How do we describe Miley Cyrus' taste in fashion? Eccentric is an understatement. She may have started as your average teen girl but now she's a mega superstar who wears seriously wacky outfits. She has been on many magazine covers as a shocking story. This girl knows how to get attention and must certainly love it since she always tries to out-do herself with each new outfit. “Outfit” is not even necessarily the right word for her items of clothing, either -- let's call them costumes. But hey, she is unique and having fun. She does not give a crap about what people think about her. Haters are going to hate, and Miley's just going to keep wearing her zany wardrobe anyway! Still, even knowing she is unpredictable, her wardrobe still manages to shock us every time. Do you not look at her sometimes and say “How did she even come up with that?!” You're not alone! Here are 15 of Miley's craziest outfits.

15 Beaded Beauty

Hours before the infamous Robin Thicke twerking incident, Miley showed up to the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards with this beaded look. Note the random beads around her leg/thigh, and not on the other one! It is like she rolled around in a pile of beads instead of placing them strategically. She topped off this ensemble with two double-buns, something only a few people can pull off. It cracks us up that she has so many elaborate bracelets and then just a random, simple necklace. We can't help but wonder if she made noise whenever she moved due to this ensemble's decorations. None of the beaded jewelry seems to coordinate in any way, either. The beads around her waist are kind of like a belt, but not quite. It does accentuate her waist, though. The off-the-shoulder top is not bad either but this look is just… messy. Of course, it would only get messier when she performed later that night.

14 Balloon Babe

Are those… balloons? Those could pop at any moment! When we look closely, we can tell that there are dots of various sizes all over her plastic dress. And plastic, by the way, definitely couldn't be comfortable. If we wore this, we would feel sticky in no time! She's got a bit of a'60's vibe with the go-go boots, but ultimately this look would not be something '60's model Twiggy would wear in public. Miley clearly thought this one through, however, as the dots are strategically placed to cover the necessities. Also, we have to acknowledge those glasses. We are guessing the point of the glasses is to make her eyes look closed (hence the slits, like shut eyes) but in reality, how can she actually see out of those things?! We are seriously trying to figure it out. Would you not bump into things? How could she even see the audience? They just seem impractical but hey, Kanye rocked the impractical glasses too and it worked for him.

13 Barbie Dream

Here is Miley with her classic tongue-out pose. To be fair, she fits the theme because this was at the Jeremy Scott & Moschino Party With Barbie in 2014. And when you think of Barbie, you definitely think pink! You probably do not picture a mesh jacket and skirt with a bra, however. And then there is another glasses mishap. These once again are not practical and look huge on her face. But at least they are girly hearts, something Barbie would absolutely approve of. Barbie may or may not approve of the top-bun, however. It looks a little tinted pink at the top. Did she dye it for the event? We have to hand it to Miley on this one, that is dedication. Her heels are typical “Barbie” as well and actually look like a human-sized version of shoes the doll would actually wear. She finishes off the look with ginormous earrings, and at this point, we would expect nothing less of Miley.

12 Strapping Lady

When we say this outfit is sheer, we definitely mean super sheer. Disregard those sheer sleeves entirely, actually, because that is obviously not what is eye-catching about this look. Miley is clearly not shy and loves to show off her bangin' bod. Some may consider her skin-baring looks as going a little too far, though. The skirt is simple, but we can't for the life of us wrap our minds around that top! Is it a top? She was seemingly going for a bit of a rock 'n roll look here, which is cool, but the straps might not be necessary! I mean they work as suspenders and a choker and a cover for her lady bits all at once. What is necessary is maybe some more material. Do not get us wrong, we love that Miley loves her body. But that can't be comfortable either! Isn't she super cold? At least she covered up certain spots that would make the outfit look more controversial, which is crazy to think is even possible!

11 Leotard Look

Look, we do not mean to be vulgar here but um… ouch?! Miley has great legs so it makes sense she would show them off, but to this extent, it is a little… revealing. Once again, she goes with the sheer sleeves, only these ones are white. The jewelry kind of works. We can totally admit that. It's simple enough with a necklace and a bracelet, with the belt having the potential to be the wacky, weird part of the outfit. But nope, that is clearly not the highlight of this ensemble. We do not think we have to point this one out to you. We think you can figure it out for yourselves. At least her heels match? Miley typically goes for crazy colors, so seeing her in a solid white is kind of refreshing. You do you, Miley, but remember the saying “pain is beauty” is not necessarily true! This really seems like a look that should have been forgotten.

10 Pretty In Pink

Here is another pretty-in-pink look for Miley. By now, that “top” should be no surprise. At this point, we know that she is just being Miley! She seemingly has a fondness for straps, pasties, and flaunting her stomach. And hey, she has a pretty good stomach. But whether we are used to this kind of behavior or not, it still manages to be ridiculous. There are some other zany attributes to the outfit too, such as those bug-eye sunglasses. We wonder if she saw everything through a red lens. We think that would get annoying after a while! And oh, the hair. How can you even describe it? You see her regular hair at her scalp and then something just… goes wrong. At least the pink matches? But we can barely see what the hell is going on. There seems to be hair accessories, but you can not tell what they are or how they fit into the look.

9 Baring it All

Miley has fully established a theme here: skin. She has got her go-to pasties on with a mesh dress that makes sure to hide nothing. She is also going strappy again with… whatever appears to be going on with her underwear. It looks like regular white underwear, with random black straps crisscrossing over it. She also has straps starting from her neck, going past her shoulders, and leading into a… turtleneck or sorts? Once again we pose the question: how can she possibly stay warm with this? Well, we get a small answer from her in this look with her fur coat. It does not look very warm and the coat does not even cover her shoulders. We suspect this coat does not actually keep her warm at all! She also has necklaces on, but what is the point? You can't even see them! They clearly add nothing to the outfit once you contrast the necklaces to… all of the rest.

8 Fluffy Female

Ah, now here is a fur coat that actually seems practical and enough to keep her warm. And we suspect she needed it as she is once again going for the white leotard that is akin to thong underwear. She has got her mini-buns going again, and her earrings match. They are like giant, fluffy snowballs dangling from her ears. We can't imagine those not getting in the way. Then there is the random flannel shirt tied around her waist. Why? What is the point? She is not using it for functionality, that is for sure! It is just randomly there, and that is saying a lot considering the typical randomicity of Miley's outfits. It does not go with the outfit in any possible way. Her theme of white and fluffy is oddly interrupted by that flannel. Maybe she is using it to accentuate her waist? Maybe she is using it to cover anything too revealing? From what outfits we have seen in the past, that's super doubtful.

7 Multi-Colored Magic

There is a lot going on here. How can we even begin to unpack this? We could talk all day about the colors and patterns that are all jumbled up on her ensemble here, but it is the accessories that really bring it over-the-top. Let us break this down: first, the shoes. I mean, I guess it is not like she could find anything that matched that outfit. Might as well break out the giant, yellow sneaks. Then there are her earrings which, ahem, puts one of her boobs on display. Then we have the jelly bracelets, the out-of-proportion ring on her left pinky, and those beads. We would totally go to Miley if we wanted a friendship bracelet made. There appears to be pins around the beaded necklaces as well. Look at her left shoulder… .is that a car air-freshener? How does one even think of that? I guess one person's trash is another person's treasure.

6 Vampy Vixen

This is quite conservative for Miley. She still has the mesh going, but we are kind of diggin' the floor-length gown. It is just the mesh! Why is she so obsessed with this material? This is supposedly taken at a classy event, however, so she made it less see-through, which is new for her. Let us take a look at those rings, though, they are huge! They take up multiple fingers. Can she even grab things, or spread her fingers? Overall, this would not be the worst of the worst but then comes, sigh, the hair. Perhaps she thought it would be a way to stay rebellious since she had to cover up her body. We think she was going for a rock 'n roll look again, but instead, she looks kind of like a porcupine! This hair-do must have been a hassle to create. The dress is unique on its own, but Miley always has to turn it up a notch whether it be with her jewelry or her hair!

5 Dressed Down

Okay, admittedly, this one is kind of funny. We guess Miley can't come up with concepts all day every day! She puts so much effort into all of her other outfits so it makes sense she would want to slack off for a while. However, we think more thought was put into this outfit than she wants us to think. After all, since when does Miley have nothing to wear? The dress almost looks like an ironic t-shirt you could find on the sales rack, but it is obviously a little more fancier than that. Look at the sparkles on the letters! Not to mentioned it's short and slouchy, reminiscent of a T-shirt. Another highlight of the outfit is her bag. It must have been customized just for her because Miley is not a typical name! Finish it off with some white pumps and you have got a look! She also kept the jewelry to a minimum (well, for her) to go with the joke of not having anything to wear.

4 Creative Cats

Once again, Miley is wearing a revealing outfit that looks almost painful! But also once again… she has great legs. We have to give her that. So yeah, we totally get why she wants to keep showing them off. Let us state the obvious first: she is covered in kittens. This is a really original look. Who would have thought of a pattern of cats of all things? And of course, her midriff is bared too, because as we have said before, she has a rockin' bod. But great stomach or not, this look still classifies as another crazy Miley ensemble! Take a look at her accessories too. Her bracelets are just huge discs of plastic dangling off her arms. Huh? The ones on her right arm look like the size of CDs! This is one of those outfits that really make you wonder how Miley came up with this concept and managed to execute it. Kittens? CD bangles? Potentially painful panties? And what is extra funny about this ensemble is that it is one of her tamer looks!

3 Silver Locks

This is what Miley considers a “formal” look, we would say because it's both black and floor-length. But she just has to Miley it up and add her own personal touches. For example, of course, we have got some skin revealed. At this point, it just would not feel like a Miley outfit without some body-baring. The neckline (or, well, lack thereof) is super confusing. It looks like it would hurt if she looked down! Then, we have got the hair. We are used to Miley's blonde by now, but grey and slicked-back is completely new! It goes with the rocker vibe she seems to be trying to shoot for (along with the tattoos on her fingers). Also, what a badass ear cuff! Typically, a celebrity would wear something like the simple black dress you see the woman wearing in the background. But not Miley! She always steals the show whether she's in a gothic rocker look or a technicolor rainbow outfit.

2 Heart-Breaking Honey

Speaking of technicolor rainbow outfits… this is what she wore on a talk show. We have the classic breast-almost-bared-but-not-quite staple that we expect from Miley. She appears to have put on a blazer with nothing underneath and pinned it at the top. While the crushed, colorful hearts are clearly the highlight of the outfit, we have got to acknowledge the cluster going on with her jewelry, hair, and face make-up! She definitely wanted us to think she was coming from another universe with the tiny hearts around her eyes. Can you even tell what is going up on her head? We see sunglasses, a pot leaf, and a bow, but there is clearly more going on that we can't even decipher! This outfit is quintessential Miley: crazy color, skin-baring, and wacky accessories. Nothing seems to go together and she does not seem to care. Like the different-colored star earrings… going with a heart outfit. Guess she has a vision all of her own!

1 Boots Made for Walkin'

And here we have Miley wearing a… dress? It might as well be a bathing suit. Note the words on the booty! This outfit doesn't show her usual assets, but this time it showcases her back. The real show-stealer, however, are those shoes. They appear to be heeled, knee-length boots with a trippy pattern. Hey, Miley loves her trippy patterns! She also kept her jewelry to a minimum again this time because frankly, this outfit does not need any more than it already does! We are not quite sure what vibe Miley is going for here, but then again, we almost never are! Regardless, she seems confident and happy in this outfit as well as all of the other ones on the list. We can keep looking on in surprise as Miley comes up with outfit after outfit because we do not think she will ever stop being shocking! And apparently, that is just the way she likes it.
