The Gossip Girl Cast Where Are They Now?
The cast of your favorite teen drama has moved on from the Upper East side -- some more than others. Have you noticed that there are some names that you just don't read about anymore? It might shock you to see what these actors are doing now! Hollywood sweethearts like Leighton Meester and Blake Lively haven't forsaken fame, so their stars are still rising, but what about the other Gossip Girl stars? Which one declared bankruptcy? Which star is now filming a zombie apocalypse? You fell in love with Blair, Nate, Serena, and Chuck, so of course you want to know where the actors and actresses that brought these amazing characters to life have ended up. Are you wondering where the cast of Gossip Girl is right now? Don't look any further! Here is all that you need on who has babies and who is playing a naughty hustler on a new television series. Here's what the cast is up to now!
15 Jessica Szohr
She might not have been everyone's favorite character on the show since she often created chaos and worked her way into love triangles she didn't belong in. But Vanessa Abrams was an important part of the show for the first four seasons. So where is she now? If it seems like she has been flying under the radar, that's because she totally has. Since Gossip Girl, she has been in a few movies such as Ted 2, and she also landed a recurring role in the TV drama Kingdom. She recently appeared in a trailer for the revival of the show Twin Peaks, so if you're yearning to touch base with her, maybe it's time to check that out. In 2015, she was also caught dating Scotty McKnight, a former pro football player. Even if she wasn't your favorite character, you have to admit that Jessica Szohr is a talented actress. Since Vanessa Abrams, she hasn't found a role as lucrative yet.
14 Connor Paolo
Can you believe that Serena's little brother in already 26 years old? After he exited Gossip Girl, Connor Paolo had a recurring role on the television show Revenge… well, until his character was killed off in the second season. Where is little van der Woodsen now? Well, have you heard of Stake Land? Nope, neither have we! It's a movie series about the zombie apocalypse and has been called a super intense horror movie. Yup, the star of the movies is none other than Connor Paolo. Eric has gone a long way from living on the Upper East Side. We aren't sure if we can believe the transformation! Connor hasn't completely and utterly disappeared from the media, so if you're interested in seeing how dramatically he has changed, it might be time for a girls' horror movie night. It could be intriguing, right? While some Gossip Girl stars have stayed in the limelight, it looks like Connor has slipped away from it.
13 Penn Badgley
It's Gossip Girl himself! Penn Badly has gone through some interesting transitions… like when he dyed his hair blonde. We'll forgive you for that, Penn, but has everyone heard the news that he is no longer a Lonely Boy? Yup, it was reported earlier this year that Penn married singer Domino Kirke in a courthouse. Obviously some Gossip Girl fans were startled to discover that they tied the knot there instead of having a more traditional large wedding, but sometimes love just can't wait. Weddings are expensive, right? Instead of focusing on television and film, Penn has been more involved with his band, and they released their debut album in 2016, a few years after their song became popular on SoundCloud. This cast has always been full of surprises, but their lives have majorly changed since Gossip Girl ended. Penn is married and singing his heart out now, though, and we couldn't be happier for him.
12 Kelly Rutherford
The woman behind Serena's mother has been through a lot in her personal life since Gossip Girl ended. She had a highly publicized divorce from her second husband and they had a battle over the custody of their children. It was decided that her kids would stay with her ex-husband and she would have to travel to France in order to see them. Her husband was deported to France after his visa was revoked. She eventually had to declare bankruptcy. Many people were outraged over the outcome as it seems completely unfair. As far as her career, she's had a few small film roles and has gained a recurring role on the hit show Quantico. It's fair to say we miss her questionable motherly decisions and the way that she was always pining over Rufus. Maybe one day we'll see her in a similar role! We know what a powerful woman she is.
11 Taylor Momsen
Taylor is one of the GG cast members better known for something other than acting. So what is she so known for? She is in the band The Pretty Reckless. She quit acting to pursue her music career, after all! Since Gossip Girl, she hasn't been in any movies or television series at all and has been diligently working on music year in and year out. Her third album was released back in October of 2016, and she has found an incredible amount of success and fame. Yup, acting wasn't the end all be all for Little J. Her band has even broken records, becoming the first female fronted band to reach number one on the rock radio charts. We totally miss her -- and we even kind of miss the days when we thought that she might be Gossip Girl -- but you'll always stay connected to her if you're a fan of her music.
10 Zuzanna Szadkowski
Dorota became a fan favorite for a reason, and we miss her! But where has she moved on to? Zuzanna isn't in the spotlight as much as she used to be, but she has had a few minor roles in various shows such as Elementary in 2015, The Good Wife in 2016, and Girls in 2017. Did you know The CW also launched a six episode web series about your favorite Polish maid? She has also appeared in short films like The Pilot Season Survival Guide and Where Is Joel Baum?. She has been keeping busy while we've been missing her hilarious antics while she tries to keep Blair in check. At 38 years old, we expect to see her in more breakthrough roles in the next few years. It's impossible not to love Zuzanna, right? She might have been one of the best actresses in all of Gossip Girl, which is why she was cherished by the show's cult following!
9 Chace Crawford
From making a brief appearance on the musical drama Glee to landing a starring role on the primetime soap opera Blood & Oil, Chace has moved on from Gossip Girl and kept his career alive and buzzing. While his lead role in Blood & Oil was cut short when the series was canceled after only ten episodes, he also starred in the comedy Mountain Men, and now has a recurring role on the comedy show Casual. He's still dating his Blood & Oil costar Rebecca Rittenhouse, so his personal life is sizzling as always! He's a heartthrob, so the real question might be when isn't his personal life on fire?! It's clear he will be on our television screens for a while since he's had no struggles landing various roles, so it won't be too hard to catch that gorgeous face on your screen. Yup, we totally re-watch Gossip Girl just for you, Nate Archibald!
8 Wallace Shawn
Did you forget about this quirky character? We can all remember Blair's reaction when she met her mom's soon-to-be husband, but the relationship they formed was one of the most memorable on the entire show. Sure, sometimes he made you cringe thanks to the odd things he said, but at the end of the series, he was totally loveable. The list of roles he's had in both movies and television shows is literally a mile long, and he hasn't slowed down since he stopped playing Cyrus Rose. He's mostly been involved in voice overs, particularly for Club Penguin series. He's also been involved in a few smaller films, such as Animal Crackers, Vamps, and Maggie's Plan. At 73 years old, there is no sign of him slowing down, and considering how frequently his voice acting is used, it might surprise you how easy it is to hear from him!
7 Matthew Settle
It might sadden you to know that Matthew Settle has stayed away from television since his role as Rufus Humphrey came to a close. In 2016, he appeared in one episode of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, but that has been it! He has found some movies roles since Gossip Girl, however, and has appeared in films like Ouija and Marshall the Miracle Dog. In 2015, he and his long-time girlfriend Maria Alfonsin welcomed their daughter Nalu into the world! He has another daughter with his ex-wife. While his personal life might be more exciting than his professional one currently, we can keep our fingers crossed that could change so we could see a little more of our favorite television dad. We'll always keep the spark of Lily and Rufus alive in our hearts, but we're happy to know it looks like he's majorly enjoying life with his family!
6 Margaret Colin
Was Eleanor Waldorf your favorite mom on the show? Like some of the other former cast members, this actress has been in a few episodes of various shows. Where is she now? After appearing briefly in shows like Gotham, Madam Secretary, and The Good Wife, she's now appearing in newer shows such as Shades of Blue. While she starred in many movies early on in her career, that part of her life seems to be on pause since Gossip Girl entered her life. Currently, Margaret Colin isn't predominantly in the spotlight, but we hope that she returns to a powerful role like the one she had on Gossip Girl. While she and many other previous cast members are laying low, maybe now is the time for a Gossip Girl reunion? It totally needs to happen! The parents on the series were always making questionable choices, but we miss them just as much as their children, so they were definitely memorable!
5 Blake Lively
Not only has her career boomed since Gossip Girl, but so has her family! Thanks to recent roles in films like The Age of Adaline, Cafe Society, and The Shallows, Blake has remained in the spotlight more than any other member of the cast. She has just given birth to her second child a little less than a year ago! Her and Ryan Reynolds are one of the most popular couples in Hollywood, and back in December, they showcased their daughters James and Ines to the world. So where is Blake now? She's living the dream with the perfect family while her career continues to grow! Sounds good to us! She was the It Girl in the realm of Gossip Girl, and she's the It Girl in the real world, too. While it doesn't look like she'll delve back into the world of television any time soon, it's clear that we'll be hearing every detail about Blake's life forever.
4 Robert John Burke
Where is the evil dad of Chuck today? Definitely not faking his own death, but we saw enough of that on Gossip Girl! Robert John Burke may have only been in 19 episodes of the teen show but he certainly left his mark on fans. Since his role as Bart Bass, he's starred in movies such as 2 Guns in 2013 and True Story in 2015. He also appeared on the television series Nurse Jackie in 2014. Since then, Bart has been laying low like he did for almost the entirety of the Gossip Girl series, but it's hard not to be intrigued about what this curious character could be up to. Like a large portion of the cast, he continues to fly under the radar, but we're sure we'll see his face in upcoming roles eventually. It will certainly bring back nightmares of his reappearance. It totally freaked us out more than it scared Chuck!
3 Ed Westwick
Ed Westwick is still Chuck Bass somewhere in another dimension… at least in the pop culture world! If your heart is yearning for the bad boy, you might not have to look too far. These days, he's starring on the crime series Snatch, and this heartthrob is playing a naughty hustler. Yup, you heard us right, you could be watching Ed playing a naughty hustler right this very moment if you wanted! What are you waiting for?! He has also been in recent films like Billionaire Ransom and The Crash. While it might thrill you to know that Ed is currently single, it probably won't stay that way for long. He's totally irresistible, and while it didn't work out between him and Jessica Szohr or Phoebe Tonkin, we know his Blair is out there somewhere. Is that what Ed is doing right this very moment? Looking for his Blair? Between playing a hustler and looking for true love, Ed has been keeping busy.
2 Michelle Trachtenberg
While she might have played the villain on Gossip Girl, she found a way to worm herself into our hearts occasionally. Michelle Trachtenberg is also one of the cast members that has been keeping very busy! She was a guest judge on Chopped Junior and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and she also appeared in episodes of Sleepy Hollow and NCIS: Los Angeles. She also was in the movie Sister Cities back in 2016, but her film career hasn't been as busy. It's unclear if she's currently dating anyone, but she's definitely smart to keep her personal life out of the spotlight. Do you miss Georgina Sparks? While we guarantee Michelle isn't plotting against her friends right now, it's good to see she's keeping busy with her career. We can definitely imagine her landing a role in another soap opera, right? That's something we'd love to see because few can do it better than Michelle.
1 Leighton Meester
Since Gossip Girl, our queen has been keeping busy with her career and starting a beautiful family. After marrying Adam Brody in 2014 (yup, Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen married each other!), Leighton welcomed daughter Arlo into the world in 2015. While she had had roles in various films since her role as Blair Waldorf ended, it's mainly been her music career that she's been focusing on. In 2014, she released her debut LP Heartstrings. She's also been featured in endorsements and modeling gigs and has been the face of Naf Naf, a French brand, and appeared in advertisements for Jimmy Choo. If you want to stay close to Leighton, it's a good idea to listen to her music. Her songs have been compared to other ethereal singer-songwriters like Tori Amos, and she might become one of your favorite artists! While Leighton is the perfect example of how the cast has dramatically branched off, we still love to see how they're doing now, five years later!
