Other times, it's not so great, and they wonder why they thought this fame thing would be so great in the first place. Well, that's at least what you figure famous people must think about. It's not like you know any and it's not like you can ask them. You love following along with the lives of celebs and you read everything that you can about your favorite singers, actors, and actresses. You probably have your moments when you think that it would be pretty awesome to be a regular fixture in Hollywood. There are times, of course, when the news is anything but good, and you are pretty happy with your own life. These celebs definitely got into some trouble. Here are 15 times that celebs were exposed in public.

15 Jude Law And The Nanny

Back in the day, Jude Law was going to get married to Sienna Miller, and if you think about it, they definitely look pretty beautiful together. But they never ended up walking down the aisle. Sadly, things between the two actors fell apart pretty quickly when he was discovered having an affair with their nanny. This was public knowledge pretty much right away and it definitely seems embarrassing to have your dirty laundry aired for everyone to see, so to speak. It's hard to forget that this happened, although these days, Jude Law is only known for his roles in both film and theatre, and he was recently the star of The Young Pope. Jude was 32 at the time and Sienna was only 23, and the nanny was only 26 years old. It was definitely the definition of a scandal and it is something that has endured in the entertainment world.

14 Winona Ryder And The Shoplifting

You know Winona Ryder as one of the stars of the absolutely awesome Netflix show Stranger Things, but back in the day, she was known for something else: shoplifting. It was a huge scandal and this derailed her career for a long time. In 2001, the actress was caught stealing from Saks Fifth Avenue. Fans were shocked and this followed her around for years and years. These days, she says that this was kind of a blessing of sorts. She told Interview Magazine, "'In a weird way, it was almost like the best thing that could have happened because I'd never asked myself the question before of,"Is it okay if I'm not going to act? Is there anything else?"because that was all that I really knew." Things have definitely gotten better and have worked out, and now the second season of her beloved Netflix supernatural drama will come out this October.

13 Lindsay Lohan And The Stolen Jewelry

Lindsay Lohan has gotten into trouble for various things such as DUIs, but the thing that set her career off-track was definitely when she was caught stealing jewelry. In 2012, news broke that the actress had stolen $100,000 worth of jewelry. But the charges were actually let go after that. The reason? Apparently that there wasn't any proof or evidence. So it's not entirely known whether or not this actually took place, but it does seem like most signs point to this probably happening. Either way, Lindsay Lohan has not been seen in many movies since then, and it seems like there has been one scandal after another. She starred in her own reality show, Lindsay, on the Oprah channel but that didn't work out so well when she kept refusing to film and when she was late for obligations like magazine photo shoots.

12 Paris Hilton And The Tape

In 2004, a tape featuring Paris Hilton was made public, and this was something that she absolutely didn't want to take place. It was called "1 Night In Paris" and has been called both a tape and an adult video. Paris has said that she didn't want it to be made public and that she wasn't on board with that. Rick Salomon, the guy that Paris was sleeping with in the video, sued Paris for her comments about it. Paris then sent him back. The whole thing was settled without them needing to go to court, and Paris was given money. She reportedly wanted to give some to charity. While it does seem like things have worked out since people don't really mention this video anymore, it was definitely not a high moment in Paris's life and career. And she really didn't want anyone to see it, let alone even talk about it.

After Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris broke up, news came out that she had written his song "This Is What You Came For." No one knew that since she had written it under the pseudonym "Nils Sjoberg." Apparently they had agreed not to tell anyone that she was the actual writer, and he was pretty annoyed that she had leaked the information. Well, at least he seems to think that she was the one who made that fact public. Whether or not you believe Taylor was the one to tell everyone that is up to you. It's really pretty much impossible to know. But this is one secret that was exposed in public and that made this break-up even worse. Not that there really is such a thing as a good or amicable break-up, that is, no matter how much people might want to believe in that. A break-up sucks every single time.

Just a few short years ago, The Biebs was known more for his tendency to get into trouble than for his music. In 2013, TMZ published a video of the singer peeing in a bucket (and insulting Bill Clinton, which was a strange addition to the whole thing, that's for sure). Since Justin Bieber released his album Purpose in November of 2015, he has stayed mainly out of trouble and things like this haven't been happening. But in 2013, this was just part of the course with Justin, and there are so many other things that he did that people were scratching their heads over. It's pretty confusing, right? Why would he do something like this? Didn't he realize that he's super famous and people would probably see what he was doing… and there would probably be a video? The whole thing was just strange and gross.

Did you know that Meg Ryan (aka the star of one of the best movies ever, You've Got Mail) used to be married to Dennis Quaid? They got married in 1991 and got divorced in 2001. Things didn't work out so well for the two of them once everyone learned that she was having an affair with Russell Crowe. There is apparently more to the story, at least according to the actress. She told The Daily Mail that Dennis had also cheated on her. Unfortunately for her, she was given all the bad press and everyone was blaming her for the divorce, but it sounds like they were a bad match and that they had both had affairs. They have a son named Jack. These days, it seem like there is still some bad blood between the two of them… at least based on the fact that they have each spoken out about their break-up in various interviews.

You probably grew up knowing all the words to every single Britney Spears song. She was definitely a pop queen for a really long time. That's why it was so upsetting when, in February of 2007, she was photographed shaving her head at a hair salon in California. People were totally shocked and couldn't understand why the star would do something like this. This was a sign of a larger breakdown and she was suffering for a while. She probably didn't want people to find out about this, but unfortunately when you're a celebrity, you can't control what the public discovers about you. These days, Britney is doing so much better and it seems like she has absolutely left those days behind her. She has adorable kids and her music career is thriving once again. In 2009, things got really bad for the actress who played Marissa Cooper for three seasons of The O.C. She had a breakdown and ended up in a hospital. It seems like things came to a head at this point since before that hospital stay, she had been arrested for a DUI and had been seen partying hard. It's no secret that the constant adoration of Taylor Swift has changed a bit over the years, particularly since this one secret was exposed. She claims that she and Kanye West never talked on the phone and that she never said that she was cool with his song "Famous." The truth is that they definitely talked on the phone about it and she was okay with it. The transcript was released online and it became public knowledge. This was definitely a time when T-Swift was exposed when she didn't want to be. When Kanye said that he was going to name drop her in the song, she said, "I know, I mean it's like a compliment, kind of.” When Kanye said that he felt he should tell her ahead of time, she said, “Well, thanks, yeah.
