Because if a fully clothed Dev Patel looks hot, how much more hot would he be when totally naked?! Seriously though, some actors and actresses brag left and right about being naked on a show or in a movie. Dev, on the other hand, keep this on the down low. How's that for a star? 11 He's A Technophobe
Okay, chances are you don't know what a technophobe is. We're not saying you're dumb, we're just saying that most people don't know what the heck a technophobe is. Who would?! We live in a super high-tech world. Basically, a technophobe is someone who is not super into technology. Maybe Dev is still using a Nokia 3210. Who knows?! Dev is not a big fan of anything that is high-tech. Now you know why he's not on social media so much. And why there aren't many photos of him on the internet. Most of us are dying to get the latest smartphone. Most of us would kill for an iPhone. But Patel does not care. For him, life is all about analog. Or at least that's what it sounds like. Are you planning to be a technophobe as well? Do you think you can survive this world with no smartphone? If there's anyone out there willing to try, go for it. Then tell us how it goes.

Would you believe Dev Patel is only 26 years old? He seems like he's so experienced already. Like he's been in the industry for ages and has been an adult for a super long time. Well, maybe some actors are good thanks to practice… and others are good because it runs in their blood. We all know which of these two categories Dev Patel falls into. And now that we know he's only 26, we shall welcome all the daydreaming that involves Patel. Don't worry, we're going to keep this a secret. There should be a Dev Patel emoji so we can better express our love for this guy. Do you think this 26-year-old actor would mind?
9 He's Insanely Tall aka 6'2
6'2! That is tall! And height is not even as super important in the field of acting as it is in the field of basketball. So this is definitely a huge plus. Just imagine all the roles Dev will play in the future because of his height. We're not saying it will be his magic pass to big roles and big films and more money and fame, but we have to face reality here that sometimes, these things are part of the whole deal. In the world of Hollywood and acting, the most important thing is the ability to act. But with the kind of world we have today, where audiences are becoming more and more keen, hotness, and height are probably going to be an important part of the casting process for movies and TV shows. So we're excited to see what he can do. Of course, we know that he will also be hired because of his amazing talent, but his height might factor into things sometimes too.
8 He Was Born In London
Yup, this star was born in London, England. We're pretty sure that acting was Dev's big dream since, well, he's now doing it, but sometimes it's also about the opportunities that fall into your lap. We need someone who is not just all about being a beautiful man. We need a role model who will remind us that being proud of who you are and of your ethnicity, race, gender, and everything about you is super important. All hail Dev Patel! If you couldn't tell, we really like this guy.
7 He Claims He Is Bad At Math
The truth is that we need a role model who is super real. That means being real and honest about the things he knows and doesn't know. In Dev's case, that's math. Admit it, there are moments when you're faced with a situation where you have zero idea about something and you have two choices. Either you admit you have no idea what's going on and let the knowledgeable person in the room step forward, or you lie that you know what's going on. And we all know going for the latter is a lot easier. Who would want to admit she has no idea how a microwave works? Or how Siri works? Or how to multiply numbers? See, now we're all feeling more comfortable about the subject. We just need a little push and a little inspiration. Which is why Dev Patel is the perfect example of being honest. And boy are we lucky to have him.
6 He Has A Black Belt In Taekwondo
In case you haven't noticed, there is no absolutely stopping this guy from taking on the world with his talent and hotness. It's not easy to find a kind, amazing and incredibly beautiful man these days. He's a great actor, he knows how to make a good living, he's honest and handsome, and… a really really huge plus, he's a black belter in taekwondo! Young ladies, y'all better learn those martial arts skills. So now you think he's even cooler, right?
5 His Role On 'The Newsroom' Earned Him A NAACP Image Award Nom
Geez, this Patel guy sure knows how to make a good career in the film industry, and how to keep it. For good. Of course, just because you are nominated and don't actually win the award doesn't mean that you suck. It means that you were good enough to be nominated. And focusing on this will only help you push harder. It'll inspire you to keep going and keep trying and, like what Dev Patel is doing, keep showing the world you're really good at what you do. And you're worthy of such a nomination. We're sure some of you have no words when it comes to expressing how much you admire Dev. And that's understandable, you know. We just love Neal Sampat as much as we love Dev Patel. Period. And we so admire his knowledge in tech and news and everything in between. In that role, Dev showed us even the awkward person in the room can be good-looking awkward.
4 He Got A Golden Globe Nom For His 'Lion' Role
And another nomination. What else can we possibly say? We've all spent the last few minutes reading and reiterating how incredibly amazing an actor Dev Patel is. And it's not just because the internet is starting to go gaga over him or because he looks great. He's an incredibly amazing actor because he loves what he does and these nominations and awards prove just that. If someone out there is going to argue that Dev is not a good actor, well, we're sorry we're not on the same side but clearly, Dev is using his hotness the right way. It's much better if you can a.) act and b.) are actually super hot. And this man, well, he has everything. The acting, the hotness, and being human all comes naturally for him. And a Golden Globe?! That is a huge deal, people. Even just a Golden Globes nomination is a huge, huge deal.
3 He's Played Several Tech-Related Roles
As mentioned, Dev has already given life to lots of roles in his short journey in Hollywood. He co-starred in Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom which aired from 2012 until 2014 where he played a digital media expert and the guy who knows everything. He played a math geek, S. Ramanujan (which is totally the opposite of him in real life) in The Man Who Knew Infinity which was directed by Matthew Brown. And he was also in the 2015 sci-fi drama Chappie as the robot inventor hottie. So yes, Dev Patel is quite an accomplished actor, probably way more accomplished than most people already know. Because he lives a super humble life. Just look at him. If you see him in the streets and you do not know him, you probably won't know he is an artist who is bad at math. (Yeah, we just have to repeat that last part.)
2 He Makes You Cry Thanks To His Awesome Acting
If you're wondering who, that's going to be a long list. Just think about it. Dev has played many different characters in many different kinds of films so, of course, someone has cried. Someone probably cried when Will McAvoy finally opened the doors to Neal Sampat's pitch on bigfoot. This is when Dev showed the public how tough it is to work in journalism and how fulfilling too. So go ahead, share your stories of crying moments. We all understand that this guy is just so good at what he does and making his audience cry is probably something normal for him. Dev probably receives tons of emails and tweets each day saying “I cried when you [insert acting moment] in [insert show/film]." Yep. It happens to the best of us, people. Go on and cry. Express your emotions. And then tell Dev Patel about it. You never know, maybe he'll read it.
1 He's A Screenwriter
According to a story in The Guardian, Dev noted he's “writing a hyper-modern action film, based on a 5,000-year-old Hindu mythology, set in a heightened Bombay - an anthem for youth.” Yup. What else can you ask for? Not only is this man humble and hot and obviously kind, he's also a screenwriter. There is definitely no such thing as going broke when you're Dev Patel. He may not be the best in Math but his skills in so many different things will keep the cash flow steady. Now you know how people survive this thing called earth. They have multiple sources of income. They do not focus on the typical 9-5 or whatever a full-time job is. Dev might be focused on exploring Hollywood today but in no time, this man will surely invade other fields like modeling. Or writing. Maybe he'll be an author. Oh, a hot author! That would be awesome!
