When we first discovered Swedish duo Icona Pop, we freaked out about how much we were missing out before. Go listen to their songs and you will totally understand. These two are so good, you will hate yourself for not discovering them earlier. Icona Pop has been performing since 2009 and today, they still have a lot of secrets to be unleashed. Although of course, we will let them reveal those secrets. We'll just revel in the lesser-known facts about Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt. Apparently, they're both fans of DIY and they just can't survive this world without lipstick. Sounds great, right? There are other facts about them that will make you love them more and will make you want to buy a ticket every single time that they perform. Because they're amazing. And because they're so great at what they do. And because they're full of oh-so-positive vibes. Here are 15 things you didn't know about Icona Pop.

15 They Made The Fringe Jacket In Their "I Love It" Video

Remember those cool jackets this duo wore in the "I Love It" music video? Yeah, the cool jackets that looked like they were from Madonna's closet? Apparently, they were totally handmade. Believe it or not, your fave music stars also seem to be besties with Martha Stewart. Who the heck makes handmade fringe jackets for a music video available for the world to see? And consequently, a music video for a song they can probably consider their baby? Nobody else but Icona Pop. Now you know what you would do if ever you want to wear something but don't have it on hand. Go to the textile department of an artsy store, buy yourself some cloth and hand-stitch it. After all, there are no rules that prohibit you from hand-stitching a 20-foot tail gown. Go girl! We're sure Icona Pop would be proud of you. It would be great if you stitch while listening to their tracks too. And you will never feel tired.

14 Caroline Wants A Luxurious Tour Bus

For most people, a luxurious car and a luxurious house and endless supplies of clothes and jewelry define, well, luxury. Those are the top things you would wish for if you become rich and famous. Even just YouTube famous. Don't we all want a luxurious car and a luxurious house? Don't we all dream of having all the clothes and accessories and shoes we dream of? For Icona Pop's Caroline Hjelt, it's not about those things. The moment she realized that she was doing something super rad in the music industry, she wasn't drooling over luxurious cars and luxurious houses. Not even clothes and shoes. She was drooling over a luxurious bus. We're guessing this is a super cool tour bus. And if you think of it, it's pretty typical. Of course, she wants a luxurious bus. Maybe she wants a limo? Who knows? What we're sure of for now is that someone out there better buy that bus. She deserves it!

13 They Think Tupac Is Pop

Who thinks Tupac is pop? Seriously… who? Now we're even more confused, thanks to Icona Pop. In an interview with Pitchfork, they both talked about the artists that inspire them and, you guessed it, Tupac was part of that list. Maybe we all have Tupac on our individual lists of amazing artists. Too bad he's not around anymore. Maybe he's glad to know someone considers him pop music. And not just anyone but Icona Pop. Seriously, though, we're not sure if Tupac would take that as a compliment but we hope he does. We all need a cool Tupac in our lives. Someone who knows how to make music and make an impact. We're pretty sure that he has made lots of people fall in love with rap music. But pop music? There should be a debate here about whether or not Kanye West is pop too. Maybe The Weeknd has some opera skills?!

12 They Can't Survive Without Coffee

Just like any musician, Icona Pop deal with a pretty crazy schedule. Who knows, maybe they've even tried a week straight with no sleep because they kept saying yes to things and they didn't realize sleep is just as important as music. We all have those moments when we think sleep is less important than work or hustle or whatever you want to call it. Yeah, right. Maybe you need to rethink things now. For this duo, they can never rethink about the role of coffee in their lives. Coffee is just as important as music and sleep. And if they're like many of us, they can survive days with no proper food as long as there's coffee. If you're a tea drinker, it's about time you try caffeine, my friend. One order of hot cappuccino at Starbucks wouldn't hurt. Try it. Coffee's good. Maybe you'd like it better than tea this time. Not that we're trying to change you or something… .

11 They Think Lipstick Is EVERYTHING

With the kind of makeup they wear, people probably think they cannot live without makeup. That their luggage is composed of one giant suitcase of clothes and another giant suitcase of makeup. Seriously, how many brands of foundation and blush does a person need? For Icona Pop, they only need one lipstick. So we were all wrong when we accused them of hoarding all makeup at Macy's. For them, all they need is one lipstick and they could go on stage and perform. So these two are pretty resourceful. Aino even mentioned in an interview that “you can even use it [lipstick] as a blush if you have to” which probably means she's done it already. Maybe it's what she does every day, especially if keeping a bag of makeup (a.k.a. a bulky makeup kit) is too much. They are busy people, after all. It's not surprising they found out a way to stay picture perfect after hours of performing with only a lipstick.

10 They Love That We Love Their Fashion Sense

Who would not like their fashion sense? All of us here are obsessed with their attire, and we think you are too. Come on, do not keep it a secret. It would be great if there are many of us who are vocal about our love for their attire. Everywhere they go, from interviews to events to big concerts, Aino and Caroline always look stunning. And not the typical version of stunning. The kind of stunning that only they can show. The kind that only they can flaunt. Perhaps it is the positive vibes and the aura and the fashion sense… and maybe even the alignment of the stars? If Icona Pop had a fashion blog, giant brands in the fashion industry would probably line up and see if they could get themselves featured. They definitely appreciate the compliments. And how could you not love their fashion? Did you forget about the first point we made, they stitched their own fringe jackets! And you were totally obsessed with those.

9 They Don't Care If People Think They're Straight Or Not

Also, these two do not care if the world thinks they're lesbians. Now that is something. That is newsworthy. It's not everyday that you find people who don't care about what you think. Here's the key, friends: everybody will always have something to say about you. Whether you're rich or poor, straight or not, black or white, people are thinking machines. They will always find something to say against you and they will always think that you have some kind of flaw. Clearly, our hero Swedish duo have figured this one out. They know how complex life is if you focus on what others think. So they decided not to give a f*** about it. Because it's just a waste of time. And in real life, in outside-the-stardom life, it really is a waste of time. Even if you're an out and proud lesbian, some people will still think you're straight or too pretty to be a lesbian or many other horrible things people come up with. Let it go. Be like Icona Pop.

8 They Would Be Happy To Be Gay Icons

Also, they mentioned in the same interview in Advocate that they would be happy to be considered gay icons. We're sure many open-minded people out there would be okay with being considered a gay icon. Being a gay icon is one of the best things that can happen in this world. Okay, maybe not. Or not for everybody. But you get it… these two singers are okay with it. Period. We're not quite sure if they lost fans over it or if they received more bashes and attacked by more trolls when they expressed their thoughts about being gay icons, but we're sure they gained a lot of fans from the LGBTQ+ community. Artists have their own fans and bashers. Gay or straight, there's really nothing they can do about it and they just have to be who they are. It's sad though that some people actually care about this stuff.

7 They Both Have Trolls

Not trolls as in internet trolls. We just discussed that above. Trolls as in the toy trolls. They both have one. Or maybe not just one. Maybe they have an army of trolls. Someone please ask them because we would love to know. But for now, we know they do own trolls. Don't we all? Didn't we have that moment in life where we threw a crazy party because our mom gave us trolls and they were too cute not to party with? How many of you still have those trolls? It would be great if we can decorate our offices with them. Okay, sorry. Back to Icona Pop. They didn't just own troll toys. They also played as trolls. If you're not sure how this happened, think about the movie Trolls and you might find Icona Pop there. They voiced the twin trolls. Those two cute trolls with super hair. Yes. Chenille and Satin. They were voiced by Icona Pop and they were amazing trolls.

6 They're Swedish

Oh, did you know Icona Pop is a Swedish duo? Well, you would if you paid attention and read this article word per word. You'd also know if you're one of their really big fans who have memorized every single detail about them, down to the very detailed stuff like morning and evening regimen. Clearly, it's not only Canadians who can do really well in the global music industry (we're looking at you, Justin Bieber). Swedish artists can also survive the music industry in the US, especially if you're like Icona Pop - bold and brave and never running out of amazing music. We all have so many love songs, for Pete's sake. It's time we play more bold songs about life and YOLO and other crazy stuff. Aino and Caroline both grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. Caroline is a full-blooded Swedish while Aino was born to a Gambian father and a Finnish mother. And in 2009, they decided to make electropop a huge part of their lives.

5 Aino Loves Big Dinners

If you're allowed to do only one thing in life for the last time, what would that be? What's that one thing you just love doing? Aino's answer to this is having big dinners. Well obviously, aside from singing and making music, big dinners it is. Talk about a super unique and cool answer. Most people would say go for a shopping spree or travel or be bold and talk to Leonardo DiCaprio. Some would probably come up with crazy ideas like walk around town naked or go on a nonstop road trip for a year. For Aino, it's all about simplicity, family, friends, and food. The girl's gotta eat, you know. Such answer is just making us fall in love with Icona Pop more. This is proof that they're both typical human beings, despite the careers they have. Oh how great it would be if all artists could have this sense of simplicity.

4 'Glee' Once Covered "I Love It"

Calling all non-Glee fans: we understand you. We don't hate you. But this fact might change your thought about the show. While it can be crappy at times, please know that the only reason many people watch Glee is because they cover lots of amazing songs. Like "I Love It" by our lovely Swedish pop duo. Surely, nobody else can sing their songs better than them. Duh… it is their song. But Glee is good at covers. Perhaps their version of the song is okay. We should all watch it together and have a debate about who sang it better. Not because it's necessary but because, well, debates are fun. Seriously, though, some people think if Glee covered your song, that's something big. Not all of us here are bigtime Glee fans so we don't have much to say about this. But we love the fact that such song is being played everywhere!

3 They love Bad TV And 'Cheaters'

Who doesn't love bad TV? Whether you're bored or brokenhearted or just can't sleep in the middle of the night, bad TV is always the answer. And for Icona Pop, it's how they relax. It's how they spend any free time that they get because when traveling they don't really have any time to themselves at all. Apparently, we're not the only ones who love Cheaters because these two are also going gaga over cheating people. There are many others who are obsessed with this show too. Others including Icona Pop. People should consider producing more bad TV. It's not as bad as it seems after all. Now you know how you'd spend your free time. Also, this fun fact is a proof that Caroline and Aino are both ordinary people like us. They love to watch TV in their free time and can survive with nothing but lipstick. Well, time to refresh our standards for the best music icons and include simplicity and Cheaters lovers on top of the list.

2 Caroline's Mom Chose Their Band Name

Because when you're forming a band (or in this case, a duo) who would you ask for help when thinking about names? Your mom! Your mom once spent a lot of time thinking about what name to give you. And she maybe even fought with some family members and stuck to her list of names no matter what they said. There's no doubt that Caroline's mom loved this name too, she wasn't joking. She was serious. And now the band name is a super easy name to remember even when you're not a huge fan. How can a mom do that?  How is it possible to think of a name that works really well as a brand? Brand names are tough, you know. But not for Caroline's mom. She sounds super cool and we bet she's the best mom ever. Well, besides our own moms, of course! No one beats them.

1 They Went Clubbing With A Rabbit

If your friends are all busy and you want to go clubbing, Icona Pop has a suggestion for you: bring your pet. As long as that's a small pet and not a tiger, go ahead and bring it to the club. Apparently, pets are allowed to go clubbing too. Or are they? The first night Caroline and Aino met, they apparently went clubbing and they took a rabbit with them. Caroline's rabbit. And in case you're still confused, we're talking about an actual rabbit here. A real one. Now we have just figured out another advantage of having a pet that doesn't need a leash. You can bring them in clubs and you won't get arrested. At least there were no reports that Caroline and Aino were arrested. Maybe nobody even noticed the rabbit because everybody was so busy dancing the night away. If you feel awkward about going to clubs on your own, now you can consider bringing a pet rabbit too. Or white mice? Yep. A white mouse would be good.
