15 Of Our Fave Celebrity Parents
Being a parent is for sure one of the hardest jobs ever. Parents are pushed to their limits every day, which is exhausting, but thankfully most of them can avoid the limelight. However, celebrity parents definitely can't step out of the spotlight, and their parenting skills are put on a show for the world to see. Celebrity parents are generally just like normal parents: they love to show the world embarrassing pictures of their children, they love their children, and they worry about their parenting skills. Despite all of the gossip and drama of celebrity life, some celebrities manage to be supportive, loving and understanding parents… and they manage to look absolutely fabulous at the same time, of course. This is a seriously impressive skill, and we want to congratulate the celebrities who do the school run in between fancy photo shoots and interviews. Even though parenting can be difficult, every parent on this list deserves the Parent of the Year award. Here are 15 of our favorite celebrity parents.
15 Kourtney Kardashian

Reality tv stars are often judged pretty harshly (and that's an understatement), but Kourtney Kardashian works hard to balance her career and her three kids. She's a successful children's clothing designer, reality TV star, and business manager, and yet she manages to spend most of her time with her adorable children. She openly talks about trying attachment parenting; her and Mason, 6, Penelope, 3 and Reign, 1, all co-sleep together. She also breastfed Mason for 14 months, and she makes her own healthy baby food for Reign. She films Keeping Up with the Kardashians in her home and she also refuses to have a set schedule with her children -- she just tries to make the most of the time they spend together. Ultimately, the needs of her children come before work. She is also a great role model for her children; when she realized that her children had too many toys, she held a charity yard sale so that other children could enjoy the toys, rather than throwing them away.
14 Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck
The two stars have three kids: daughters Violet and Seraphina Rose and son Samuel. Although the couple are now separated, they are still focused on being the best possible parents. The pair also does a great job of keeping their children out of the spotlight, and neither parent offers parenting advice like a celebrity expert. Instead, they do regular things together as a family, like day trips out and visits to the park. Jennifer also states in an interview that she and her children attend a Methodist church every Sunday. "She is the type of person born to be a mother," Kerris Dorsey once said, who plays Garner's child in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. "She's so maternal and so lovely. She has that instinct. She kind of felt like a real mom. She really cared about everyone individually. It feels like she cares about you personally." Cute!
13 Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have three sons together: Noah Shannon Green, Bodhi Ransom Green, and Journey River Green. Megan took to motherhood immediately, saying: “It has definitely changed me as a person in every possible way. Before you have kids, you really do not understand how all-consuming it is. You have one and you're like, 'Oh my God, my baby is my whole world.' Every moment of the day is dedicated to this one baby and then all of a sudden you have two of them.” We love that as it perfectly sums up the feelings of motherhood. She isn't the only fantastic parent, though; she regularly compliments Brian on his skills as a dad. She said, “He's definitely meant to be the father of my children. That makes it easier for me to work through things because I always see the spiritual side of things.” An adorable family with awesome parents.
12 Pink And Carey Hart
Pink and her husband Carey Hart are parents to Willow Sage, and they are often spotted in the park with their daughter. The couple does not seem to have a nanny, and both are very hands-on parents. When talking about parenthood, Pink has said, “I have lived a lot of life in a very short time, and you get hardened a little bit - you get jaded, you build up walls. And when you see this little kid, and you get to watch them through infancy to toddler to a little person, it is amazing.” She also is quick to comment on Carey's love for his daughter and told Ellen DeGeneres on an episode of the show that she was super touched and moved by the day they brought their daughter home from the hospital since Carey seemed to totally fall for the baby. Doesn't this give you all the feels?
11 Kim Kardashian And Kanye West
Lots of people questioned Kim and Kanye's parenting skills before their first kid was even born, but the pair have proven themselves as loving, doting parents. The rapper and reality star are parents to North and Saint, and they have both been devoted parents since the birth of North. Kanye stayed with Kim during the labor and delivery, and he apparently did everything he could to keep his wife calm and relaxed. When North was born, he called her “the most beautiful girl ever besides her mama." Now that is seriously adorable. After North was born, Kanye took a break from his career so that he could spend as much time as possible with his wife and daughter. Kim said in later interviews that Kanye was the perfect dad; he changed North's diapers, sang to her, and held her all of the time. However, he isn't the only parent worthy of praise; Kim is rarely without North, and she loves to play with her and takes her swimming. She even took North to New York Fashion Week… and yes, we are a little bit jealous.
10 Jessica Biel And Justin Timberlake
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are seriously A-list, but it turns out that they're raising their son Silas like they're any other parents and he's any other child. The stunning actress said that she and her son like to hang out in the yard on a picnic blanket, listening to music and reading books. They play their son a lot of his dad's music, but apparently, he is too young to understand that it is daddy singing. Adorable! Justin decided to honor his wife this Mother's Day, tweeting: "M.I.L.F. Alert!!!! Happy Mother's Day to this AMAZING MOM AND WIFE. And, to all of the Mother's out there… You keep the World turning!! Hope every single one of you has an amazing day! -JT." He shared the tweet with a beautiful picture of Jessica holding Silas. And it turns out that Mother's Day was just as low key as any other day for their family.
9 Shakira And Gerard Pique
Shakira and footballer Gerad Piqué first met in spring 2010 when Piqué appeared in the music video for Shakira's song "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)". The pair are now parents to sons Milan Piqué Mebarak and Sasha Piqué Mebarak. Their baby shower for Milan was a little different to the average baby shower; the couple hosted a “World Baby Shower” to benefit UNICEF. Together the couple funded nearly four tons of therapeutic good packets, more than 80,000 polio vaccines, almost 200,000 rehydrating salts and about 1,000 mosquito nets through fans' donations. This fantastic gesture shows the generosity of the couple, which is why they make such brilliant parents. However, Shakira has the same worries and concerns of every normal mom. “I'm one of those tiger moms, who is all the time looking for help and information online and researching and reading. It's not easy to be a mother,” the singer said when talking about the challenges of early motherhood.
8 Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have been together for over eight years, and they are definitely one of our fave celeb couples. In 2010 Harris announced that he and Burtka were expecting twins via a surrogate mother. Their son, Gideon Scott, and daughter, Harper Grace, were born later that year. Both of them love being parents, and Neil often discusses parenting in interviews. He has said his daughter loves to sing, which we think is just the most adorable thing ever. We can just imagine their fun family lifestyle and we think they must have their hands full with twins (in the best way possible, of course). We also love their family costumes; every Halloween the family dress up together as characters from popular books and films. Seriously, you can't get any cuter than that! We love how both parents get involved and we bet their kids love it even more!
7 Michelle And Barack Obama
Michelle and Barack Obama may have busy careers (in fact, Barack has one of the busiest careers in the world… ) but the pair still finds time to set morals and values for their daughters. Obama even changed the rules so that he could be a better parent. Soon after being inaugurated, Obama established a rule that said he would have dinner with his family five nights a week, which means he is only available two nights a week for political dinners and fundraisers. Their family dinners start at 6:30, and it's just them. Both parents also eat breakfast with their daughters on most days. Barack has also said that he has read all seven Harry Potter books aloud with his daughter Malia, and during his first fall in office he managed to read Life Of Pi with Sasha. Now that is a sign of great parenting -- he always puts his family first.
6 Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are parents to 3 kids; Trey Smith, Jaden Smith, and Willow Smith. They have a great family dynamic; both parents encourage their children, but they are also happy to take a step back to allow their children's creativity to flow. “Parenting is hit or miss," Will once said about raising his three children. “And it's experimental. So for me, it's a deep uncertainty that I carry around, with my kids. I just try to teach them everything that I know and love them as hard as I can love them. And hope for the best.” We think he sounds like a brilliant dad - and so does his son Jaden. Speaking about what it's like to work opposite his father, Jaden said, “He's kind of the same as we are at home when he's on the set.” His dad quickly responded with, “Loving and caring, right?” Jaden laughed and added, “And smart, too.” We love their father-son banter; not many children can say they have a dad as cool as Will Smith. Jada is also a proud mother, saying; “Being a wife and a mother is probably one of the most extraordinary experiences and the most fulfilling experiences in my life.”
5 Victoria And David Beckham
Victoria Beckham is beloved since she was one of the amazing Spice Girls, but since then, she's raised some amazing children with her husband, David. They're parents to sons Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, Romeo James Beckham, Cruz David Beckham, and daughter Harper Seven Beckham. According to eldest son Brooklyn, Victoria and David are “strict” but “really cool." He says that he is mostly told off for playing football inside the house by his mom so he must take after his dad! Victoria said that being strict with the kids is really important to her and David and that as a result, the kids have really incredible manners. She has a pretty funny story though: “That seems to be the one area I can't discipline them, they will not stop playing football in the house,” she once said. The pair seems like wonderful parents (even if their kids refuse to stop playing football inside!).
4 Beyonce And Jay-Z
A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce) on Jun 7, 2015 at 8:06am PDT
Beyonce and Jay-Z are so A-list that it's pretty hard to imagine them changing diapers, but apparently, Beyonce loves it! "I love changing diapers. I love it. I love every moment of it, it's so beautiful. I love it all!" Beyonce told Anderson Cooper on Anderson Live. She added that Jay-Z helps too, telling the host, "Actually, he is very good. We both [change diapers]." That isn't the only thing the pair have done for their daughter Blue Ivy. Jay-Z released a song about Blue Ivy and becoming a father, called “Glory”. Beyonce went a step further when she released her provocative new single “Formation”, which featured Blue Ivy in the music video. In the scene, three-year-old Blue Ivy is smiling and dancing in a white dress, alongside other little girls wearing white dresses. The scene is adorable, and it shows how proud singer Beyonce is of her gorgeous daughter.
3 Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds
The actor and actress make a stunning couple, but they make even better parents. The pair have a young daughter, and they are keeping her out of the spotlight completely. Blake, who is a first-time mom, told the LA times that having a baby takes a lot of patience. “Having a baby is just living in the constant unexpected,” Blake said. “You never know when you're gonna get crapped on or when you're gonna get a big smile or when that smile immediately turns into hysterics. It might be like living with a drug addict." She has said that she definitely wants to have a big family and that she definitely wants more children someday. Hmmm… We love her honest opinions about motherhood… and Ryan's hilarious tweets about being a father are also worth checking out. A power couple that are amazing actors and also amazing parents? They're pretty much the greatest.
2 Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson
When Tom Hanks first met Rita Wilson, no one knew how long their relationship would last. He was an internationally famous actor and had lots of short love affairs in the past. However, he turned out to be a total family man and the couple have now been together for over 25 years, and they have two children together. These two might be the perfect parents (we are definitely jealous of their children, just saying). The pair married in 1988 after they co-starred in Volunteers. They have two sons together: Chester Marlon “Chet” Hanks and Truman Theodore. The older son, Chester, is a rapper and actor. The family are often spotted out and about grabbing food together, and we think they seem like one of the most normal families in Hollywood. Their children seem well-rounded and happy, and so does their marriage. We hope that they spend many more happy years together as a family.
1 Brad Pitt And Angelia Jolie
Ok yes, we are all so devasted with the news of their split, but doesn't mean they don't deserve the number one spot. Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie have six children together: Maddox Chivan, Pax Thien, Zahara Marley, Shiloh Nouvel, and twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. Most of their children are adopted; Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne are Brad and Angelina's only biological children. The couple are known for their philanthropic work, so it is no surprise that they are also loving, doting parents. They are frequently spotted out and about with their children, and the family regularly take holidays abroad together. Despite occasionally being photographed by the paparazzi, Brad and Angelia make sure that the children live a relatively normal and private life. According to Angelia, Brad's a super wonderful parent. She said to The Mirror; “He loves being a father and that's one thing I'm most proud of about him. With a large family, you need that support. Brad is a wonderful teacher and guide for the boys in particular."
