14 Celebs Who Raised Their Kids Vegan

It's no secret that celebs like to look good. They spend tons of time and money on stylists, designer clothes and jewelry, and of course, working out. But they want to feel good, too, and in recent years celebs have gotten really into the whole healthy living thing. They do yoga, drink green juice, and explore different ways of eating. Being vegan or vegetarian or buying exclusively organic foods have become increasingly popular lately, and experts back in 2014 believed that more and more people were shelling out for organic rather than conventionally-grown food. Here are 14 celebs who are raising their families in a vegan, veggie or organic way.

    14 Kristen Bell

The adorable Veronica Mars star was totally committed to the vegan diet for a while, but now she's become vegetarian instead. She and her equally adorable husband Dax Shepard have two sweet kids but they aren't crazy strict about the kids eating veggie, too. Kristen has said that her children definitely include fish and chicken in their diet, but she's 100 percent into them eating healthy stuff, so it's safe to say they're probably all about all organic, all the time.

    13 Bethenny Frankel

The Real Housewives Of New York star decided that her daughter Bryn should be a vegetarian -- at least for now. She told Us Weekly that her kid still enjoys milk and cheese but if when she grows up she decides to follow another healthy lifestyle, that's totally cool with her. It definitely sounds like Bryn enjoys a pretty awesome, healthful diet. We wouldn't expect anything less from the Skinnygirl star -- she clearly has always been into healthy living and eating.

    12 Alicia Silverstone

This list wouldn't be complete without perhaps the most famous vegan celebrity of all: Alicia Silverstone. The Clueless star hasn't kept her vegan lifestyle a secret and has even penned a cookbook The Kind Diet. So it's not a huge surprise that she's raising her family in a vegan way. You might not want to do too much research into how she actually feeds her son, though -- you might lose your lunch in the process.

    11 Nicole Richie

The reality TV star turned mom and designer thinks that raising her family on organic food is super important. She has told the press that her husband Joel Madden sometimes takes her kids out for junk food like pizza, and she tries her best to be cool with it instead of freaking out. But we get the feeling that she's into all organic, 24/7 and would probably prefer that pizza never happen.

    10 Kourtney Kardashian

It makes total sense that a Kardashian would be into the organic lifestyle since, of course, they can definitely afford it. Kourtney is super into cooking and cares a ton about the ingredients she's buying and using to create her healthful recipes for her family. She's also said goodbye to gluten, which pretty much goes with the organic territory.

    9 Rachel Bilson

You loved her on The O.C. as the super charming and adorable (and fashionable) Summer Roberts and now she's a mom to Briar Rose. Such a beautiful name, right? She's super into eating healthy and organic and is all about veggies -- especially ones from her own garden that she grows herself.

    8 Kristen Cavallari

The former Hills star is now a mom and totally devoted to the organic life. She claims she's really serious about checking the ingredients in the products she sees on the supermarket shelf, and she raises her kids completely organic. She is anti-GMO and cares about high-quality food.

    7 Carrie Underwood

The country music star is basically vegan… and vegetarian, too. How is that possible? Well, before she got pregnant with her hockey hubby's baby, she followed a vegan diet all the way. Then she decided she should add in some non-vegan stuff (eggs, cheese, milk) in order to be as healthy as possible when knocked up. It sounds like she keeps wavering between being all vegan and just veggie, and like she can't really make her mind up either way. We get it -- pizza is pretty hard to say no to and give up forever.

    6 Madonna

Apparently the legendary pop star is all about organic when it comes to what she puts on the table for her children. The way that she eats has gotten a ton of media attention, which makes sense since, of course, this is Madonna that we're talking about. The diet that she follows is known as "macrobiotic" and it includes a ton of vegetables. It also involves a ton of whole grains and experts have even said that this way of eating is better for you than the much talked about Paleo diet.

    5 Natalie Portman

The Garden State and Black Swan star is pretty well-known for being vegetarian, and she hasn't changed her ways just because she's now a mother. Now the only difference is that she's a vegan/vegetarian combo. Confusing? Well, here's how she does it: when she's chilling at home, she's all about the vegan lifestyle, from cooking to even baking. When she's not home, she lets the strict vegan stuff go and will eat veggie stuff.

    4 Julia Roberts

Looks like the amazing and legendary actress is beating a lot of other celeb moms when it comes to truly eating organic: she's actually got her own garden. Can you get any healthier or more organic than that? Probably not. Sounds yummy -- and super convenient, too. You probably save a ton of money at Whole Foods, too, which is always a good thing, no matter how rich and famous you are. It's called Whole Paycheque for a reason, right?

    3 Alanis Morissette

The Jagged Little Pill singer has always had that healthy living aura about her. You picture her as a total hippie who meditates all the time, does yoga on a daily basis and lets stuff go instead of getting super angry (besides channeling her anger into her music, of course). So it makes sense that she's recently made the transition to a completely vegan diet and is absolutely loving it. She loves actually feeling good and awake every single day, and credits the way she's eating now for that positive change. She's currently pregnant with baby #2.

    2 Jessica Alba

You could probably guess from the fact that Jessica Alba started a company called The Honest Company that the actress is into super healthy food. She told Fitness Magazine that she's not into a ton of processed food and enjoys keeping things organic. She's super into kale salad (like every other celebrity -- and human being -- on the planet, really) and likes stocking up on produce. She's got two adorable kids -- Haven is two-years-old and Honor is six -- and is definitely raising them the healthy way.

    1 Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth is totally the Queen Of Healthy Food. She's written three cookbooks to prove it (all gorgeously photographed -- and full of gorgeous photos of her, too, of course). Her daughter Apple is vegetarian, but Gwyneth has been quick to point out that she never forced Apple to eat that way -- it was totally her own doing. She definitely subscribes to the belief that you should buy and eat organic food and we basically picture her making daily (or even twice-daily) trips to Whole Foods.
