14 Celebs Who Have No Clue Their Fame Is Ending

It's pretty easy to become famous nowadays, at least, for fifteen minutes. However, fifteen minutes of fame has downgraded to about fifteen seconds. With 24-hour news cycles and short attention spans, one day you could be the most talked about person on the internet and the next day, you're old news. Why? Because here's the thing about fame: it's fleeting. Becoming famous isn't the tricky part. Staying famous is where it gets difficult. Relevancy is a lucrative attribute that celebrities are all desperately trying to attain on a daily basis. Why else do you see so many celebs scrambling to get to red carpets, A-list events, and the top trending topic on Twitter? They just want you to notice them and talk about them and they don't care if what you say is good or bad. They live by this code: there's no such thing as bad press.

However, there are some celebs that haven't managed to keep up with the changing trends and they don't realize that no one cares about them anymore. Usually when this happens to a star, they either disappear completely or they appear on Dancing With the Stars or pretty much any reality show or game show with "Celebrity" in the title. However, there are some stars who still think that they're totally relevant. These are the stars, for whatever reason, did not get the memo that their fifteen minutes of fame are almost up.

    14 Blac Chyna

Without the Kardashians, we wouldn't even know who Blac Chyna was and that's because her only claim to fame is being Tyga's baby mama and Amber Rose's best friend. Without the Kardashians, we wouldn't have Kylie Jenner and that means we wouldn't even know who Tyga was because his only claim to fame is being Kylie's boyfriend. So without the Kardashians, Blac Chyna would have been a total nobody. Her biggest claim to fame, however, came in the form of Rob Kardashian. After ten weeks of dating, the two were engaged and a month later she was pregnant. She was a hot topic for a good bit of 2016 and even got a reality show (Rob & Chyna) out of the deal. There were talks that when she got married she wanted to change her name to Angela Kardashian which Kris Jenner would never allow. After breaking up and getting back together too many times to count, the two split ways and everybody got tired of hearing about them.

    13 Nick Viall

Nick Viall has been desperately clambering to make his way onto The Bachelor for years since his first appearance on season 10 of the The Bachelorette. He then weaselled his way into the 11th season by showing up to the one of the group dates and asking the bachelorette (Kaitlyn Bristowe) if he could join the show and she said yes--the two even ended up getting hot and heavy before he was eventually rejected. His bad boy reputation came to a close as he began his redemption arc on Bachelor in Paradise. He left the bad boy persona behind and he played the part of a changed man with a good heart. Then he finally became the Bachelor and found "love" at last. After his stint on The Bachelor, he went on to Dancing With the Stars which is the only viable option for a Bachelor star. Nick still thinks that we care about what he's up to but we really don't. Unfortunately for him, there's nowhere he can be now but out of our collective memory.

    12 Miles Teller

After starring in Whiplash, Miles Teller had his chance to rise to prominence but he squandered that chance with every role he chose afterwards. His first mistake was appearing in Divergent then with That Awkward Moment and then again with Fantastic Four then War Dogs and finally, Bleed For This which nobody even saw or even heard about. To make matters worse for himself, he has followed in the footsteps of many "up-and-coming" actors before him by getting arrested for public intoxication outside a restaurant. That's not a good look. It's bad enough when a beloved celebrity thinks he can get away with anything but it's somehow even more distasteful when it's a celeb who most people couldn't even name. Miles Teller has been given more than enough chances in Hollywood and he is definitely on his way out but he doesn't appear to have gotten the memo just yet.

    11 Camila Cabello

Though you may not be able to name all of the girls in the group, Fifth Harmony, they have been incredibly successful which is pretty impressive considering most of the girls are in their early twenties or younger. However, it's hard to go wrong when you have Simon Cowell in your corner. The problem is that none of the girls exactly stand out in the group which makes it pretty unbelievable that one of the gals has already left to make her own music. Camila Cabello is only 20-years-old and she decided she had already outgrown her girl group and was going to try to make it on her own. She has a killer voice (all the girls do) but the Cuban-American powerhouse is not exactly memorable. The fact that she thinks she's well-known enough to make it on her own proves that she overestimates her star power and she is going to be pretty disappointed when her album drops later this year.

    10 Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl first made it big when she landed a role on Grey's Anatomy which, at the time, was one of the highest-rated series on broadcast TV. She then starred in her biggest film to date, Knocked Up which garnered her a lot of attention and star power. However, she squandered her good standing with fans after she stated that she thought the film was gender biased along with some other remarks. Though it's true that the film is biased towards genders, her comments didn't help her career much. After Knocked Up, she starred in a long list of romantic comedies including 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth, and Life as We Know It. Though she has tried to switch gears in regards to her career by starring in serious dramas such as State of Affairs and Doubt but both shows were cancelled and her latest movie was Unforgettable which was one of the worst movies of 2017 so far. She is still holding on to the bit of fame that she accumulated from her role on Grey's Anatomy and she is now paying the bills with her kitty litter commercials.

    9 Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea built her career on the appropriation of black culture and this is also the reason for her downfall. Though "Fancy" might have been your summer 2014 jam, it's doubtful that Azalea will ever have another equally big single again. Since she made her way into the mainstream, it has become extremely clear that she is, at the very least, problematic. As pointed out by The Daily Beast, "the 24-year-old Aussie doesn't do much more than mimic the identifiably black spitting style of the American South." The fact that she sounds like she's ranting gibberish when she "freestyles" has also brought her a good deal of derision. Though she has become commercially successful for her ability to mimic black artists, she is definitely not getting away with it though she probably thinks that she is. At this point, her career is heading downhill and when her fame finally fades away, she won't even see it coming.

    8 Katy Perry

Katy Perry is, arguably, the most famous person on this list but she is definitely on her way out and here's why. Katy's first hit was "I Kissed a Girl" which turned her into a full blown superstar and although it definitely capitalized on gay culture which is a big problem considering she is heterosexual, the song is still a total banger. In fact, her album One of the Boys had quite a few songs that topped the charts and her albums Teenage Dream and Prism were also very successful. Recently, however, she has truly fallen out of favor because of her cultural appropriation (like that time she gave a performance dressed as a geisha), when she said that she wasn't a feminist, and her petty feud with Taylor Swift. Considering the fact that none of the songs on her new album are hits, it looks like her career is going down.

    7 Farrah Abraham

There are a few thirstier celebs out there than Farrah Abraham. Her claim to fame was her appearance on 16 and Pregnant and then went on to appear on Teen Mom. Farrah has tried everything to stay relevant including a music career, pasta sauce line, and a scandalous attempt at becoming a "film" star but superstardom has eluded her. After plenty of drama and three chest augmentation surgeries, Farrah may think that she has what it takes to be a superstar but she falls very short. All of the makeup and nose jobs haven't helped her appearance at all, unless she's trying to look more terrifying. The worst part is that she thinks she's a huge a star but it's been ten years since she's been 16 and pregnant and her glory days have come to a close.

    6 Chris Brown

Chris Brown destroyed his career the moment he assaulted Rihanna and even those who still stood by him began to fall away as his bad character only continued to show itself. At one time, he had everything going for him and he threw it all away and expected that to not follow with him throughout the rest of his career. After his girlfriend Karrueche Tran filed a restraining order against him after he allegedly tried to kill her, he became a total pariah. He went on to create more music but his career never recovered completely from the domestic violence case in 2009 and it doesn't look like it ever will. Though he somehow has a studio album that is set to be released in July, it's doubtful that it will be successful considering that most people can't listen to his music without remembering what a horrible person that he is. Good riddance.

    5 Jonathan Cheban

Here is yet another celeb who wouldn't be famous without the Kardashians. Famous, however, is a generous term for Jonathan Cheban whose only claim to fame is being Kim Kardashian's annoying friend on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. He has designed jewelry, created an unsuccessful TV show, opened a fast food restaurant, hosted red carpet pre-shows, and created an entertainment/lifestyle website. However, none of these ventures have worked out well for him. But the worst thing about him is that he thinks he's a huge star. Even Martha Stewart went to Twitter to ask Daily Mail if they knew who he was. "do you know this guy?? He says he is well-known" she tweeted in one of the greatest tweets in history. Not only does he looked like a Ken doll that was put in the microwave, he also goes around telling people that he is well-known. Sorry, Jonathan, but you're career is going down.

    4 Caitlyn Jenner

Speaking of celebs who only became relevant because of the Kardashians, Caitlyn Jenner is another celeb making money from Keeping Up with the Kardashians appearances. Though Caitlyn (formally Bruce) was a successful Olympian, it was unlikely that she would ever see the fame she once saw many years ago. However, due to her appearances on KUWTK, she managed to stay relevant. However, it was her announcement that she was transitioning and her subsequent Vanity Fair cover that launched her into a whole new world of fame. However, this was all short-lived. As much as we all wanted to see Caitlyn thrive, she has made a big blunder when she announced that she was supporting Trump in the 2016 election. She has not been shy about her conservative beliefs but these beliefs do not sit well with the majority of the trans community considering that conservative politicians don't generally support the LGBTQ+ community at all, especially not the trans community. However, Caitlyn still thinks she's a big celeb though her fame will not last very long.

    3 Frankie Grande

The number one problem with Frankie Grande is that he doesn't actually do anything and his only claim to fame is that he happened to be born into the same family as Ariana Grande. Besides being a Grande, he has performed on Broadway and he has appeared on Celebrity Big Bother. However, Celebrity Big Brother, which airs in the UK, generally includes American "celebrities" on the show to be the bad guys which is also the case with Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. The fact that he's a 34-year-old YouTube star should tell you exactly the pseudo-celebrity he is. The biggest problem with Frankie is that he obviously mooches off of Ariana's fame without doing anything serious himself. He even performs covers of his sister's songs on his YouTube page. His fifteen minutes of fame are totally up and he has no idea.

    2 Jaime King

Apparently the way to weasel your way into relevancy is to become a part of Taylor Swift's squad although considering her squad is made up of dozens of ladies, it can't be that hard to do. T-Swift seems to collect squad members like trophies. However, there are tiers of the Taylor's squad, the top being Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and Lorde, while the lowest tiers are Sarah Hyland, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jamie King. Though Jamie has had a successful modeling career that she attempted to turn into an acting career (which didn't pan out) the only thing that keeps her relevant is her friendship with Taylor even though they're 11 years apart in age and at totally different stages in their lives. Still, it's good that Jamie has a friend but it seems to be going to her head. She is definitely not as famous as she thinks she is Jaimie Presley since they both share the same first name and blonde hair and absurdly high cheekbones.

    1 Rita Ora

Rita Ora had everything that an aspiring star could hope for: beauty, talent, and Jay Z. However, Rita has never been able to get her career off the ground even though she has done everything: sing ("Black Widow"), act (Fifty Shades of Grey), host (America's Next Top Model), and judge (X Factor and The Voice UK). She has appeared in countless commercials and ads (Skullcandy, Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola) and has designed clothing for Adidas Originals. However, she has just never managed to break into superstardom even with Jay Z as a mentor. In 2016, however, when Beyonce released Lemonade, there were rumors that it was Rita Ora who was "Becky with the good hair" even though she definitely was not (though she wishes she was). She is the number one subject covered by The Daily Mail so that is probably why she thinks she's a lot more famous than she actually is. If her next studio album doesn't do well (judging by her single "Your Song" it probably won't), her career is unlikely to recover though she will still probably be hosting British reality shows regardless.
