15 Men You Forgot Were Once Hot

Famous people are put on a pedestal for their beauty, their physiques and their charm. Not only for their physical attributes, but fame also brings a sense of prestige, well because honestly there are plenty of perks to being rich and famous. Most often though, celebs are really good looking, that's why they have so many fans they're easy to love. We also love to stare. We want to be them. And we really want to date them. And sadly, as fans we also tend to judge them based on their looks. People love to look at beautiful things. And people also love a dramatic fall from grace. The following is a list of 15 male celebrities that you might have forgotten used to leave the ladies starstruck. Over time, some of them got some botched plastic surgery that the public didn't respond well to. Some just look like they might like donuts more than they like their abs. And some have just fallen to the natural process of aging, which is totally normal, but Hollywood loves a fall from grace and of course, these are the ones that are preyed upon in the media.

    15 Jeff Bridges

Forever remembered as “The Dude” from the Big Lebowski, many have forgotten that he was once one of the most underrated sexy actors of the 80s. He was nominated for six Academy Awards (none for “Lebowski," sadly) and of the six, he won best actor for “Crazy Heart” in 2009. You might have possibly remember him from “Starman” where he plays an alien who takes the form of Karen Allen's recently deceased husband, if you were lucky enough to see the film at someone else's house during a sleepover when you were young. True enough: some of us might enjoy our Lebowski in the older stages of his life versus in his prime. He's a cool dude. He could be labeled a silver fox. But sometimes a couple years and a grey-ish beard might tend to hide the striking features that made ladies swoon earlier on.

    14 Martin Sheen

One of the Sheens. You know he's was good looking in his heyday. Born Ramon Estevez, he took his stage name as a tribute to Catholic Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. If there was one movie that Martin was know for, it was “Apocalypse Now,” an epic Vietnam war film by Francis Ford Coppola during the filming of which Sheen almost died due to a heart attack he had on set as a result of a breakdown, and partially due to drug and alcohol use. He was able to pass his good looks on genetically to both of his sons, a couple of actors you might have heard of named Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez. Most recently he's been on Netflix on “Grace and Frankie” playing Robert Hanson but most famously (and for the longest period in his career) he's known for his stint as the President on “The West Wing.”

    13 Axel Rose

Axel Rose was the lead singer of the band Guns and Roses. This guy was one of the sexiest rockers during the mid to late 80's and into the 90's due to his long hair, badass attitude, and tight leather pants. He was even named one of the 100 greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. Rose started out on the LA club scene and got a ton of recognition leading up to his band's breakthrough album “Appetite for Destruction.” Most notably, this album gave us several of their biggest hits (and of course, multiple amazing karaoke tracks) including “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Paradise City,” and “Sweet Child O' Mine.” In the later 90's, the band broke up leaving only Rose and the keyboardist to continue on under the name Guns N' Roses. He still continues to be a rock star to this day, but recently, he gained a significant amount of weight leaving the internet with a plethora of unkind memes of him.

    12 Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas has a ton of credits and accolades, but might be one of those actors that the younger generation may not be too familiar with. He won an Oscar for his famous role of Gordon Gekko in “Wall Street” and added to his extensive list of credits are movies such as “Fatal Attraction,” “Basic Instinct,” “Falling Down,” “The Game,” and “Ant-Man.” I semi-forced my friend to watch “Romancing the Stone, citing it as one of my favorite movies from childhood. She sent me several Snapchat stills back with comments such as “is this what was hot in the 80s???” And yes, Michael Douglas was considered a sex symbol, probably with help from his multiple steamy sex scenes from his various films. Although Douglas' health has recently gone downhill which has reflected on his looks, he's still going strong with several movies in pre-production.

    11 Tim Kaine

#election2016! For anyone living under a rock during the past year, Tim Kaine was Hillary Clinton's vice presidential running mate. Compared to the media circus surrounding Clinton and Donald Trump, the running mates ended up somewhat under the radar during this election. And, there was only one vice presidential debate, so he wasn't seen nearly as much as Hillary. Kaine went to Harvard Law School before becoming Governor of Virginia in 2005. He was Chairman of the Democratic National Committee for a couple of years and became a Senator in 2012. His political talent was evident even in high school where he was on the debate team and student body president. And, he had the good looks to boot. These days, Kaine is a little more ruddy faced and older looking, but he looks like he charmed everyone into voting for him in high school with that face in that black and white picture.

    10 Mickey Rourke

Poor Mickey Rourke. This guy has been repeatedly at the top of lists on the internet of people with the worst plastic surgery. In older pictures, it's obvious why he was such a heartthrob. He had suave good looks and seems as though his eyes are always saying something dirty to you. He has a ton of credits including “9 ½ Weeks,” “Johnny Handsome” (in which he plays the main character, Johnny Handsome, if that doesn't sum it up for you), “Sin City,” and he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in “The Wrestler” in 2008. Rourke had done a lot of boxing throughout his life and his career and finally required plastic surgery to fix some of the damage done to his face because of it. However, the multiple surgeries didn't turn out as planned, and his face has forever been changed drastically from the looks of his youth.

    9 Rob Kardashian

Rob is the youngest sibling of the Kardashians. Although not as famous as his sisters Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie and Kendall, the last name alone gets him enough recognition. Like the Kardashian family as a whole, Rob was good looking and in great shape (from what we could see from some of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” episodes and online pictures). In one season of the show, Rob was featured in a storyline about how he wanted to start a modeling career. He ended up meeting with an agency and eventually being featured in the “Op” ad campaign in 2011. Well, his fit body and that career path did not last long, and soon Rob ended up gaining a lot of weight. Although he has been seen on a few of the spin offs from the “Kardashian” series (most notably, on his own show called “Rob and Chyna”) there doesn't seem to be much hope that Rob will ever get his modeling career back.

    8 Keith Richards

For fans who already know, Keith Richards is the guitarist for The Rolling Stones. For the younger generation who might not be so familiar with him, he plays Johnny Depp's father in “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.” He was also the inspiration for most of Johnny Depp's character of Captain Jack Sparrow, with Depp absorbing many of his mannerisms to translate to the character, saying “I sort of thought that pirates would be the rock and roll stars of the 18th century, you know?” The Rolling Stones have been together since 1962. Richards met Mick Jagger when they were both children, and have been fast friends ever since. Richards has been labeled as the #4 best guitarist of all time out of 100 guitarists by Rolling Stone magazine. His swarthy accent and rock star ways have always tantalized the ladies. But years of hard living have changed Keith's good looks into those of a real pirate.

    7 John McCain

McCain is a senator from Arizona and was the Republican presidential nominee in 2008 against Barack Obama. Recently, he's been in the forefront in the press again because he and Donald Trump got into a few bitchy catfights during Trump's campaign, insulting each other's positions on both foreign and domestic issues, McCain's war record, and Trump's comments about women. In his younger years, McCain was apparently somewhat of a badass in school and only did well enough to pass his subjects, despite having a high IQ. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1958 and became a naval aviator. He was a pilot during the Vietnam War and was shot down in 1967. He became a prisoner of war and endured torture for over 5 years after that. Both his arms were broken as well as one of his legs and although he received some medical care during that time, McCain is unable to raise either arm above to the shoulder to this day. Although McCain may have lost his youthful good looks, his history lets us know he is definitely still a force to be reckoned with.

    6 Russell Crowe

Personally I have not seen Russell Crowe much lately, the biggest thing I remember about him is that he was the hottest new thing in movies in the 00's and then he threw a phone at someone in a hotel, Naomi Campbell style (he apparently threw it at a hotel front desk clerk and injured him while repeatedly trying and failing to reach his wife in Australia). Crowe apparently forever exhibited the bad boy image that he is still known for. He was born in New Zealand but spent much of his life in Australia. He dropped out of school at 16 to become an actor. Crowe's rugged good looks and piercing blue eyes were a sure path to get him there. He eventually broke into mainstream film and won the Academy Award for best actor in “Gladiator” and also was nominated for best actor for “The Insider” and “A Beautiful Mind.”

    5 Brendan Fraser

Brendan Fraser is one of those actors that had a pretty good stint of movie roles coming to him in the mid to late 90's, and then dropped off the map. With his strong jaw and dark floppy mop of hair, he was a chiseled up and coming actor who had tons of promise. He became known for his roles in “School Ties” (in the role of a Jewish student in the 50's who hides his background from other classmates) and “Encino Man” (where played a caveman who was found frozen in ice in California). The “Mummy” franchise was huge for him and made him an action star. But as time went on, he appeared less in front of the camera and was in a couple of box office bombs in 2010. His super awkward goofy clap at the 2010 Golden Globes during Robert De Niro's speech didn't help bring his sexy back either.

    4 Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer is the kind of guy that really can be described as gorgeous in his heyday. He is probably most well known for his role of Iceman in “Top Gun,” an 80's hit (if you have not seen this now, put it on your list of “to-do's). His non-verbal response to Tom Cruise's “I am dangerous” when he just clicks his teeth together in a vicious bite is classic. Val Kilmer has an extensive list of credits in films. He's been Jim Morrison in “The Doors.” He's been one of the few Batmans played in films in “Batman Forever.” He played Doc Holliday in “Tombstone” and was even on the series “Entourage.” Recently, he's caught a lot of flak for appearing to have gained a lot of weight for unknown recents. But sadly there is speculation due to statements made by Michael Douglas that he is now battling cancer.

    3 Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck had everything going for from an early age in his career path. He starting acting at a somewhat young age, and has been featured in tons of roles. Like Val Kilmer he also played a Batman, although to no-so-glowing reviews. He was a Kevin Smith favorite and appeared in several of his movies including “Mallrats,” “Chasing Amy,” and “Dogma,” and has even received a Golden Globe for Best Director for his film “Argo.” He is also a producer, and let's not forget-an Oscar winning writer for “Good Will Hunting,” and award he shared with his best friend Matt Damon. Recently, Affleck has been in the press for his dramatic split from wife Jennifer Garner due to alleged infidelities with the nanny. Although he was one of People's “Sexiest Men Alive” in 2002, he has appeared to have gone from six pack ab status to “dad bod” status.

    2 Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson could possibly be the most notorious of the hotties you forgot about on this list. This could be due to the influx of mug shots and articles about his arrest in 2011 after saying some anti-Semetic things to a police officer while driving drunk. Early on his career, he was know for being the original Mad Max. He slowly got rid of his Australian accent and won the sexy brooding role of Martin Riggs in the “Lethal Weapon” series. He acted in comedies as well as dramas and in 1995, he received Academy Awards for both best director and best picture for “Braveheart.” We forget about the hotness level that Gibson had when he was younger. He was the very first person to receive the title of “Sexiest Man Alive” in 1985. Although quite a bit older now, he hopefully has become wiser after his public mishaps and could possibly make an acting comeback in the near future.

    1 Any Baldwin

Ah, the Baldwins. This band of brothers was a gaggle of hotness that flooded the movie market in the early 90s. All of them were good looking. They all had swagger and charm and those intense eyes. Even Cher (played by Alicia Silverstone) translated their last name into a slang term for “babe” in “Clueless” when she admitted “ok, ok, so he is kind of a Baldwin” while talking about her man crush, Josh. The Baldwin clan consists of Alec, William, Stephen and Daniel. Alec has been on fire in recent years with his longterm stint on “30 Rock” and most recently, his impressive impression of Daniel Trump on “Saturday Night Live.” William (Billy) started his career as a model and was well known for roles in “Backdraft,” “Flatliners,” and “Gossip Girl.” Stephen played Buffalo Bill Cody in “The Young Riders” and was one of the gang in “The Usual Suspects.” Daniel is probably the least known of the brothers, but still held his own in “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Cold Case,” as well as several reality shows. All four were definitely the hotties of the 90s, but even though all four are showing their age, they definitely all still got it!
