15 Women Who Got It On With Major Musicians
For every musician, there's always going to be a whole load of groupie chicks waiting to give them a very special type of after show. The women in this entry are the very select few who managed to share such an experience. Some of these girls did everything they could to get close to the rock stars they idolized. Others made careers from their experiences, making grand media appearances where they explicitly revealed the sordid details of their intimate stories to the world. The majority of the women have, in one way or another, been involved with Mick Jagger. This list compiles some of the most iconic names in groupiedom, as well as some you may not have known had a groupie backstory. From substance fuelled intimate parties, to private tapes, and an obligatory kiss and tell, these are the women who have lived out your deepest, most intimate fantasies - unless you're one of them!
15 Tati Neves
Towards the end of 2013 a bizarre short video, of a very sleepy Justin Bieber being watched by a mysterious lady blowing kisses at him, caused quite an online sensation. But just who was this enigmatic girl? A Brazilian model by the name of Tati Neves. The pair crossed paths while Biebs was in town for his Believe world tour, and Bieber allegedly invited Neves to spend the night with him. The consequent video was leaked by Neves's friend; Neves claims that she intended for the video to be seen by only the friend, as proof of her conquest. A now deleted Facebook post captioned "Thanks for the fresh dolla bills Justin Bieber" fueled rumors that the 'model' was actually a street worker, but Neves fervently denied everything in a tell-all story with British tabloid The Sun. “It was marvelous and unforgettable”, Neves recalled of her time with Justin. Get it girl!
14 Mariah Yeater
What is it with Justin Bieber and groupies?! Two years before Tati Neves's video, Justin was caught up in the biggest scandal of his career, and a real life “Billie Jean” experience - he was allegedly the father of one fan's new-born baby. The fan in question, then-20 year old Mariah Yeater, claimed to have met Bieber at a concert, after supposedly being whisked backstage and hitting it off with the teen heartthrob instantly. According to the Californian, her intimate experience with then-17 year old Bieber lasted just 30 seconds, and was “his first time”. In a surprising turn of events, Yeater's claims were dropped after Bieber's paternity test showed he wasn't the baby's father. Bieber stayed relatively quiet about the experience, until he decided to fend Yeater once and for all with the song “Maria” on his Believe LP.
13 Catya Washington
Catya Washington, of Bad Girls Club season 5 fame, made headlines in 2011 when she shockingly revealed on the show that she had a romantic history with rapper Drake. Washington claims that the two hit it off on the set for Drake's “Best I Ever Had” video, and that things grew from there. The pair dated for a month before becoming official, and Washington even moved from Philadelphia to Drake's hometown Toronto so they could be closer, geographically. “I was in love, he was in love… I'm talking family dinners and we in Whole Foods pushing the cart around. It was a regular relationship,” she reminisced on radio station Hot 107.9. Washington called it off with Drizzy after a spat they had regarding her then-upcoming stint on Bad Girls Club. Washington went on to scandalously refer to Drake as a “phenomenal peach eater”, and that she has good memories of his “Mandingo”.
12 Carmen Electra
Tara Leigh Patrick, better known as Carmen Electra, has had quite a lengthy showbiz career. Electra got her first comeup during the early 90s, when she signed with then-boyfriend Prince's record label Paisley Park Records and released her panned self-titled LP. It was also at this point that Prince blessed her with the stage name Carmen Electra. Electra found success as an actress on Baywatch (alongside fellow entry Pamela Anderson) and propelled herself into the public eye with sexual nude appearances in Playboy (anyone else noticing some trends here?). Electra seems to have a special interest for musicians as she is also known for her colorful dating history, which includes flings with Mark McGrath, Tommy Lee, and Fred Durst, an engagement to Rob Pattison from Korn, as well as a marriage to drummer Dave Navarro. It is even widely rumored that Electra and rock n roll's queen Joan Jett hooked up at some point!
11 Jerry Hall
American model Jerry Hall became a household name by gracing the covers of global magazines, including Italian Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Hall's trademark long, blonde hair had been featured on over 40 covers by 1977, and her clout saw her raking in $1,000 a day. Hall's modelling career led to her first musical man, Roxy Music's lead singer Bryan Ferry. The glamazon modeled on the artwork for the band's 1975 album, Siren. Despite establishing herself as a model, Hall eventually became just as well known for being the love of Mick Jagger's life. The couple married in 1990 after meeting in 1976, and had four children together. Unfortunately, Jagger's infidelity led to their marriage crumbling in 1999. Hall is now settled with media tycoon Rupert Murdoch.
10 Janice Dickinson
This entry may be a surprise, as most people know Janice Dickinson as the world's first supermodel (a self-proclaimed yet dubious title). However, Dickinson is well-known for her wild personal life, and several of the “one thousand men” she claims to have slept with just so happen to be world famous musicians. Speaking on her time with Mick Jagger, the ever-witty Dickinson remarked she “can't get no satisfaction”, and nicknamed the Rolling Stones star “Sir Mick with a little di*k.” It's not just male musicians the bisexual beauty has hooked up with - Dickinson further revealed that she had a threesome which involved the eccentric electronic singer Grace Jones!
9 Sweet Connie Hamzy
Connie Parente, better known by her groupie name Sweet Connie Hamzy, made a name for herself as the go-to groupie for any band passing through Little Rock, Arkansas. The 700 to 1,000 men on her list include Alice Cooper, Keith Moon, and Gene Simmons, plus the members of Grand Funk Railroad, who solidified Hamzy's status in pop culture with the lyric “Sweet, sweet Connie, doin' her act / She had the whole show and that's a natural fact” from their hit “We're an American Band”. Her sexcapades were brazenly detailed in a 1974 Cosmopolitan feature, a 1992 article for Penthouse, and a 2010 interview with Howard Stern. You can get all of the juicy details about her stories in her shocking memoir, Rock Groupie: The Intimate Adventures of "Sweet Connie" from Little Rock.
8 Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson
If you don't recognize the name Cassandra Peterson, you will certainly recognize the name of her horror show character Elvira. Elvira has become a household name since the 80s thanks to her skin tight, cleavage enhancing black gowns, black bee hive hair, and Valley girl voice. But before that? “I was a big groupie,” Peterson revealed in an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now? She dated none other than the King, Elvis Presley, after she caught his attention during her stint as a topless dancer in Las Vegas. Presley pushed Peterson to leave Vegas and pursue her acting career. Surprisingly, Peterson was not after nookie with any of the musicians she tracked down, including Jimi Hendrix and Buffalo Springfield; “The whole time I was trying to avoid losing my virginity… I was a music freak” she commented. However, Peterson does have one graphic groupie story which she shared in 2008 - she lost her virginity to Tom Jones, who was such a rough lover that Peterson required stitches afterwards!
7 Bebe Buell
This American model and singer's career was kick-started by an appearance as Playboy's Playmate of the Month in November 1974. The rock stars “came a-hunting” after that, Buell claims. Buell went on to become involved with Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Steven Tyler, and, yep you guessed it, Mick Jagger. Her brief fling with Steven Tyler resulted in the birth of their daughter, renowned model and actress Liv Tyler. Buell has a history of marrying musicians, and she is currently married to Jim Walters from the band Das Damen. Despite her romantic connections to an abundance of musicians, Buell interestingly rejects the notion of being a groupie, remarking that she considers groupie to be a “sexist term”.
6 Pamela Anderson
Who doesn't already know the sex symbol Pamela Anderson? The busty blonde bounced into mainstream consciousness with her iconic role as C. J. Parker on Baywatch, as well as numerous nude appearances in Playboy. Despite her accomplishments as an actress and a philanthropist, Anderson became the inadvertent star of an infamous 1995 tape with then-husband Tommy Lee, of the rock band Mötley Crüe. The intimate, stolen tape became iconic for its scandalous leak onto the burgeoning Internet by a scorned former employee, as well as the several years of consequential drama surrounding its existence. The couple eventually signed releases, and the tape went on to make over $77 million. Anderson's tape set the blueprint for fame-via-s*x tape stars, like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.
5 Tawny Kitaen
Julie “Tawny” Kitaen is one of the original video vixens of the 80s. After making a name for herself alongside Tom Hanks in the box office hit Bachelor Party, Kitaen became romantically involved with Whitesnake band member David Coverdale. Consequently, Kitaen made iconic appearances in five of Whitesnake's music videos, such as those for "Here I Go Again", "Still of the Night", and "Is This Love". The most recognized of these is unarguably when Kitaen spectacularly performed sexy acrobatics over the hood of two cars in “Is This Love”, thus cementing her place in pop culture. Kitaen and Coverdale married in 1989, but divorced in 1991 following Kitaen's wild affair with O.J. Simpson.
4 Kat Stacks
Kat Stacks was born Andrea Herrera in Venezuela, but immigrated illegally to the US at the age of 8. By age 14, Herrera was tragically being pimped out by her then-boyfriend, known only as “Prince”, for $200. After being clocked for her expired Visa, Herrera took on the Kat Stacks persona via blogging. In 2010, Stacks partnered with WorldStarHipHop, the self-proclaimed “CNN of the ghetto”, by sharing videos of herself bragging about her intimate encounters with several high profile rappers, including Lil Wayne, Nelly, and Bow Wow - experiences she later claimed were concocted for “entertainment”. Stacks' new found fame as one of the Internet's most hated personas led to serious legal troubles, when she was put on indefinite immigration hold in November 2010. She was freed after three years and granted a T Visa, a special Visa granted to victims of human trafficking. Stacks attempted to put her unruly persona behind her and use her exposure for good, by telling her story in her 2014 autobiography Admiring Andrea: Surviving Savagery to Save Lives.
3 Roxana Shirazi
Roxana Shirazi's tale varies quite largely from the other entries in this list. Shirazi moved to England from Iran as a child, and grew up on rock n roll music to escape the racist bullying she suffered at school. Over time, Shirazi became immersed in the rock n roll lifestyle - particularly the part where she got to have wild, animalistic nookie with the men fronting the genre. Shirazi's experiences became the backbone of her brazen book The Last Living Sl*t: Born in Iran, Bred Backstage. The memoir, which supposedly “makes Pamela Des Barres' I'm With the Band read like a nun's diary in comparison”, received widespread disapproval from the Muslim community for Shirazi's graphic depictions of intimacy and overdoses. Shirazi scandalously claimed in the book that Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates urinated on her (“The rush was like a roller coaster”), and that Dizzy Reed from Guns N' Roses accidentally got her pregnant and pressured her to have an abortion.
2 Karrine “Superhead” Steffans
Since appearing in the music video for Jay-Z's “Hey Papi” in 1999, Karrine Steffans became a high-profile video vixen. She modeled in over twenty hip hop music videos for some of rap's biggest names, such as Akon, Ja Rule, Juelz Santana, and Twista. The man who introduced her to this life is inspirational rap icon Kool G Rap. However, Steffans didn't just model in videos for these rap stars - she also dabbled in some carnal pleasures with them. Her salacious 2005 memoir, Confessions of a Video Vixen, revealed everything and became a New York Times Bestseller. During the book, Steffans revealed the backstory behind her nickname Superhead; it was attributed to her by Ja Rule, because of her exceptional fellatio skills. When talking about her time with Jay-Z, Steffans sensationally claimed that “you can't stand looking at him when he's on top”. Steffans' claims about Jay-Z in particular seemed legitimized after she made headlines (again) in 2016 by 'outing' herself as “Becky with the good hair”, a nickname for one of Jay-Z's alleged mistresses alluded to in Beyoncé's Lemonade album.
1 Pamela Des Barres
Pamela Des Barres is iconic not just for the sheer amount of musicians she's gone all the way with, but for how savvy enough she was to be able to turn those moments of lust into a fruitful career. Des Barres established herself as the groupie of all groupies during the 60s and 70s, by spending wild nights with Mick Jagger, Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, Jim Morrison, and many more. Des Barres then famously recounted her groupie life across two memoirs, 1987's I'm With the Band and 1993's Take Another Little Piece of My Heart - memoirs widely rumored to have inspired Penny Lane's character in the critically acclaimed movie Almost Famous. She's also personally told her story to media bigwigs, like Oprah and Larry King, and has gone on to teach women's writing classes to her self-proclaimed “dolls”. Pamela Des Barres is, quite simply, the archetypal groupie.
