12 Reasons Beyonce Had To Forgive Jay Z For Cheating
When Beyoncé dropped her album Lemonade over the weekend - the world went crazy with speculation. There were references to Jay Z's infidelity, her rapping about regretting wearing a wedding band, insinuations that there was another woman involved - it goes without saying that it sent the Beyhive into meltdown. Not since the infamous Met Gala elevator brawl in 2014, which involved Beyoncé's sister Solange, has there been so much gossip about Bey and Jay.
Their image of being happily married has been truly shattered, but what people really couldn't understand is why the hell didn't Beyoncé - one of the most powerful and independent women in the world - just get all her husband's belongings and leave it in a box to left? There are many reasons why someone would want to make their marriage work, to overcome the difficult times, and Queen Bey reminds us time and time again that she really is only human. Here are just a few points why she isn't set to leave Jay Z anytime soon.
12 They Have A Family Together
In 2011, Beyoncé entered the Guinness World Records for "most tweets per second recorded for a single event" (8,868 tweets a second) when she dropped her mic on stage at the MTV Music Video Awards, unbuttoned her blazer and rubbed her stomach. Cue the cameras switching to Jay Z, as an overexcited Kanye jumped on him in congratulations. This is how Beyoncé announced to the world that she and Jay Z were having a baby.
On January 7th, 2012, Beyoncé gave birth to their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. There is no denying Blue is the kid who has everything along with two of the most adoring parents in the world. During their On The Run tour, they showed intimate clips of their family together alongside an intimate medley of Forever Young and Halo on stage. Together they want to keep a united front for their daughter - no matter what it takes.
Sir Paul Coleridge, a former High Court family judge, told IOL, "Behind too many of these high-profile family breakdowns sits a set of confused and distressed children who have felt the two tectonic plates of their lives pulled apart under the full scrutiny of the media." This is obviously something the Carter family never want to experience.
11 They Have Seen How Much Divorce Hurts
Jay Z's parents separated when he was very young. He grew up in a housing project in Brooklyn, New York, and his mother, Gloria Carter, raised Jay Z and his three siblings alone as his own father, Adness Reeves, had abandoned the family. In 2003, Jay Z met with Adness and forgave him - shortly after he died of liver failure.
For Beyoncé, her family had always been close until 2009 when it was revealed that her parents, Matthew and Tina Knowles would divorce after 31 years. The legal process took two years, the reason behind their split was it had emerged Matthew Knowles had fathered a love child with another woman. Since Jay Z and Beyoncé have both experienced painful family separations themselves, they most likely won't want history to repeat itself.
10 They Don't Want A Public Divorce Battle
Celebrity divorce battles are messy, intrusive and very public. If the two were intending to divorce, there would be hundreds of front page stories speculating and gossiping about the legalities. As these proceedings can take months, or sometimes even years, in their situation - staying together is the easier option.
The couple have always safely guarded their private life, they rarely give interviews or TV appearances anymore, instead choosing to allow fans to see into their private lives only when they are in complete control, like Beyoncé's 2014 HBO documentary Life is But a Dream. Knowing they have no control over what private details are leaked to the press is a nightmare for them.
9 They Are Financially Better Off Together
Top Hollywood divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has a previous client list that includes Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Garner, Kim Kardashian, Gwen Stefani, and Stevie Wonder, charges a whopping the $850-an-hour. Considering the divorce could take up to 18 months as they decide over dividing assets - many celebrities can't actually afford a divorce.
Together the couple are billionaires - Beyoncé is worth $450 million and Jay Z is worth $650 million. They are the ultimate power couple, both able to cut very lucrative business deals with big name brands. When they went on their joint On The Run tour last year, the total gross for the entire run was $100 million. If they were to divorce, then both sides of the partnership would lose their billionaire status.
8 They Are Both Believe Marriage Is Sacred
Jay Z is non-denominational monotheistic, he believes in one God, but he doesn't identify as necessarily Christian. Beyoncé has expressed her belief in God throughout her albums and above all she believes marriage is sacred.
During their On The Run tour together, Wet Paint reported: "Here's the situation: Bey and Jay are currently in the midst of their tour. The string of concerts is taking them across the country. But when these two aren't bonding with Blue and bringing down the house onstage, they are Skyping with a therapist." The news that their marriage needed help has been floating around for nearly two years now but they will both stop at nothing to make it work.
7 They Don't Want Things To Get Awkward
Almost every showbiz event there is, you can guarantee that Beyoncé and Jay Z will attend together. They also have a lot of mutual friends such as Barack and Michelle Obama, Pharrell Williams and Kendrick Lamar.
As they are both powerful figures in the music industry, there will be a lot of events or award ceremonies they may end up attending together. If you think bumping into your ex-partner is awkward, then try it with the world's press watching.
6 They Know This Is Part Of Show Business
Sad but true - showbiz romances are tricky and rarely last. According to a study published by IOL, "Fifty percent of all famous or showbiz couples who married in the first decade of the century were divorced by 2014." They also found: "Celebrities are over six times more likely to divorce in their first year of marriage than others." So as Bey and Jay have only just celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on April 4th this year - they are one of the lucky ones.
The main reason why divorce rate is so high in Hollywood is that work schedules tend to conflict. Although the pair were able to have the advantage of a joint tour together, they still have other work commitments that require their attention separately. Jay Z owns the RocNation label and music streaming site Tidal, and Beyoncé owns management company ParkWood Entertainment. Also Beyoncé has just kicked off the first leg of her Formation world tour, meaning they will have even more time apart as she jets around the globe and Jay Z tends to business in America. A showbiz marriage is one they will have to work twice as hard at, but they always knew there would be sacrifices.
5 They Don't Want This To Be A Burden
We all remember the burden Jennifer Aniston had to endure when she divorced Brad Pitt 11 years ago - almost a decade on and everyone is still talking about "Poor Jen." No matter how many interviews she gave stating that she had moved on, or how many celebrity men she dated (Jonathan Mayor, Gerard Butler, Vince Vaughn, etc) to prove she was over it - she was still always described in the press as the woman scorned.
Beyoncé and Jay Z don't want to suffer this same fate as their multi-million dollar image needs protecting. Beyoncé has made her fortune projecting herself as a strong, fierce woman, if she divorces Jay Z, the press may turn on her and capture her in a new "fragile" and "emotional" state. Also Jay Z is going to have a tough time come across as the perfect gentleman when his infidelities are made public.
4 They Have Moved On
Beyoncé opened her Formation world tour in Miami just last night and she dedicated her song Halo to her husband. It was a move nobody was expecting, especially as she had eight separate diss tracks about her husband on her latest album, Lemonade - but it was a clear signal to everyone that Beyoncé had forgiven Jay Z.
She told the audience, "I want to dedicate this song to my family. Thank you guys for supporting me. I wanna dedicate this song to my beautiful husband. I love you so much. Blue, I love you so much." Sky News reported that Jay Z was reportedly in the audience at the Marlins Park Stadium.
3 They Have Been Together For Forever
The Beyonce and Jay Z love story is believed to have begun around 2002 when they collaborated on the track '03 Bonnie & Clyde for his seventh album The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse.
Beyoncé played the role of his love interest which sent fans into a frenzy believing they were together. They denied their relationship, even throughout the Crazy In Love era, until it became impossible to pretend they weren't made for each other. In 2008, they married in private and managed to avoid any press intrusion. With this much romantic history, neither of them are prepared to throw it all away.
2 This Could All Be Beyoncé's Paranoia
In Beyoncé's 2014 track Jealous she sings: "I'm just jealous. I'm just human. Don't judge me." The whole plot twist to the Lemonade album could be that Beyoncé has got it all wrong - perhaps her husband's cheating is all in her head.
For her track Sorry, she sings about "Becky", a woman Jay Z is seeing behind her back. The Beyhive went crazy with speculation over who "Becky" actually was - some accused Rachel Roy, Damon Dash's ex-wife, of going behind Queen Bey's back before then singer Rita Ora stepped into the firing line. Both women have vehemently denied anything happened - maybe they are right.
1 They Genuinely Love Each Other
Beyoncé and Jay Z have really been through it all over the years. They have witnessed each other's careers reach phenomenal heights, they have helped each other through the shared pain of a miscarriage, they welcomed their baby daughter into the world together, shared steamy video scenes, and have had countless shared PDA's on stage in front of the world. No matter what the truth is - there is no denying this couple are madly in love.
Every relationship has it's ups and downs but if there is one thing we can bet on for certain - it's that Bey and Jay will be together forever.
