Society's fascination with models and catwalks has made some people believe that in order to be beautiful, a girl has to have quite a pair of legs on her! While the short gals amongst us will forever envy the height that Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner have, there's no need to fret if you're few inches below average. Some of Hollywood's most gorgeous women happen to be far below the standard height for American women, which is about 5'4. And even though their legs might not reach the sky like those models on the runway, they are desired and envied by men and women the world over! Shakira might just be the definition of hot! A vocalist, musician, and multilingual smarty pants, the Colombian-born superstar is best known for her toned tummy and hips, as well as singing sensual songs like “Underneath Your Clothes”. She's one of the best dancers in the industry, and specializing in something like belly-dancing naturally makes her pretty desirable. So how tall is Shakira? 5'1 and a half. That's right! She's even too tiny to be 5'2, which is two inches below the national average. But to be honest, we have never looked at Shakira and thought anything about her was less-than-perfect. With a body that moves like that, who really cares how tall it is? Her looks, in addition to her talent, passion, and brains, have made the songstress a true symbol of beauty in the entertainment industry. She might come in a little package, but we can honestly say that nobody is too concerned.

Another Latin star who's an innie-minnie is the Mexican-American actress Salma Hayek. Standing only 5'2, Hayek is widely thought to be one of the most stunning actresses in the film industry. Beginning her career in the telenovela Teresa, Hayek was destined for greatness and soon made her way to Hollywood, where she landed roles in movies like Wild Wild West, Dogma, and Desperado. And like every other leading lady, she graces those red carpets like nobody's business, sporting dresses from the top designers of the world and never looks anything but sensational. The actress is also said to have a bit of a mischievous streak running through her, and as a child, was sent back home from boarding school in Louisiana after causing problems for the nuns! An actress herself, she originally auditioned to play Lisa on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which would have had her unknowingly playing the girlfriend of her future husband, Will Smith. It appears we aren't the only people who think Mrs. Smith is smokin', since she was named Miss Maryland in 1988. Who said beauty queens had to be tall?

Don't know about you, but we were always Team Summer during The O.C.'s heyday. Marissa was just too annoying by the end! So of course, we still hold a place in our hearts for Rachel Bilson, who will always be Summer Roberts to us. And as we watched that show when we were growing up, we never stopped for a single second to think that she was too short. She fit perfectly next to Seth, and with her boho-inspired skirts, crocheted tops, and oversized earrings, she was our fashion icon! Bilson measures in at 5'2, but that hasn't stopped her from being the envy of girls everywhere. Dating Seth on screen, and Adam Brody in real life, essentially put her at the top of our it-girl lists around 2006! Bilson is of Italian ancestry, while her father is Ashkenazi Jewish. We guess Italians are sometimes known for being on the shorter side!

If the Mother of Dragons is pint-sized, then we don't want to be anything else! Emilia Clarke is of course best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones, however she's recently branched out into a few different roles and is beginning to establish herself as a serious actress. At 5'2, she's just a tad below the average, but she totally makes up for those two lost inches with her beauty, attitude, positivity, and ability to control prehistoric reptiles. The role of Daenerys is a huge one, and she's arguably the most prominent female character in the epic series. Considering that, Clarke has pretty much proven that authority, power, and a commanding presence have nothing to do with how tall you are, and everything to do with how much fire you can touch before your hands burn. She also actually makes those medieval-looking dresses and hairstyles seem like a good idea!

At 5'1, Lady Gaga has proven that you definitely don't need height to be a 10, nor to be the most famous pop star in the world. Though she's experienced highs and lows in the past five or so years, between 2009 and 2012, Gaga was all anybody talked about. We couldn't get enough of her music, her huge OTT tours and appearances, and of course, her out-of-this-world costumes. Personality, talent, and drive definitely do not correlate to how physically big a person is, because the “Born This Way” singer has all that in mountains, and is in reality only an itsy-bitsy gal. Even though she preaches self-acceptance, perhaps Gaga does wish she were taller, because she has been seen wearing some intensely high heels. Like, really high. She's also fallen over once or twice, but not nearly as often as we would if we had to walk in the same crazy footwear!

Anna Kendrick is another 5'2 leading lady whom you probably didn't realize was quite so tiny! Starring in the Pitch Perfect movies, and also appearing in Twilight and Into the Woods, Kendrick is a talent to be reckoned with. Not only is she an amazing actress, but we can see from the musicals she's starred in that she's a powerhouse vocalist as well. Her career began in 1998 when she was still a child and she landed a role in the Broadway musical High Society. She was even nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Featured Role - Musical, and subsequently became the second-youngest nominee in Tony history. As far as her style goes, our favorite thing about her is her confidence in her own skin-she never overdoes it with the fake tan or tries too hard in any other way, which is super refreshing. Kendrick for the win!

Onika Tanya Maraj, aka Nicki Minaj, has totally slayed the male-dominated rap world since bursting onto the scene around 2011. Anybody who even briefly knows about this Trinidadian artist, understands that she has more personality in her 5'2 frame than many others do! She is also a fan of a good pair of high heels, and has been spotted wearing some very expensive ones, but we can tell she's still cool with being little. We saw Minaj's talent straight away, when she came out with songs like “Superbass” and later, hits like “Anaconda”, plus her collection of features. In the beginning, though, Minaj portrayed herself as being incredibly quirky, and opted for taking intense fashion risks and making artistic statements with her outfits, instead of going for the chic, high-fashion look. That's all changed now, and although she still takes risks, she nails the red carpet time and time again with stylish gowns which accentuate her beauty and her booty.

Actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens has been through several transformations since she first starred as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical. But no matter how much she changes, she still manages to present herself as a fashion icon and it-girl. Her height hasn't stopped her from landing roles in films, and live productions like Grease, and it also hasn't stopped her from being coveted by millions of people.

It's been quite a few years since Charmed (tragically) wrapped up, but that doesn't mean we're quite over our Alyssa Milano obsession. We did love all the witches on that show, and each Halliwell sister brought something to the table. But middle sister Phoebe, played by Milano, was always our fave. Maybe it was the outfits the producers gave her to wear, or maybe it was because her charisma with Cole Turner still gives us chills to this day, but this woman (or witch!) will always be an icon for us! Time has passed, but she's still as hot as ever. Growing up and watching that show, we would have given anything in the world to look just like Milano, and like her co-stars, it turns out that she isn't actually all that tall! 5'2, to be exact. We guess you also don't need height to kick some demon butt when you've got the Power of Three behind you.

There are so many reasons why we're still girl crushin' on Hilary Duff. For starters, you have to respect the girl who brought us Lizzie McGuire, since that show got us through junior high. She's done some amazing things since then too, including starring in a bunch of movies that also got us through our younger days, like Raise Your Voice and Cheaper by the Dozen. And let's not forget her guest appearance on Gossip Girl, and the steaminess that went on with her, Dan, and Vanessa! Duff has also had a successful music career, and today, she's a proud mama. But most of all, we think we love Hils because unlike many others, she survived the whole child-star thing, and turned out as a positive role model for younger generations. So how tall is she? It's debated. Some sources claim 5'1, whilst some claim 5'2. But she is definitely pint-sized, and definitely brilliant!

We're not sure what it is with these shorter women also being impressively smart, but Kunis is another one who's bilingual, speaking both Russian and English fluently, as well as a little bit of Spanish. Her tiny frame adds to her allure, as she's got the perfect combination of cute and adorable, and smoking hot vibes going on! Longoria's dark hair, skin and eyes are also envied by many women, and interestingly enough, not one of the actress's siblings shares these dark features with her!
