    15 On-Screen Siblings With Off-Screen Romances

Imagine spending months even years on end with someone practically 24/7, you are bound to build a connection and often that connection can lead to a romance. The fact that you both are already within close quarters of each other, things can definitely get weird. For these celebrities, things escalated quickly with the fact that not only were they acting together on the same television series but they were actually playing the role of Brothers and Sisters-- which is totally fine, it is acting after all and they aren't blood-related but these celebs ended up having romantic relations during and after filming and to some people they find it difficult to separate the two. But remember it is only acting, therefore they aren't actually brother and sister so their off-screen romance isn't so weird after all.

Have you ever wondered how many celebrities, who played on-screen siblings actually dated in real life? Believe it or not, there are quite a few. There is always that possibility of creating a romantic connection with the opposite gender especially when you are spending so much time together. For these 15 celebrities, they may have played siblings on screen but they took their relationship to a whole other level off screen. Check out the 15 different celebrities that did, in fact, play on-screen siblings but had off-screen romances:

15 Selena Gomez and David Henrie

Remember Wizards Of Waverly Place? The annoying bratty yet sassy little sister Alex Russo played by Selena Gomez, also the sister to the older brother Justin Russo played by David Henrie, they may have been on-screen siblings but that didn't stop them from dating in real life. It is actually odd to think these two dated at some point when all fans can think of them as Alex, who always got into trouble and Justin, the goody-two-shoes who had to bail Alex out almost every time. Although the relationship was never actually confirmed, these two were spotted out several times which often looked like dates. But if you recall back on the set of Wizards Of Waverly Place, fans could sense their on-camera chemistry-- or shall we say tension as definitely a case of cast incest. These two clearly have some undeniable chemistry but was it enough for them to fall for each other? These two created lots and lots of crazy and amazing magic on-screen but little to our own imaginations they clearly created some magic off-screen as well. Selena Gomez and David Henrie apparently had their own little love spell occur right after Selena's split from Justin Bieber back in 2014. Although these two weren't considered an item for very long, it does not surprise us that they were bound to have a little off-screen romance. And even though it was merely just a rumor circulating, fans were actually thrilled to see these two canoodling it up and obviously taking their connection to a whole other level.

14 Nikki Reed and Robert Pattinson

For all you Twilight fans, while we all swooned over Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson, did you know that these costars-- aka played as brother and sister, Nikki Reed and Rob dated in real life? It is so crazy to think about that, but it is true. Granted this duo weren't actually blood-related siblings during all the Twilight Sagas, considering they were pseudo-adopted, it still got fans going crazy knowing they were actually dating. As I recall throughout the movie series, Nikki Reed's character Rosalie Hale tended to have many heated discussions with Rob's character Edward Cullen. Now picture these two being a real-life couple and then replay certain scenes in the movie-- there is definitely some fiery passion building between these two and although they play on-screen siblings they most certainly took that passion to another level. While sources have stated that their fling did not last very long, the romance was most definitely there despite their on-screen family obstacles. If you think about it, those Vampires are sneaky and clearly, they had more than one secret up their ice cold sleeves, right?

13 Katherine Heigl and Jason Behr

Once upon a time, Katherine Heigl decided to step outside the box and date her co-star, Jason Behr. We all love a good celebrity romance brewing-- one we love to track down their relationship status and make bets on how long they will last. Jason and Katherine met on the set of the television show Roswell. Romances happen between celebrities all the time, but what really gets the attention of fans is when celebrities who play brother and sister on set start dating in real life. This is exactly what occurred with Katherine and Jason, they played on-screen siblings but they had a real-life romance brewing off-screen. This duo did not date for very long and eventually broke up only to move on and marry different people (aka non-on-screen siblings). There were even rumors that this couple was engaged at some point during their off-screen romance but their love soon fizzled out and they ended up breaking up in 2001. If you don't remember the television series Roswell, it is okay because not very many of us do. While these two played siblings on-set, their romance in real-life was heading towards a dead-end. Jason and Katherine began dating during the filming of Roswell back in 1999-- and unfortunately for them, the television show and their off-screen romance were very short lived.

12 Jamie Campbell Bower and Lily Collins

We all love a hot and steamy romance between two celebrities-- but what happens when they play siblings on-screen, does it just become weird? Now if you have ever seen the movie The Mortal Instruments, fans were to believe that this duo were never actually brother and sister-- and there is a romantic relationship occurring between these two on-screen and off-screen. Now if we trace back to the information we know from the film, Jamie and Lily are not actually blood-related. In fact, Lily's character Clary Fray's biological father only raised Jace Wayland aka JCB but was not actually his biological father. Therefore, their on-screen romance as so-called brother and sister isn't that weird after all. And now we can focus on our number one most beautiful couples relationship off-screen and not feel so weird when we catch the paparazzi snapping photos of these two closer than ever. These two fell in love while on-set of The Mortal Instruments, which fans went wild over and who could honestly blame them? Jamie and Lily dated for about a year, this boomerang couple found themselves breaking up and then getting back together up until they officially split up in 2013. But then they were rumored that their romance was heating back up, rekindling their flame shall we say, back in 2015 but then Lily left the most cryptic message on her social media pages stating something about love and doors closing which left us believing that they had officially broken up-- say goodbye to Jamily.

11 Lauren Graham and Peter Krause

Every time I see Lauren Graham's name all I can think of is Gilmore Girls. She is most certainly a fan favorite, and we all just love her on Gilmore Girls and Parenthood. Not to get sidetracked or anything but she is pretty amazing and clearly, her on-screen brother thought so too. Still, did you know that these two played brother and sister on the television series Parenthood? It is true that Lauren Graham and Peter Kraus were siblings and had met on the set while filming Parenthood. The lovely couple has been together since 2010. Clearly, their romantic connection was too much for them to handle, the fact that they played on-screen siblings didn't stop them. And we 100 percent back this couple up, because they are honestly too perfect that we aren't even thinking about the fact that they play on-screen brother and sister, after all, it is only on-screen therefore having a real life relationship is totally acceptable. Peter and Lauren fell in love during filming Parenthood, and they have been inseparable ever since. Love, isn't it just great! Picturing birds singing around this duo because that is how perfect they are for each other. This couple has been going strong for about five years, which if you think about it, is pretty rare in Hollywood. It may seem a bit odd to think about these two kissing each other goodnight right before bed, only to wake up and play brother and sister-- but if they can accept it, then so can we!

10 Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter

We all loved the chemistry between Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall on the set of Dexter but turns out their strong connection led to them creating even more of a romantic chemistry off-screen as they started dating in real life. Playing the roles of step brother and sister on the ever so popular television series Dexter, you would start to wonder how this couple ever even became a couple. When considering who you want to date let alone marry, the thought of a murderer, a murderer solver and somebody who happens to date their sibling, well only one word comes to mind-- DEXTER! But that is only a character after all, right? Turns out these two on-screen siblings had an off-screen romance and while they dated for some time, even got married and divorced all within the time span of filming Dexter and the television series wasn't even finished filming for it was still on the air. These two clearly know how to keep things professional. The fact that these on-screen siblings actually developed some romantic feelings during filming is quite disturbing--as if a television show about a serial killer wasn't enough to make your stomach turn. Fan theory that this couple's on-screen brother and sister debacles may have led them straight to splitsville causing them to end in a divorce back in 2010, or perhaps it was merely just real life issues that caused them to split-- the secret is safe with them and your guess is only as good as mine.

9 Chris Pratt and Emily VanCamp

Isn't it funny to think that on-screen Chris Pratt and Emily VanCamp played the roles of Brother and Sister on the hit television series Everwood but they played house in real life-- or shall we say, boyfriend and girlfriend. If I didn't know better it would seem that Emily has made a habit out of dating her co-stars and often her on-screen siblings. While Pratt and Vancamp met on the set of the WB's television show Everwood where they played siblings, these two love birds just could not resist temptations and clearly, could not keep their hands off of each other. Chris Pratt and Emily Vancamp dated for about two years but eventually broke up in 2007. It is true that romantic relationships can often form in the most bizarre ways and to think on a daily basis, months at a time you are playing the role of siblings only to leave set and find yourself in bed with-- your brother. Okay, not really your brother but you get the point. As these two played siblings they clearly could not ignore the romantic chemistry between them and ended up dating in real life. It isn't uncommon for actresses and actors to develop such strong feelings during filming especially when you spend so much time together, these cuties could not stop the romance even if they tried. They were instantly connected to each other, oddly enough once this duo broke up, Emily went on to dating another on-screen sibling on the show of Brothers and Sisters-- brings a whole other meaning to the title doesn't it?

8 Jason Priestley and Shannen Doherty

Remember Beverly Hills 90210, the original cast? Seeing these two brings back oh so many memories. But it is slightly odd to think that these two played the roles of on-screen brother and sister yet found themselves romantically attracted to each other in real life-- yet it really isn't a surprise at all, considering it is extremely common for co-stars to fall for each other. During the first season of Beverly Hills 90210, on-screen siblings, the twins Brandon and Brenda Walsh were played by Jason Priestley and Shannen Doherty, as they moved from a midwestern town to smack right in the middle of LA, you can only imagine what sibling rivalry may occur. In an interview with Howard Stern, Priestley confirmed that his co-star and on-screen sibling, Shannen Doherty did in fact date during the first season of filming. Their off-screen romance fizzled shortly after that first season, which you can only imagine caused major awkwardness for having to play siblings on-screen. It is crazy to think that these two actually played twins on the show but that obviously did not stop them from sparking up a major flame and a little bit of off-screen romance in real life. A lot of crazy things can occur during filming and these two clearly sparked up a major connection, taking their chemistry to a completely different level. Unfortunately for this pair, things did not go so well and over the years some major bad blood has been created, as they both have mentioned some unkindly words about each other.

7 Amy Poehler and Will Arnett

Remember that ice skating competition movie, also known as Blades of Glory that was released in 2007? Those high-strung competitors were actor Will Arnett and actress Amy Poehler, but little did we know that these two were actually already married in real life with kids. You would not have guessed that considering if you actually saw the film, they played two super-competitive ice skaters that were on-screen siblings. Ironically enough, their chemistry was heating up in real life and not many fans had a clue. How would you feel if you and your husband were asked to play the roles of brother and sister in a film? For these two love birds they took on the challenge eagerly, but let's just hope there weren't any accidental googly eyes made between these love birds during filming-- for that would be super awkward for the fans if believing this duo is supposed to be siblings and not lovers. Although these two were married for quite some time, even during filming, in 2012 they announced they were getting a divorce, according to Radaronline. After nine years of being married, it is sad to say these two on-screen siblings decided to finally end their off-screen romance-- clearly, their romance went up in flames of glory.

6 Susan Dey and David Cassidy

Let's go back in time, remember the singing siblings known as the Patridge Family, with the singing duo Susan Dey and David Cassidy? Although nothing was ever confirmed, we have other reasons to believe that this on-screen brother and sister actually dated in real life. In David Cassidy's autobiography "C'mon Get Happy" he clearly states that they did not in fact ever date, that he felt that she "lacked [a particular] aspect of a female that he (I) always found so attractive", calm down mister as if hooking up with your sister wasn't bad enough for him. He went on in his book to explain how the feelings just weren't there and he clearly states he just was not interested in her. But just because he wrote it in his book does not necessarily mean that nothing happened between these two. Perhaps they had a little fling, realized the chemistry was not there and ended it before anyone found out. Or maybe, coming off the vibe from his autobiography, perhaps all Cassidy wanted was to hook up with Dey but realized she was not that kind of girl and decided against it, or there is even the possibility that he tried and she denied him which since men's egos get bruised so easily his defense mechanism was what he wrote in his book. All these theories are only guesses and guesses aren't the truth. Perhaps the feelings were only one sided, or maybe Cassidy just did not want to reveal his true feelings for his on-screen sibling. I suppose this is a mystery we may never find out the answer to.

5 Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler

Got a secret, can you keep it? Clearly, these two on-screen siblings had an off-screen secret of their own but this is Hollywood and everything comes to surface one way or another-- say thank you to all the tabloids. We love gossip, we love romance, and we love seeing on-screen co-stars become off-screen lovers. During the filming, the hit HBO series The Sopranos, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler developed some major off-screen romance. These two love birds happen to play the roles of on-screen brother and sister A.J. and Meadow on The Sopranos. While the duo continuously denies any allegations regarding that they dated in real life, fans can already sense how close they seem to be getting over time. It is a little creepy to think about getting cozy with your sibling but considering they aren't actually brother and sister-- makes it okay in my book. Another secret Hollywood couple that we may never know if they actually dated or not. As these two grow up in the television show, they grow closer in real life, making fans curious as to whether they really are dating. The couple, or possible couple, were spotted one night at a Las Vegas nightclub snuggling up next to each other-- if that isn't a clear indication that something is definitely between these two then I don't know what is.

4 Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha-- clearly this Brady Bunch had a few secrets of their own. As one of the most popular television series of the 70's The Brady bunch was the highlight of everyone's favorite show. As we all followed the lives of this crazy bunch, little did we know that some of these on-screen siblings--half siblings to be correct, actually dated off-screen in real life. Considering the fact that this television show was purely about a blended family--and way beyond its years, it portrayed a clean-cut and traditional family still it was slightly shocking to learn that Maureen McCormick which we all know as Marsha, and Barry Williams that we know as Greg, actually had an off-screen romance. Turns out, a little known fact, during their filming of the television hit show when the Brady Bunch went to Hawaii while shooting several episodes on a beautiful Island romance is clearly expected to occur--but no one expected it to happen between on-screen siblings Marsha and Greg. According to McCormick, it was their first kiss. Let's just say the kiss must have been pretty special and lots of passion involved to make these two fall for each other. As mentioned before, it isn't uncommon for co-stars to fall in love with each other but still, fans have a difficult time adjusting to the idea of "Greg and Marsha" together, even if they aren't blood related--on-screen or off-screen for that matter. It would still be weird to kiss your brother whether it was your actual sibling or step brother still gross-- but these two clearly had some major chemistry that was bound to bring them together at some point.

3 Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Grey

Remember that incredible 80's film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off? Where Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing) played the role of Ferris Bueller's (aka Matthew Broderick) sister but little did you know they had a real life romance going on. You would not even suspect a thing considering her sisterly role made it seems clear-as-day that she despised her brother Ferris but that is what makes these two such incredible actors. They are capable of taking that on-screen sibling rivalry and turning it into a full-blown off-screen romance. We all love Hollywood couples and oddly enough there are the few that you would not really think twice that they would end up dating. Jennifer Grey and Matthew Broderick only dated for a year, 1987-1988. Turns out this feisty duo began dating in secrecy during the filming of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, it was not until their visit to Ireland where they were both involved in a fatal car crash, both injured but survived-- the accident publicly ended up revealing their secret relationship. It seems the pair found fame during the film but sources reveal that around the time of the crash, Grey was about to get her real big break in the upcoming premiere of Dirty Dancing. Little did these two love birds know that their lives were about to drastically change.

2 Shane West and Evan Rachel Wood

On-screen and off-screen romances happen so very often in La La Land that no one every questions the likelihood of actors and actresses getting together. Still, no one actually knew that this romance wasn't like the many other co-star romances. Turns out, Shane West and Evan Rachel Wood did not start dating until after they were completely done working together. Granted no one would judge them if they did date during the filming of Once and Again, but I also think it is cute that their romance did not start until afterward. Wood never actually confirmed whether these two were officially dating but she clearly hinted at it. She once stated that she had a slight crush on Shane West-- and obviously, he was crushing too. The actress happened to play the role of the little sister on ABC's Once And Again, the show didn't last very long for it ended in 2002, which is right around the time these two started dating. It was in 2009, Evan and Shane were spotted kissing and cuddling up to each other, which was about the time rumors started to circulate as to whether or not these two were actually an item.

1 David Tennant and Georgia Moffet

Is it crazy to think that these two actually played relatives on the 2008 hit television series Doctor who? On the show, Georgia Moffett played the role of the artificially created daughter of the Tennant's Tenth doctor. What is even more crazier is that Moffett's actual father played earlier on the show an incarnation of the doctor. David Tennant and Georgia Moffet may have been related somehow on the show but in real life they are romantically connected--in other words, they eventually married. It was in December 2011, that Moffett and Tennant got married and went on to having three children. I guess it is true what they say, that you can find love in the most unlikely places. To think that your on-screen father is also your husband in real life-- not sure you would want to even think about it. Over time, before these two were married, they were spotted out and about which obviously circulated the rumor of the two dating--but nothing had actually been confirmed. These two actually kept their relationship private, considering Tennant attracted a lot of attention when out in public they spent a good amount of time at each other's houses. It wasn't until later on in their relationship that these two ended up getting married, which led to all of Hollywood finding out about their off-screen romance. And although they played father and daughter on the show, these two are still going strong romantically that is. Just love a good romance story, don't you?
