15 Times Meghan Markle Stole Kate's Look
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have a lot more in common than their taste in men! Duchess Kate is married to Prince William, meaning she'll one day become the Queen of England. She's known for her polished and sophisticated sense of style, which edges on the conservative side in order to be appropriate for royal functions.
Meghan has made a name for herself as a talented actress, but is gaining even more publicity now that she's dating Prince Harry, Prince William's younger brother. Rumors are swirling that the two will be getting engaged soon, meaning Meghan will soon be in a similar role as Kate.
Since these women share such a similar sense of style, Meghan won't need to change much when she starts making appearances at royal events. On more than one occasion, these famous ladies seemed like they were wearing outfits straight out of each other's closets. They both have their own individual way of styling and accessorizing their looks. So, you be the judge- Who wore the look better?
15 Ravishing In Red
Clearly red is a good color on both ladies! Kate and Meghan's dresses have an identical hue as well as a similar design. The actress went for a plunging, sweetheart-inspired neckline that showed off her ample bust, whereas Kate was fashion-forward in an asymmetrical neckline that flaunted her gorgeous collarbones.
Both stars accessorized their red dresses differently. While they both had the same style of stiletto, Meghan opted for ones in a nude color and Kate picked ones in the same color as her dress.
Her red clutch was also the same shade as her outfit, while Meghan was seen carrying a large black purse (which, tbh, didn't really match the vibe of her look. The brunettes also styled their long locks differently. Meghan opted to wear her hair down, while Kate looked sophisticated in a classy up-do.
14 A Casual Outing
These ladies also share a similar sense of style even when they're dressing down. On separate occasions, both celebs rocked trendy olive jackets paired with jeans, boots, and a hat. Meghan looked hip in her street style-inspired looked. She paired her army jacked with skinny jeans, combat boots, and a grey beanie. She went incognito with a pair of round frames and also sported a cute side bag.
Kate looked preppy in the way she styled her green jacket. She also wore a similar pair of skinny blue jeans, but she paired them with a pair of hunter green rain boots (in the same shade as her jacket!). She threw on a paperboy cap to hide her dark locks and finished the look with a patriotic bandana tied around her neck. We can't decide if we prefer Meghan's urban look, or Kate's classic sense of style!
13 Black Is Better
Obviously both gals know the importance of a little black dress. Honestly, these two could pass for the same person in these identical outfits- or at least you could convince us that they were wearing the same dress. Meghan and Kate rocked black wrap dresses that highlighted their hourglass figures. Both dresses had a low-cut V-neck that showed off a bit of cleavage.
The only difference was that Meghan's dress had a generous slit going up the middle revealing her long legs, while Kate's frock was more on the conservative side. The brunettes even wore their hair in a similar loosely curled style- gorgeous! Meghan is already dressing like a British royal, so if she does marry into the family she's going to have no problem adjusting her style to be more like Kate's.
12 Wrapped In Blue
These girls clearly love their wrap dresses! For a royal appearance, Kate looked refined and glowing in her stunning blue dress. The long-sleeve design gave it a more conservative feel that's appropriate for a royal event, but the wrap design showed off her enviable figure and still made it feel modern. She wore her hair in loose waves and accessorized with a pair of classic black heels.
During a promo event, Meghan showed up in a dress that was noticeably similar to Kate's. It had the same brilliant blue shade and wrap design that showed off her curves. Meghan's frock showed off more skin, as it was sleeveless and had a deeper neckline, but that made it perfect for the red carpet. She went a different route with her shoes, opting for a pair of strappy sandals with a pretty blue design. Just like Kate, she left her long locks flowing. #Beautiful!
11 Putting It Off
The off-the-shoulder trend has been going strong for a while, so obviously both of these style icons had to jump on the bandwagon! This is one of Kate's best looks yet. The Duchess rocked the off-the-shoulder look in a dark floral hue. The dress showed off her stunning arms and physique (we need to know who her personal trainer is!). She wore her hair in a classy up-do and accessorized with a pair of statement earrings and a sparkly bracelet.
Meghan was a show-stopped in this black sequinned number. Her dress wasn't flowy on the bottom like Kate's, but instead hugged her gorgeous figure. The flashy sequins were perfect for the red carpet event. Meg tied the whole look together with her dark smoky eye and sparkly accessories. She let her dress do the talking by pulling her long hair back in a sleek ponytail.
10 Patterned Princess
Both women know how to rock a bold pattern! While their dresses aren't identical, Kate and Meghan wore equally bold dresses in a similar flattering cut. Meghan stepped out in this navy blue floral number.
The knee-length hemline and long sleeves gives the frock the royal family stamp of approval, but the figure-hugging cut still keeps the look fresh. Kate paired a matching burgundy clutch and heels with the dress, while wearing her hair in loose waves.
Meghan's look would also be appropriate for a royal event! Her art-deco printed dress had hints of red, blue, and orange throughout. She accessorized with a pair of gorgeous black, strappy heels, and tried a new hairstyle by wearing her locks pin straight. The long sleeves and hemline alone were identical to Kate's dress!
9 Keeping It Classic
You can't call yourself stylish if you don't know how to rock a crisp button-down with jeans! Though they're both fashion forward, Kate and Meghan had different ways of styling this classic combo. Kate wore a ruffled white blouse with a pair of skinny jeans. To keep the look professional, she paired it with a navy blazer and some killer pointy heels.
Meghan went a different route with a pair of wide-legged jeans and a plain white button-down tucked in. Like Kate she wore a brown belt with the look, but hers was a lot smaller. She also opted for a similar pair of pointy shoes, although they're so pointy they could totally be used as a weapon! Both ladies wore their brown hair down, giving this business casual look a more dressed-down feel.
8 Teal For The Night
Granted, both women's dresses are in a different cut and style, but the vibrant teal color is what makes their looks seem so similar. Kate looked like the Princess she is in this flowy gown. The plunging neckline showed off her great collarbones, while the loose chiffon skirt didn't make this look too sexy. The gown perfect showed off her tiny waist, while having her hair up shows off the dress' gorgeous neckline.
Meghan looked striking in this teal mermaid dress. The figure-hugging design showed off her beautiful body, but the high neckline also saved this dress from being too risqué. Like Kate, she wore her hair up in order to show off the top of the dress. Her minimal accessories made sure that the dress was the focal point of her look. Now we need to go out and find a frock in this color!
7 It's All In The Details
Asymmetrical necklines were all the rage a while back, and here's how each lady put their own twist on this trend. While both of their dresses are in a jewel-tone blue color, they are different shades.
Meghan went for a deeper hue. Her strapless dress hugs her figure, while the asymmetrical detailing on the top builds all the way up to her neck. Since she wore her hair down, it does hide a bit of the neckline, but the gorgeous details in the dress are still clear!
Kate's bright blue dress also hugs her curves, but it features a deeper V-cut neckline. The cold-shoulder cut-outs offer a little something different, while having sleeves gives the dress a more polished look. She also wore her hair down, which hid a bit of her intricate neckline, but she still looked as stunning as ever!
6 Nothing But Nude
A dress in this beige shade wouldn't look good on everyone, but boy does it look stunning on both Kate and Meghan! Like usual, Kate wore a dress that was more on the conservative side. The capped sleeves and round neckline offered sophisticated details, along with her pointed heels, black clutch, and classy necklace. The dress was also more conservative in the cut and style, as it didn't highlight her figure like other outfits she's been seen in.
Meghan looked a little bit like a bridesmaid (but in a cute way) when she rocked this look on the red carpet! The bow detailing on the one shoulder added a funky aspect to the dress, while the frock still managed to show off her great physique without being too short. Meg elongated her legs with a pair of pointed nude heels, and opted for gold accessories rather than her typical silver ones.
5 Loving The Lace
In these photos, both ladies were wearing the exact same dress- though in different lengths! For a black tie event, Kate showed up in the floor-length version of this lace gown. She rocked it in a safe black shade and looked every inch of the Duchess she is. She wore her hair up in a chic chignon and went for classic accessories, including sparkly earrings and a tiny black clutch.
Meghan was a bit more dressed-down as she opted for the mini version of this dress in navy blue. The see-through lace showed off her arms, while the shorter hemline flaunted her long legs. She kept the look more casual by wearing her long hair down and not dressing the outfit up with too many gaudy accessories. Obviously these girls have a similar sense of style if they show up to events in the same dresses!
4 The Statement Skirt
Even though the pieces in their outfits were completely different, somehow Kate and Meghan's outfit still ended up being almost identical. For a royal event, Kate rocked an eye-catching black and white print pencil skirt. She paired it with a white blazer along with black pumps and a black headpiece, reminding us all how much of a Duchess she is!
During a red carpet event, Megan wore a similar pencil skirt, with the only difference being the pattern and hints of green throughout. She paired this look with a low-cut white blouse that she tucked in. Just like Kate, she also wore a pair of black heels, although she opted out of the headpiece. We need to take a page out of these stars' wardrobe and try to recreate this look!
3 Little Black Dresses
Both women were potted in similar see-through black dresses. As per usual, Kate took a more sophisticated approach to her look. Her dress covered her arms and went down to her knee, though it still flaunted her petite frame and modern sense of style. She opted for a safe pair of black pumps, but made the look a bit more interesting with a bright red clutch. Her normally wavy hair was worn straighter than usual.
Meghan's dress had a similar see-through pattern, except the sleeves were shorter and exposed her arm and chest. She switched things up with a pair of gold, strappy heels and matching earrings. She wore her brown locks in an old Hollywood-inspired 'do, which is giving us major hair envy. Where do we find a dress as cute as theirs?
2 Perfecting Boho Chic
We're used to seeing Kate in more sophisticated numbers, but she looked fresh for the summer in this Hawaiian print maxi dress. Kate's beachy dress combined a variety of gorgeous pink colors in this tropical floral print. She paired the look with- gasp- a pair of tall tan wedges and let her hair flow. The look was even strapless, something we're not used to seeing on the Duchess. And we love it!
Meghan wore a similar bohemian-inspired dress. It had a beautiful tie-die print with blues and pinks, which totally gave us summer vibes. Similar to Kate's dress, it was strapless and flowed over her torso. Meghan's hairstyle was also casual as she wore it sleek and straight. We could totally see ourselves wearing a similar dress as Kate's and Meghan's to some sort of summer party!
1 That '70s Print
Both women showed their love for the '70s with their funky-printed dresses. Each dress combined white, greys, and blues to create such an intricate design. Kate's dress was long-sleeved and cinched at her waist. The round neckline showed off a bit of cleavage, but she compensated by covering up her legs with black tights. She paired the look with a large white bag, which was very reminiscent of the early 2000s.
Meghan's look is more true to what's in style today. Her short-sleeve shift dress showed off her tones arms and legs, while the high neckline balance out the amount of skin she was showing. She kept her accessories simple with a pair of thick bangles and a pair of classic black heels. Both ladies look stunning in these matching outfits (just like they did in all of them!), so there's only one question left- Who do you think wore it better?
