posted a special video message for his fans saying excitedly, "I've just reached a million followers!" Before his funny father popped his head into the shot and bragged: "I've got 52 (million)!" Take that Brooklyn - you've got a long way to go in becoming the most famous Beckham with parents like these.
On another occasion, Brooklyn updated his Instagram posing in a vintage Ralph Lauren sweater. Only for David to comment: "That's my jumper!" This is one family who just love to wind each other up.
12 They Always Celebrate Achievements
There was no way Victoria Beckham could present her Fall 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week without her whole family there showing full support. Right on the front row, her three sons, daughter, and husband watched the entire show proudly. David told the MailOnline, "'It's amazing, she's amazing. I'm very, very proud of her." Sweetly Victoria replied, "David, you inspire me every day. You support me. You make this possible. I adore you and our children." Awww - can they both just adopt us now?
11 They Value True Friendships
In celebrity land, it can become quite a hard task trying to keep up with who is hanging out with who. Not for the Beckhams - they make friends for life. At David's 40th birthday party in Morocco, they snapped this group shot with fellow Spice Girls (who Victoria first met 20 years ago) and Eva Longoria, who they have known for 10 years since first moving to L.A. They are also best buddies with Gordon Ramsey's family, who has four kids of his own, as the fellow Brits have known each other since first meeting 12 years ago. That's like 120 years in Hollywood-years.
10 They Are Super Talented
Not only are David and Victoria super successful in their own right, it also appears their sons are not far behind. Romeo has already modelled for Burberry in a campaign alongside Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Naomi Campbell. For Brooklyn, he has landed a soccer scholarship, photographed a shoot for Burberry (although he was behind the camera) and appeared in the music video for Wake Up by The Vamps. All this is quite amazing when you consider they are both still in high school. Having natural talent is just another trait you inherit when born into the Beckham family.
9 They Have The Most Enviable Lifestyle
The Beckhams work hard - but there's no denying they also like to spend hard. Victoria has a collection of over 100 Hermes handbags valued at $1.5 million. David has a vast collection of luxury cars including a Porsche Turbo, two Rolls Royce, a Bentley, a Range Rover and a Cadillac Escalade. They have also recently bought a new $40 million home in Holland Park, London, so Victoria can live close to her flagship fashion store. Then when they want to unwind, it's a luxury holiday in the Maldives staying in a private suite costing $12,200 a night. To them - that's just spare change, darling.
8 They Know How To Give Back
The Victoria and David Beckham Charitable Trust helps provide wheelchairs to children in need and these fundraising efforts led David to be assigned as UNICEF Ambassador. In 2007, he traveled to Sierra Leone and said of his trip, "We can't turn a blind eye to the tens of thousands of young children who die every day in the developing world mostly from causes that are preventable." In Sierra Leone, one in four children dies before reaching their fifth birthday. Saving these children's lives is a top priority for UNICEF and as an ambassador I hope I can help to draw attention to this issue across the world." The couple have also raised $185,500 for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). They are the perfect example of always giving back.
7 They Fully Support Each Other
The Beckhams turned out in force last year to support Romeo as he ran the annual London marathon. He made it over the finish line with agonising tears in his eyes but hopefully the "Team Romeo" t-shirts all his family were wearing helped him smile again. The marathon is one of the biggest events in the city and Victoria waved a "Run, Romeo! Run!" banner. Romeo managed the juniors race, which is three miles (4.8km) long, in just 18 minutes and 54 seconds and raised $8,500 for charity. The Burberry model has obviously inherited his father's athleticism and his mother's charitable ways.
6 They Are Always Very Well Behaved
A neighbor of the Beckhams told the Daily Mail, "They were always polite and friendly, their children are well-behaved and grounded, and they made every effort to ensure the whole Beckham 'operation' didn't interfere with daily life in our quiet street. David didn't even complain when our new ten-week-old bull terrier puppy bit him. He said to the little monster: 'Aren't you sweet?' before it nipped his hand and jumped up to lick his face."
It is well-known in showbiz that the Beckham children are very polite and well-mannered. Even supermodel Heidi Klum mentioned how much of a pleasure they are. She told Closer magazine, "(Victoria) has the best behaved kids in the world. When we go to all their birthday parties, each of the kids writes handwritten thank-you notes on their own headed paper. None of the other kids do."
5 They Are Always Dressed To Impress
There is just no denying that the Beckhams are style Gods. Here in this fashionable family snap, they all appear perfectly dressed in tailored suits and with little Harper in an adorable crepe frock. Harper was named by the New York Times a "street style star." Then during New York Fashion Week, a fan-blog popped up online focused just on Harper's style. Yes, really. When Victoria heard of the blog she told the Times, "I suppose it says a lot about the world we are living in today. And yet it doesn't surprise me. Harper is incredibly chic and wears some incredibly sweet things. She's a very stylish little thing with her own sense of how she wants to dress. She tends to choose exactly what she wears herself." Follows in the footsteps of her parents then.
4 They Are Real Pet Lovers
Coco, the Beckham bulldog, gets a fresh manicure from Victoria in this adorable snap. Only last year they added a spaniel named Olive to their family unit. Olive would have been introduced to their shar-pei Barnaby and second bulldog, Scarlet. That's one precious pooch per child. The new extension on their London home is currently undergoing a $5 million renovation process. We can only assume there will be the grandest garden for these four-legged family members to roam in.
3 They Always Cherish Memories
If there is one thing the Beckham family has taught us over the years - then it's to always cherish the memories. Last year, David did just that when he had a new tattoo on his finger that simply said "99." This was a special nod to the year 1999, when he married Victoria, enjoyed a historic treble achievement with his soccer team Manchester United when they won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, and Brooklyn Beckham was born. Quite often David and Victoria post #throwback snaps on their Instagram looking at the times gone by and it's just so sweet.
2 They Have The Best Instagram Accounts - Ever
If you aren't already following the Beckhams (David, Victoria and Brooklyn) on Instagram then you should do so - immediately. One of their most recent snaps from Easter showed David sewing a tiny doll dress for Harper. It wasn't until his 40th birthday last year he officially joined with a snap of him in bed captioned: "Good morning and hello! It's great to finally be on Instagram, been a long time coming but I can't wait to start sharing all my special moments with you. Looking forward to a great day with friends and family x" The post hit 1 million likes in less than a week, proving Beckham either in bed or sewing for his 4-year-old daughter is all we want to see.
1 They Are Truly In Love
This week, official papers revealed that David had stepped down as director of Victoria's fashion label. This decision was made so he could concentrate on building his own brand, yet the real truth didn't stop the rumor mill going into overdrive with divorce stories. Since 1998, when David proposed with a $200,000 diamond ring, they have proven that their marriage just becomes stronger with each year. Three years from now, they will be celebrating twenty years together proving they are and always will be the ultimate #relationshipgoals.
