12 Celebs You Won't Believe Are The Same Age
When it comes to their appearance, celebrities have it a little bit easier than average individuals. Sure, they're human just like us. However, their job is to look good, so many of them have a personal chef, personal trainer, dermatologist, professional make-up artist and more on their team. They may not need to look red carpet ready every day, but they have those tools at their disposal whenever they need them. So, many celebrities can end up looking far, far younger than their actual age thanks to careful living. Additionally, sometimes celebrities are just blessed with youthful genes that keeps them looking younger than their years without many lifestyle changes. It's a bit of a coin toss, and some celebrities just come out on top.
The perception of one's age isn't solely about appearance, though - attitude can play into it, and some celebrities just seem mature and older than their years while others seem like they're fresh out of high school. Age is really just a number - one can look much older or much younger than their actual age.
People of the same age often look drastically different in real life, so why wouldn't the same rule apply in Hollywood? Here are 12 celebrities that you will not believe are the same age.
12 John Stamos and Mike Meyers
John Stamos rose to fame playing the lovable rock star Jesse Katsopolis on the sitcom Full House, and fans were treated to a cameo or two on the revival show, Fuller House. Jesse strolled in, and quite honestly, looked pretty much the same as he did when the original show aired - perhaps a few more wrinkles here and there and a less '90s haircut, but still an absolute babe. You would totally never guess that Stamos is actually 52 years old. You know who's the same age as him? Comedian Mike Meyers, from the Austin Powers film franchise. Now, we're not saying that Meyers looks bad for his age - but he definitely looks like a celeb in his 50s, whereas Stamos could pass for much younger (and let's not even talk about how amazing his tv wife Lori Loughlin looks).
11 Sandra Bullock and Kim Richards
Okay, we're just going to go ahead and say it - Sandra Bullock is a goddess amongst women. She's quick as a whip in interviews, she seems like a phenomenal and caring mother, and she's brought us several of our favourite romantic comedies. I mean, she's America's sweetheart. And she obviously has some type of beauty secrets, because she looks pretty much the same today as when she first stepped out on the red carpet, even though she's an astonishing 51 years old. That's right - she looks better than most 30-somethings hope to look, but she's in her 50s. Kim Richards, who you'll recognize from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, didn't age quite so well. Unlike Sandy, who tends to look fairly natural, Kim favours a fake tan, bleached blonde hair, and heavier makeup, all of which ages her.
10 Jim Parsons and Andrew Lincoln
Jim Parsons is a tricky one when it comes to guessing ages. On the one hand, most people who are fans know that it took him awhile to get his big break in Hollywood, which was of course as Dr. Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. However, while you might peg him in his early 30s at the latest, Parsons is actually 42! While he's been playing a genius scientist, Andrew Lincoln rose to fame in his role running from zombies on The Walking Dead. Lincoln is totally sexy, but thanks to his silver fox hair and beard and crow's feet, he's a far more believable 42.
9 Carly Rae Jepsen and Keira Knightley
It can be tough to pinpoint Keira Knightley's age, since she's been in the entertainment industry for so long. She started her acting career as a child, and got her first truly memorable role in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace at 14. She became a household name once she snagged roles in Bend It Like Beckham and Pirates of the Caribbean, but her years of experience can tempt you to guess she's in her late 30s, though she just recently turned 30. Carly Rae Jepsen, on the other hand, the singer responsible for hits like “Call Me Maybe” and “I Really Like You,” seems like she's fresh out of high school. Perhaps it's the pop songs, perhaps it's her notorious discovery by Justin Bieber, perhaps it's the bangs - whatever the reason, many assume she's in her early 20s, but she's actually 30 as well.
8 Alison Brie and Elisabeth Moss
Alison Brie and Elisabeth Moss both starred in Mad Men together, although Moss had a far larger role as Peggy Olson than Brie had as the housewife Trudy Campbell. However, Brie is perhaps better known for playing Annie Edison on the hit television comedy Community, where she's one of the younger members of the group. Since she spent so long playing a college student, it can be easy to assume that she's the same age as her character - but Brie is actually 33. Moss, who plays the badass Peggy Olson, has scored more mature character roles, so it's a bit easier to believe that she's 33.
7 Rob Lowe and Russell Crowe
Rob Lowe's first big film role was as Sodapop in The Outsiders - in 1983. We'll let you do the math for a second. That's right - he was roughly the same age as his character at the time, meaning that he's 51 years old now. Lowe looks to be in his early 40s at most, so we're dying to know the secrets to his youth (perhaps, like his character on Parks and Recreation, he's a health nut?) The Aussie Russell Crowe, on the other hand, looks every bit of his 51 years. We're not saying that he looks bad - it's just that in comparison to Lowe's gleaming California guy appearance, Crowe is very much a rugged man's man.
6 Taylor Swift and Lucy Hale
When Taylor Swift first broke into the music scene as a country artist, she was still a teenager, so it can be easy to forget that she's still only 26 years old. Sure, she's frequently pictured having fun with her girlfriends like many 20-somethings do, but she's so successful and poised that she can seem far older than her years at times. Lucy Hale, in comparison, has spent the majority of her acting career playing high school students - from little sister Effie Kaligaris in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 to Rose Baker in Privileged, and finally, her biggest role to date, Aria Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars, so it's easy to guess that she's 20 or 21 rather than 26.
5 Adam Sandler and Julianna Margulies
It's kind of hard to believe that Adam Sandler has been starring in comedies since the 1990s, but sure enough, the majority of his iconic films like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy were filmed in the 90s. Since then, he's ventured into more dramatic roles in films such as Reign Over Me, as well as stayed true to his slapstick roots in movies like Grown Ups. Given the length of his career, it seems plausible that he's 49. However, Julianna Margulies is a different story. She broke into the scene as Nurse Carol Hathaway on ER, and then took a bit of a step back, scoring smaller film roles and guest starring gigs on television shows before finally landing the role that brought her back onto the red carpet - Alicia Florrick in The Good Wife. Margulies could easily pass for her late 30s or early 40s at most, but she's actually 49.
4 Kourtney Kardashian and Coco Austin
Say what you want about Kourtney Kardashian, but you can't deny that she looks absolutely phenomenal for her age. She's 36 years old, the oldest of the Kardashian sisters, but could easily pass for her late 20s. Her skin is always glowing, her hair is always glistening, and she just looks like one hot mama. Coco Austin, on the other hand, definitely looks every single one of her 36 years. Now, it's not that Coco looks old, really - it's just that she favors a look that ages her a lot more than Kourtney's, picking more form-fitting clothing that younger girls would wear, tons of heavy make-up, bleached blonde hair, etc.
3 John Cho and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
There's no doubt that Dwayne Johnson is in absolutely phenomenal shape - I mean, just look at him. He knows how to rock a red carpet, he takes his health seriously, and he brings a ton of energy to any role he takes on. However, he looks like a very fit man in his 40s, so it's really no surprise to find out that he's 43. John Cho, on the other hand, looks like a young actor in his mid 20s starting out, so it's quite frankly astonishing that he's 43 as well. Perhaps part of it comes from the fact that one of his most notorious roles is as the stoner Harold in the Harold and Kumar series, but still - he does not look like a man in his 40s.
2 Margot Robbie and Sarah Hyland
Margot Robbie is a bit of an enigma. She looks absolutely gorgeous, and she definitely doesn't look old, but for some reason, most people guess that she's in her late 20s or early 30s. It's not because of any wrinkles or visible signs of aging - she just has a more mature aura, and carries herself with a bit more poise than other 25 year olds. Sarah Hyland, on the other hand, is most known for playing the ditzy yet lovable Haley Dunphy on the sitcom Modern Family. Many assume that she's in her late teens or very early 20s, like her character, but Hyland is actually 25 as well.
1 Adele and Emma Stone
There's really no explanation for this one. Perhaps it's because she writes such soulful, emotional, moving songs. Perhaps it's because of her retro look that harkens back to an earlier time. Perhaps it's because she's a mother, perhaps it's because she favors gowns and full skirts rather than the tight bodysuits and bootie shorts that many other pop stars wear. Either way, Adele seems like a seasoned performer in her 30s - but she's actually only 27 years old. Emma Stone, on the other hand, looks even younger than her real age of 27. She's began to take on more challenging roles lately, but she could definitely still pass as a high school or college student.
