It's never too early to start thinking about Halloween, aka one of the greatest days of the year. If you're famous, it's even better. Name a celeb and you can find a pretty inventive and interesting costume. Seriously, these celebs put so much time, effort and money into their costumes, it's kind of unreal. The last few years have been no exception, and the competition has been stiff. Halloween is the one time of year that we all get the chance to reveal our wild side, and it seems like celebrities really embrace that. From hot to scary to funny, there have been lots of brilliant celebrity Halloween costumes, and no one avoids dressing up. You can see everyone from reality TV stars, as well as models, pop singers and even WWE wrestlers dressing up in costumes. Heidi Klum is known for always making a big effort at Halloween and her robot costume a few years back was totally amazing. Last year, she won Halloween with her amazing Jessica Rabbit costume. She wore the costume for her annual Halloween bash that was held in New York City, and we have no doubt that she was the best dressed there. The 42-year-old Project Runway star went all out with her costume, which even included prosthetic eyelids, as well as a fake chest and butt to give her Jessica Rabbit's infamous curves. Heidi apparently spent days in prosthetics, and she uploaded regular pictures of the process to her Instagram feed, hinting at her costume. However, most people assumed she was going as Kim Kardashian or Amber Rose. Oops. However, they were all proven wrong when they saw the final result. Heidi was clearly Ms. Rabbit, one of the main characters in 1988 movie classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Much like Heidi Klum, Katy Perry is known for her creative and original Halloween costumes. She always seems to choose funny over hot, and because of that her costumes are always memorable. Like when she dressed up as a Cheeto back in 2014. Most people thought she would never be able to top that costume (after all, it was pretty brilliant) but she did a year later when she dressed as a mic. For 2015, Katy dressed as a microphone, and she even recorded herself doing a mic drop (which was basically just her falling over), which she then uploaded to Instagram. This costume is seriously hilarious, as well as unique and kind of adorable. We love the fact that she always commits to her ideas, and let's face it - she couldn't possibly have found a better costume; she uses microphones way more than the average person does. Bravo Katy, you did it again!

We always love looking at Neil Patricks Harris's Halloween costumes, mostly because they are always a family affair, which is seriously cute. Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka have been going all out costume-wise with their adorable children, Harper and Gideon, since 2011, and their costumes seem to get better every year, with 2015 being their best yet. Last year they chose to go with the Force, and the whole family dressed up as Star Wars characters. In an action filled shot that he uploaded to Instagram, the How I Met Your Mother star dressed as Obi-wan Kenobi and his husband dressed as Han Solo. The pair looked amazing, but the kids looked even better: Gideon was playing the role of Luke Skywalker and Harper was an adorable Princess Leia. The photo was captioned “A long time ago, in a Halloween far, far away… ” We can't wait to see what they wear this year!

Last year was Kylie Jenner's first Halloween as an adult, as the star only turned 18 last August. This might be why she chose to go for two costumes: she went as a Snow Princess, which was pretty average and generic, and also as a Warrior Princess, which was far more eye-catching and original. The star wore a super hot outfit that seemed to be inspired by the TV show Xena: Warrior Princess, and it revealed some serious skin. She wore a skimpy warrior costume with an armored bustier, arm protectors, and shoulder pads, along with a long skirt that had a hip-high slit in each side. Hey, if you've got it you may as well flaunt it, and, well, Kylie definitely has it. She uploaded a picture of the outfit to her Instagram feed, captioning the picture “My ninjas.” In true celebrity style, she had recruited a few friends to be the sidekicks to her costume. Next to her there were three women dressed in black and red costumes, complete with swords.

11 Kendall Jenner

Kylie is not the only Jenner to make our best celebrity Halloween outfit list, as Kendall also pulled out all of the stops for last year's Halloween. The cheeky model decided to dress as her close friend and mentor, Chanel fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Kendal Jenner managed to make her costume hot and stylish. The stunning model wore an impressive white wig with dark sunglasses to re-create Karl's classic look, as she headed to a party at Bootsy Bellows in Los Angeles with a friend. She added a glam feel to the look with a silver, sparkling white tuxedo bodysuit by Shady Zeineldine, and she even enlisted one of her friends to dress up as Karl's famous cat Choupette. She took to Twitter that night to show off her costume, captioning the picture “Lady Karl last night.” Kendall looked amazing, and we love how she went for a fashion-themed costume.

If you follow Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Instagram, you already know that he is a very funny guy, and you may not be surprised by his seriously brilliant Popeye costume. He shared a picture of his costume on Instagram on Halloween, captioning the picture: "Never buy a costume that says 'One size fits most. #PissedOffPopeye #CostumeNeedsToComeInSilverbackSize #CornCobPipe #LooksMoreLikeACrackPipe #HappyHalloween.” Honestly, we are a little surprised that he did not wear this costume any sooner. When you have muscles like the Rock, it makes sense that you would dress up as Popeye… and look amazing while doing it. While the costume did not fit perfectly, it is still the perfect costume for him, and he certainly does not need any extra spinach to help him muscle up. We can't stop thinking about a live-action Popeye movie, starring Dwayne in his epic costume… it would be one of the best movies of the year.

9 Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea wore one of the best Halloween costumes ever in 2014 after her disagreement with Snoop Dogg. A few weeks before Halloween, Snoop Dogg compared Iggy to Marlon Wayans from 2004 movie White Chicks, which was obviously pretty mean of him. However, Iggy had the last laugh when she decided to dress as Marlon Wayan's character."Happy Halloween," Azalea wrote on Instagram while posing next to her friends as the memorable movie character. The "Fancy" rapper looked amazing, from the long blonde wig to the denim-on-denim outfit ensemble. Iggy is clearly happy to have a joke at her expense, and in the process, she managed to make Snoop Dogg look like a bit of a douche. We love how she had fun with the insult, and she definitely won that online argument. Later, Snoop Dogg apologized for his behavior. We like to imagine that this costume had something to do with his apology.

8 Vanessa Hudgens And Austin Butler

We love a good couple costume, especially when worn by one of the cutest couples ever. In 2015, Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler amazed us when they dressed up for Halloween as Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) from Pulp Fiction.Vanessa looked beautiful in a white button-down oxford that she left open to show off her lace bra. She teamed her top with a pair of black skinny pants and pumps, but the best part of her look was her accessories; a black wig and a cigarette. She looked exactly like Mia Wallace. Austin also looked gorgeous with a low ponytail and a form-fitting suit. This couples costume is perfect in so many different ways: it's easily recognizable, super hot, and really easy to recreate. We can't wait to see more couple costumes this Halloween, but we don't know if the Pulp Fiction duo can be beat.

7 Ryan Reyolds

Ryan Reynolds is a hilarious man, and most people agree that he was the best actor for the role of Deadpool. Maybe that is why this costume is so brilliant. After filming Deadpool, the gorgeous actor stole the costume from the film so that he could wear it on Halloween. It's hard to imagine that the directors were too annoyed. After all, this is exactly the kind of stunt that Deadpool himself would pull. Ryan admitted that he stole the Deadpool suit in an interview with Marie Claire, saying that he deserved to take it after waiting so long to wear it. "I loved wearing it and I have run away with one," said Reynolds. "I'll probably get into trouble for saying that, but I've waited 10 years to do this movie so I'm leaving with a f--king suit." It's difficult to argue with that logic, and we are sure that he made the nights of all the adults and children who saw him.

Tyra Banks is known for her legendary modeling career and being one of the judges on America's Next Top Model. After last Halloween, she was also known for being seriously good at dressing up. She wore one of our favorite Halloween costumes last year when she dressed up as billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson. Branson runs lots of different companies, including a successful worldwide brand, and it became clear that Tyra looks up to him after she dressed as him for the Friday edition of her chat show FABlife. The 41-year-old model transformed into the blonde, bearded owner of British Virgin Atlantic Airlines - she even wore a goatee beard. She was nearly unrecognizable in the picture that she uploaded to Instagram, with the caption; “Some look up to their heroes. I become mine. Guess who!” It wasn't hard to guess because she was even wearing a Branson-esque outfit, complete with an open collared shirt and a dark blazer.

Liv Tyler was pregnant last Halloween, so she would have been forgiven if she chose to forget Halloween. But she decided to have a little fun with her pregnancy. She attended her son's school Halloween dance and she decided to dress up by wearing a bun in the oven costume. The daughter of Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler looked absolutely gorgeous, and her costume was seriously cute too. She posted a series of pictures on Instagram documenting the night, and she seemed to have a great time with her nine-year-old son Milo. The pair even went to a restaurant, and she kept her costume on. We totally understand why because it actually looks pretty comfortable. We wonder if her costume this year will come with an adorable mini-costume for her baby? Either way, we can't wait to see her Halloween costume this year; we are sure that it will be just as fantastic as her 2015 Halloween costume.

4 Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres had an idea for a brilliant costume after Nicki Minaj came on her show while wearing a very revealing outfit. Nicki wore a little black jacket that was mostly unbuttoned to reveal her cleavage… and she just about avoided a wardrobe malfunction. The outfit inspired Ellen to dress up as Nicki, and the results are hilarious. Although it looks like her assets were on display, it was actually fake breasts. She paired the eye-popping jacket with fitted leather trousers and a gold belt, just like Nicki. Ellen greeted the audience by saying, “'Happy Halloween! Welcome to my Halloween Extravaganza! Let me start by saying, my eyes are up here. This year I decided to go as something really scary - half naked. Of course, I'm Nicki Minaj. Nicki was on the show a few weeks ago. Her shirt was not. She took my show from a PG rating to a Double D.” Hilarious and slightly scary, this is the perfect Halloween costume.

3 Joe Jonas

We all love Zoolander. It is just impossible not to and it is such a classic film. Joe Jonas wore an amazing costume for 2015 when he dressed as fictional supermodel Derek Zoolander… and apparently, Ben Stiller found out about the outfit. "Ben Stiller recognized that I was dressed as him and gave me some love on Twitter," Joe explained. "And I saw him, for some reason four days later, after Halloween, and he was raving about the fact that I was dressed as him… I made him proud." He was even DJ-ing Heidi Klum's Halloween party when he wore this costume and he stayed all night looking like that. We love how he did that all night… and he definitely had a pout that Ben Stiller would be proud of! Imagine a pout-off! We would have loved to have attended that party and seen the hilarity go down firsthand.

2 Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift got into the Halloween spirit when she wore the cutest costume of the year. She dressed up as two mythical horse breeds: a Unicorn and a Pegasus. The Grammy winner wore a full fluffy outfit that looked seriously adorable (and comfortable!), and it even came with a large horn and wings. She posted a picture of the outfit to Instagram with the caption; “Cause, darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a PEGACORN. #HappyHalloween!” The costume is actually a reference to a skit she did with Jimmy Fallon when she dressed up as a Pegacorn in NYC. She wore the comfy white onesie as she did press for her new album, 1989, during the Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show. The singer is known for her modest style, and she clearly decided to skip the typical Halloween look. When you're as cute as Taylor Swift is, you don't need to go for a super hot look -- she looks just as good in a onesie!

Gigi Hadid went for a classic costume for Halloween in 2015, but she caused some confusion first. She was spotted out early in the day wearing a pair of fuzzy green ears, and the media speculated about what her costume would be. She actually revealed her real costume later that night, when she arrived at Heidi Klum's Halloween party dressed as Sandy from the 1978 movie classic Grease. She fully embraced the old school look, curling her hair in an 80s style and wearing shiny spandex high-waisted leggings. She even wore a pair of red sandal heels, just like Olivia Newton-John did in the final scene of Grease. We love her whole outfit, and we always love a new take on a classic costume.
