    15 Co-Stars Who Didn't Actually Get Along

Fictional best friends might appear to be matches made in heaven, but it can be a totally different story behind the scenes. Although two people might seem like BFFs on the screen, it's often been reported that even those who shared the strongest chemistry in front of the camera have come to blows at the dimming of stage lights. Among the following stars, we have people who started off as good friends with their co-stars but left the project with new enemies, and people who never fit in with the rest of the cast from day one. We also have people who have since mended their severed ties, and those who still aren't able to set foot in the same room, let alone work together ever again. Most of the disagreements were verbal and passive-aggressive, though one or two feuding celebs let things get a little physical! Here are 15 co-stars who didn't get along.

15 Ariana Grande And Victoria Justice

Victorious fans could barely believe it when news broke that former co-stars Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice weren't as close as they seemed. An article was published in which Ariana alluded to being bullied on set and seemed to imply that Victoria was the instigator. “So basically, there was an article in Seventeen magazine where [Ariana] had said that she was bullied on set, and the magazine basically alluded to it being me,” Victoria later said. “Once the article came out-actually before it came out-she texted me privately, and she was like, 'Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. You know how the media twists words. I was not talking about you obviously, I was talking about someone on Broadway I had worked with.' But once it got out there everyone thought that I was this bully and mean to her, which couldn't be further from the truth." Awkward AF!

14 Jamie Foxx And LL Cool J

This is one of those co-star feuds that did turn physical! Jamie Foxx and LL Cool J were cast together in Any Given Sunday in 1999 and got on like fire and gasoline. While filming a scene one February day at the Pro Player Stadium in Miami, the two exchanged punches over a disagreement. Luckily it was nothing more serious than that! The Miami-Dade County Police were even called in to help put a stop to it. Thankfully, though, since then these two have more or less resolved all their issues. Jamie has spoken on their fight and basically blamed their immaturity at the time. “When you're grown, you don't really have time for all that [beefing],” he said. “When you're young, it's cool to have your emotions on your chest. But we're grown now.” Jamie later lent his vocals to his former co-star's Todd Smith LP. Hopefully, the past stays buried!

13 Harrison Ford And Josh Hartnett

It's common knowledge in Hollywood that while Harrison Ford may be a top-notch actor, he isn't all that easy to work with. His co-star Josh Hartnett experienced this first-hand on the set of Hollywood Homicide, which was apparently awkward-ville for everybody. The relationship between Josh and Harrison was so non-existent that the two weren't even able to look each other in the eye when the cameras weren't rolling. There was also some low-key name-calling, with Josh calling Harrison “an old fart” and Harrison labeling Josh “a punk”. They even argued throughout the promotional tour, and Josh has since shed light on how frosty things were. "There were times we would end up just sitting in the car when we were supposed to be doing a scene and neither of us would say anything for like an hour." Perhaps that lack of chemistry did subconsciously register because the film only earned $30 million at the Box Office.

12 Patrick Swayze And Jennifer Grey

This feud is sure to break some hearts! We all lived vicariously through Johnny and Baby's relationship in Dirty Dancing, but maybe we shouldn't have. While the two seemed like the perfect couple, Patrick Swayze later revealed that he wasn't in love with Jennifer Grey by any stretch of the imagination. In his autobiography The Time of My Life, he described poor Jennifer as being “highly emotional” and prone to “silly moods” while they were trying to get their work done. We don't know whether Jennifer was really out of line here, but we do know that all our Dirty Dancing fantasies have been crushed. What's next? We're going to find out that Patrick secretly thought Demi Moore was unbearable on the set of Ghost?! It's fine if these fictional couples aren't really in love behind the scenes (although we'd love if they were, let's be honest), but can they not hate each other? Thanks!

11 James Franco And Anne Hathaway

No reports came of any bad blood between James Franco and Anne Hathaway while they were hosting the Academy Awards together, but James proved he wasn't a great friend to his co-host while he was chatting to Howard Stern. Stern began stirring the pot so to speak by targeting Anne. "Everyone sort of hates Anne Hathaway and I've explained that I do too and I don't know even know why sometimes,” he said. “She's just so affected [and] actress-y that even when she wins an award she's out of breath, and then she has the standard joke that sounds like it's [been] written [for her]. And it all seems so scripted and acted." Now, a good friend or even a loyal co-star would have come to Anne's defense, but instead, James said this: "I'm not an expert on-I guess they're called 'Hatha-haters'-but I think that's what maybe triggers it." Geez!

10 Bill Murray And Lucy Liu

This next feud taught us that if you annoy one of Charlie's Angels badly enough, you're probably not coming back. Things weren't exactly rosy on the set of Charlie's Angels, as co-stars Bill Murray and Lucy Liu didn't mesh so well together. It's been reported that Bill started it by declaring that Lucy couldn't act. We feel like if you say that to an actress on a movie set, you're going to have a bad time. Lots of actors throughout history have probably thought that of their co-stars, but gosh, you don't say it to their face if you want things to run smoothly! It seems that it ran rather bumpily for Bill after that because he was replaced in the sequel by Bernie Mac. We don't know if Lucy and Bernie became best buddies after that, but at least Lucy could probably do her job without being criticized for her talent!

9 Claire Danes And Leonardo DiCaprio

Here's another one that's kind of devastating! It always hurts when you find out that the love between a fictional couple was all a lie. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes played the most loved-up couple in the history of cinema, literature, and history: Romeo and Juliet. But behind the scenes of their contemporary adaptation, it's been said that their relationship wasn't so hot. It all stemmed from the fact that Claire didn't appreciate the way Leo would always play around and take nothing seriously while they were trying to get work done. We secretly wouldn't mind watching Leo goof off at all, but we guess things are different when you're a serious actress! In fact, Claire reportedly avoided Leo at all costs and only actually interacted with him when they were in a scene together. At least Leo got along splendidly with Titanic co-star Kate Winslet. We can live with one out of two!

8 Teri Hatcher And The 'Desperate Housewives' Cast

In a perfect world, the Desperate Housewives of Wisteria Lane would have gotten along off camera as well as they did while it rolled. Unfortunately, life is not a story thought up by ABC writers, and natural personality clashes got in the way of total harmony between the cast members. Teri Hatcher who played Susan Mayer on the show was allegedly excluded from the wider group of cast members and was even described by co-star Eva Longoria as the “loner” amongst them. Rumors swirled during filming that nobody got along with Teri, but it's been said that the most intense feuding took place between Teri and her co-star Marcia Cross, who played Bree van de Kamp. During a shoot for Vanity Fair one day, Teri was placed at the front center, which Marcia allegedly didn't appreciate. At the end of filming, Teri's name was even omitted from the goodbye gift!

7 Sophia Bush And Chad Michael Murray

Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray's relationship started off quite strong. In fact, after meeting on the set of One Tree Hill in 2004, the two promptly fell in love and were married just over a year afterward. Things looked pretty promising, but the positive vibes didn't last long. The marriage crumbled just five months after the wedding, reportedly thanks to Chad's cheating on his new wife. However, filing for divorce wasn't going to stop Sophia from having to see her ex, as they were both still involved with the show. They ended up having to work together for years until the show finished, and Sophia has since admitted that this was hard to do. We bet it was! Our hats go off to her for actually being able to get on with the job after that. And from this co-star feud, we've learned that sometimes it's better to avoid mixing work with play!

6 Nick Nolte And Julia Roberts

Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts played a couple in 1994's I Love Trouble, but off screen, the feelings the two had for each other contained everything but love. News broke that the two weren't great friends before the movie was even released. The rumors stated that Julia didn't want to put up with Nick's misogynistic outlook on life and chauvinism, which would be pretty hard to do. Nick reportedly responded by antagonizing her on purpose to get a response, and eventually, things became so unfriendly that the two stars ended up working more with stand-ins than with each other. This feud wasn't over as soon as filming finished, though, and in 2003, Julia labeled Nick as a “disgusting human being.” He responded by saying, “It's not nice to call someone 'disgusting.' But she's not a nice person. Everyone knows that.” It's been more than twenty years since filming, so hopefully, things are more civil now!

5 Sarah Jessica Parker And Kim Cattrall

Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones may have been best buds on Sex and the City, but Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall have never been able to shake off the rumors that they didn't like each other as much as it seemed. Although they both spent years denying the allegations that there was a feud between them, it was still reported that they had a tiff over Sarah Jessica earning more money than her co-stars. Sarah Jessica explained her side of the story to US Marie Claire: “When you're on set, you're working 90-hour weeks, you're never home, you're exhausted. There are times when all of us have been sensitive and sometimes feelings get hurt,” she said. “But I don't have any regrets about how I've treated people.” We might never know exactly went down on the set, but the other SATC ladies maintain that the chemistry between the group as a foursome was super-strong!

4 Nicki Minaj And Mariah Carey

This was a feud that everybody knew about before, during, and after the airing of American Idol in 2013. Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were judges together on the panel, but rumors that Mariah didn't want another female judge on the panel began circulating before the season even began filming. “Secret” footage was captured of Mariah and Nicki going at it one day while the cameras were off, with Nicki accusing Mariah of always running down her resume and Mariah likening Nicki to a child. It was clear that things weren't exactly peaceful while the cameras were on either, as the two constantly bickered over their differences in opinion, leading Nicki to eventually walk out one day when she felt attacked by Mariah and fellow judge Randy. Rumors spread that Nicki had threatened Mariah with a gun, and after the season ended, Mariah compared her time on American Idol to “working in hell with Satan.”

3 Alyssa Milano And Shannon Doherty

They were playing sisters who shared a bond strong enough to defeat the darkest forces of evil, but the relationship between Charmed co-stars Alyssa Milano and Shannon Doherty was anything but strong. Rumors began surfacing early on about Alyssa and Shannon, who played Phoebe and Prue Halliwell respectively, and eventually, the animosity became so great that Shannon departed the show in 2001. It still isn't entirely clear whether she quit or whether she was fired, but Alyssa has since spoken out about those days filming the first three seasons of the hit TV show. She described the experience as like being back in high school, considering all the cattiness that went on. Shannon was best friends with other co-star Holly Marie Combs, whom she still keeps in contact with. However, Alyssa was quick to support Shannon over social media recently after her shocking cancer diagnosis, so hopefully these two have forgotten their drama.

2 Blake Lively And Leighton Meester

Just in case all this hasn't made you feel like your life is a lie already, did you know that Gossip Girl's Blake Lively and Leighton Meester didn't get on that well IRL? These two may have played Upper East Side besties Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf on the show, but apparently they clashed behind the scenes. To be fair, they clashed on the show too, but even though they did some truly horrendous things to each other, they always came around. It seems that 18-hour work days proved to be too much for the friendship between Blake and Leighton, who are rumored to no longer even be on speaking terms. One report suggests that things were tense already, but it all hit the fan when Blake failed to congratulate Leighton on her engagement to Adam Brody. So we're guessing a GG reunion isn't in the cards for the near future?

1 Rachel McAdams And Ryan Gosling

Our top co-star feud has to go to Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, who played the sappy lovers Allie and Noah in The Notebook. The film's director, Nick Cassavetes let it slip that although they had great chemistry on-screen, the two absolutely loathed each other and were always fighting about something. We would say that it was just a standard square-peg-round-hole scenario, but the co-stars actually sorted out their differences after a while and began a romantic relationship! This definitely made the movie's fans happy, because Noah and Allie went through a lot of drama in the story so it only seemed fair that they should have a great love-life IRL. However, Rachel and Ryan's relationship didn't last forever like Allie and Noah's, and the love-hate relationship between the two soon reverted back to just hate. It's a shame because this could have been the ultimate love story for the grandkids!
