15 Disney Prince Lookalikes Who Are WAY Hotter
It's kind of the dream, isn't it? To take your most beloved and adored Disney Prince and bring them into real life, to whisk you away to some enchanted castle or magical forest where you'll both live happily ever after? When we were little kids, didn't we all imagine being Princess Ariel or Belle, to be taken away and loved forever by Prince Eric or The Beast, complete with an entire library of books (was that last part just us?).
Well, it seems like at some point, Nature and Fate heard our cries to bring our favourite Disney Princes to life, and they granted our wish - in celebrity form! When you're in the public eye, you're bound to be compared to more than a few people (fictional or otherwise) throughout the duration of your career, for better or for worse. Fortunately for us, these 15 celebrities have been considered to be the real-life Disney Prince lookalikes - who also just happen to be way hotter, since they're actually alive and not just a cartoon! Finding a real-life Prince Charming has been what a lot of girls imagined as children, and we've finally found him (plus a whole bunch more)!
15 Flynn Rider: Jake Gyllenhaal
When it comes to the colouring, eyebrows, and facial hair, Jake Gyllenhaal looks like a pretty spot-on real-life version of Tangled's Flynn Rider (or Eugene Fitzherbert, if you will). His sly little side smile conjures up some of Flynn's devilish charm, but those big blue eyes are proof enough that he's really a sensitive soul beneath all the bluster.
Like Flynn Rider, Gyllenhaal is a grade-A hottie, but more intellectual than most beefcake movie stars, having first gotten his start in more indie movies like Donnie Darko and The Good Girl after a stint at Columbia University. Flynn is one of the more intelligent Disney Princes, too, and is actually a vital character in the film. Unlike earlier incarnations of Disney Princes like Prince Charming or Prince Ferdinand/Florian, Flynn has more personality, making him the favourite kind of modern Disney Prince. If Gyllenhaal was so inclined to rescue us and take us away from our boring days locked in our own metaphorical towers, we certainly wouldn't be complaining!
14 Aladdin: Zayn Malik
Former One Direction member Zayn Malik has been compared to Aladdin for ages - just take a look at Tumblr! Users have Photoshopped Zayn into the Disney film and Aladdin's clothing for quite some time, and it's clear why: the two look almost identical! Owing to their matching complexions and hair colours, as well as equally expressive eyebrows, Zayn could easily sweep Princess Jasmine off her feet and she wouldn't be missing his two-dimensional Disney counterpart.
While we've seen Zayn looking more dour and serious lately, his smile is further proof of his resemblance to the one-time Prince Ali. Both men (one real-life, one cartoon) also have slimmer, wirier bodies, unlike some of the more buffed up and macho Disney Princes (and celebrities) on this list. While longtime girlfriend Gigi Hadid may not look very much like Jasmine, she can still feel like a Disney Princess with Zayn as her Aladdin lookalike by her side!
13 Prince Naveen: Michael B. Jordan
This one really comes all the way down to the smile. When Michael B. Jordan smiles, he not only lights up a room, but he looks an awful lot like Prince Naveen from The Princess and the Frog. Just look at that little sparkle in the corner of Prince Naveen's mouth and tell us that you can't see the resemblance!
While Naveen starts off as a bit of a jerk in the movie, Jordan has always been more of a cutie patootie and loveable guy when it comes to the roles he chooses. Often the underdog, like in his award-winning role as a boxer in Creed, Jordan has the humility and modesty that Naveen earns later, after doing some time in his amphibian form. We know that their face shapes and certain features might not be completely identical, but when it comes to personality and that blinding smile, everything else just sort of melts away. We'd be happy to have this real-life Disney Prince lookalike take us away to New Orleans any time!
12 Prince Phillip: Ryan Reynolds
Like most of the earlier Disney Princes (and Princesses for that matter), we don't really get to learn all that much about Sleeping Beauty's Prince Phillip. We know he's an action hero of sorts, being able to fight off dragons to meet his lady love, but beyond what he looks like and that one daredevil act, we don't know much about him.
That being said, the resemblances between him and actor Ryan Reynolds are pretty obvious, wouldn't you say? Their jawlines look like carbon copies of one another, and Reynolds' expressive eyebrows help along the comparison. Dapper in everything he wears, Reynolds certainly wouldn't look out of place donning the garb of a prince, but he also has plenty of hero experience, owing to his roles in films like Blade: Trinity, and, of course, Deadpool. Since we don't know a lot about Prince Phillip, maybe we can assume he has some of Reynolds' killer wit, but if not, hey, he still looks pretty gorgeous!
11 Prince Naveen: Michael Ealy
We can't guarantee this, but we think it's quite possible that Michael Ealy was the inspiration between Prince Naveen, because hot damn, the resemblance between these two is uncanny! Ealy may not be a household name quite yet, but he has plenty of acting credits (largely in TV) to his name, and looking like a beloved Disney Prince definitely doesn't do him a disservice! With his light eyes and squared-off jaw, Ealy is a dead ringer for Prince Naveen. Plus, he has some of the more prestigious upbringing similar to the spoiled Naveen: Ealy got his start on stage in off-Broadway productions that allowed him to flex his acting muscles - and what muscles they are!
You may not know Michael Ealy all too well, but if you're a fan of The Princess and the Frog - or just feel like taking a deep dive in those blue-green eyes - we recommend getting your butt over to Google!
10 Prince Ferdinand/Florian: Nicholas Hoult
The jury is still out on what to call the prince from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Some say his name is Prince Ferdinand, others say Prince Florian, and still others are adamant that he has no name, and is simply known as The Prince. That last one should show you just about how much of an impact he has in the story, but that didn't stop us from finding a celebrity who resembles him in a pretty incredible way.
Prince Ferdinand/Florian has a rather boyish face, with softer, more delicate features, which is why former child star Nicholas Hoult is an obvious match! With his blue eyes, clear, pale skin, full lips, and brown hair, Hoult looks an awful lot like the Disney Prince we arguably know the least about in the Disney universe. He seems like a good guy (if we ignore the ickiness that comes with kissing an unconscious woman), and Hoult also seems like a soft-spoken sweetheart. Plus, Princesses wouldn't faze Hoult: he's already had a long-term relationship with Hollywood Golden Girl Jennifer Lawrence!
9 Prince Adam/The Beast: Jason Momoa
It's not often you'll find an actor who can look like BOTH The Beast and Prince Adam, but Jason Momoa is definitely it! He's got the Beast look down pat, with his scruffy hair, pumped-up body, height (Momoa is 6”4), and animalistic nature, which he exhibited to great effect in the role of Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. Momoa is an actor who could definitely make us fall in love with The Beast, before transforming into the equally gorgeous Prince Adam. Plus, he knows how to play royalty!
Momoa's acting history involves him playing gruff characters who are rough around the edges, so this is a celebrity whose resemblance to a Disney Princes extends beyond the physical. Sure, he LOOKS like most women's fave Disney guy, but he also acts it, too! As Khal Drogo, we learned to love a man who was kind of a jerk at first, but who showed a more sensitive and emotional side as the season went on.
8 John Smith: Chris Hemsworth
In artist Jirka Väätäinen's collection of real-life Disney characters, in which he digitally created Disney characters as they might look outside of cartoons, the clear inspiration for Pocahontas' John Smith is most definitely Aussie Chris Hemsworth. The long blonde hair, the blue eyes, the jawline, and the macho manly-man attitude make these two look like twins separated by a dimension. Sure, Hemsworth may have already played the Huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman, but if they ever did a live-action reboot of Pocahontas (which seems to be the thing to do these days), we're casting our vote right now for the oldest of the hot Hemsworth brothers!
Yes, John Smith is definitely problematic, what with being a colonist from England who is part of the group that will destroy the land belonging to Native Americans, but maybe the guy who played Thor can help bring something loveable back to this controversial character.
7 Prince Charming: Henry Cavill
Just take one look at Henry Cavill and Prince Charming and tell us that the only thing that separates these two is the fact that one is a cartoon, because holy crap, do they look alike! Cavill has already played Superman, so we know he's not a stranger to resembling an animated character, and it's because his face looks like the kind of thing an artist would draw! His chiseled bone structure, his dimpled chin, and those penetrating eyes are classic Hollywood good looks that transcend any era, so despite being a major-league hottie in the 2010s, Cavill would fit in just as well among the clean-shaven '50s set!
Cavill and Charming both have the broad-shouldered body types that look like they belong to Ken dolls or action figures, and so we can't help but see them as one in the same. Cinderella may have been released in 1950 and Cavill may have been born in 1983, but we're not convinced that the animators didn't see into the future and use his face for inspiration.
6 Li Shang: Daniel Dae Kim
Those cheekbones! That brooding sensibility! Those serious, dark eyes! That stubborn streak! Daniel Dae Kim of Lost and Hawaii Five-O fame and Li Shang of Mulan look so similar it's downright scary. While Mulan was set in Ancient China and Dae-Kim is of South Korean heritage, the resemblance between to two is pretty remarkable. As the character Jin-Soo Kwon in Lost, Kim definitely showed his skills as a leader, but also as a stubborn man who doesn't take crap from anyone, just like Li Shang. Li Shang is certainly one of the more prickly Disney Princes, and so Kim matches him in looks as well as attitude! (Although we're sure he's absolutely lovely in real life.) An Army Captain as well as a Prince, Li Shang's buff body and chiseled good looks make it difficult to tell him and Daniel Dae Kim apart! (We're betting that either way, Mulan's not complaining!)
5 Prince Eric: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
You won't often find a politician being compared to a Disney Prince, but Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been compared to Prince Eric of The Little Mermaid more than a few times by more than a few people! (Actually, the entire Internet thinks he belongs in the Disney universe.)
With his dark curly hair, strong jawline, blue-green eyes, and wide smile, it's plain to see how the comparison has gained traction! Headlines have said things like “Canada elected a real-life Disney Princes to be its Prime Minister” and memes have abounded comparing the Prime Minister at different points in his life to the dreamy Disney Prince. Plus, Trudeau grew up as a child of privilege, owing to his father being the former Prime Minister of Canada as well, similarly to Prince Eric's gilded upbringing in a castle. However, it's really his warm heart and dashing good looks that make him look like a bonafide member of Disney's Prince #squad!
4 Prince Adam/The Beast: Jean Sarkozy
Never heard of Jean Sarkozy? You're not alone! Sarkozy is the son of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and the 30-year-old is another politician who has been compared a couple of times to a Disney Prince! (We're betting it might be a bit more now, once word gets out as to who he is!)
While not as tall as the other celebrity we nominated as a lookalike for Prince Adam/The Beast, Sarkozy still looks quite a bit like the cursed Prince, thanks to his mane of thick hair, square-shaped face, and multiple photographs of him using his sultry lips to pout - the male equivalent of Resting B*tch Face. Even their noses look identical! It's actually a little strange - and worth more than one double-take - to see how closely these two resemble one another. Hey, if Sarkozy's political career doesn't work out, perhaps he could make a living cosplaying as The Beast! He'd already have the French accent nailed!
3 Prince Hans: Sam Claflin
One word for this case of Disney twinning: sideburns. Sideburns are one of the defining physical features of Frozen's villainous Prince Hans, and few celebrities are able to rock them quite like Me Before You's Sam Claflin. Add to that the russet hair that Claflin sometimes wears, and we've got a real-life carbon copy of the man who stole Anna's heart.
The similarities don't stop there. While Prince Hans is definitely a major a-hole, he also has a way with women, and is able to win over Princess Anna despite her better judgment and warning from her sister, Queen Elsa. Claflin has also been able to rock this inflated ego in his film roles, like as the beloved and prideful Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games franchise. Cocky and handsome, Claflin won over audiences in the theatres and in the Panem universe, which is exactly what Prince Hans would've done (although he definitely would've teamed up with the Careers rather than Katniss and company).
2 John Smith: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Okay, we know we said that Chris Hemsworth should play the live-action role of John Smith should a real-life reboot ever come to fruition, but check out Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and tell us that there wouldn't be a fight on our hands! The resemblance between these two is absolutely uncanny, from the blonde hair and the way it's cut to their shared steely gaze, both the Disney Prince and the royal Lannister could be twinsies!
Like John Smith, Coster-Waldau in his role as Jamie Lannister on Game of Thrones is also tasked with doing things he may not want to, and being shunned and ridiculed for them. (Jamie Lannister was blackballed as the Kingslayer, John Smith was considered traitorous for his relationship with Pocahontas.) But, leaving aside their similarities in personality, these two look so alike it's scary. Handsome and a bit of a jerk? Sounds like a no-brainer to us!
1 Prince Eric: Matt Bomer
How do we follow up someone like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who looks exactly like John Smith? With the impossibly handsome Matt Bomer, who was clearly separated at birth from Prince Eric! Seriously, how is it possible that these two look so alike, when one is a living, breathing human and the other was drawn in ink? Owing to his dark hair, shockingly blue eyes, great smile, and bone structure that looks like it was carved by Michelangelo himself, Bomer has been compared to the prince of The Little Mermaid more times than we can count. There was even a petition on change.org trying to get Bomer cast in the role for an upcoming Little Mermaid live-action reboot! Seriously, who wouldn't trade their voice to get a chance with this gorgeous hunk of man?
Unfortunately for us, Bomer is already taken, and a proud father and family man, but even though we don't get to be his Princess Ariel, we know he'll always be our real-life Prince Eric!
