15 Plastic Surgery Celebrity Confessions
Some celebs try to keep quiet about the fact that they are getting work done even if it's painfully obvious, but others are more open about it and don't have an issue explaining what they did or why. Plus there's the obvious fact that even if they don't say anything, well, the evidence is pretty obvious. Here are some celebs who have admitted to plastic surgery. Interestingly they have some very different takes on the matter. Some love it, some regret it, some see it more of a necessary evil.
15 Iggy Azalea
Iggy Azalea opened up about getting plastic surgery after her implants and a nose job, and she thinks that other people should be more open about it as well. She calls it "just the reality" now that it's 2016 and it shouldn't be so "taboo." She went on to suggest that the haters would probably do it too if they could: "Everyone tells you that you should love your body the way it is, but then it is bad to say that you want to change something about yourself not because you want to look like someone else, just because you want to? What's wrong with that? There's nothing black and white about beauty or plastic surgery. There are no guarantees that it will fix how you feel about yourself."
14 Kelly Rowland
Kelly Rowland waited a long time to get the implants that she had always wanted. From the time she was 18, she was basically really into the idea, but she took advice from her mother (and Beyonce's mother, too!) and didn't get them until the age of 28. She added that she spent a lot of time prepping mentally and physically, too, for the procedure. She even walked around with padded bras to get used to the feeling. She has also been rumored to have had a nose job like many celebs out there, but this has never been confirmed. As for her body, that's all strict healthy eating. She has said, "I never like to say diet. I like to say eating clean. Listening to your body and knowing what your body responds well to. For me, it's green vegetables or fish. I don't feel like I'm heavy or weighed down or lethargic when I eat. Food should give you energy."
13 Kathy Griffin
Kathy Griffin doesn't try to hide the fact that she had plastic surgery, and in fact, she even jokes about it in her standup acts. She started her plastic surgery journey when she got a nose job at the age of 26 at the recommendation of other people: "I was told repeatedly, 'You would be pretty if it weren't for that nose. You'd work more if it weren't for that nose. Hey, have you considered getting a nose job?' You would think I had a nose the size of Texas. I was young and impressionable and I was told that enough that I started to believe it, so I got a nose job." But she has also said that since comedy is her job, she doesn't get why she's so concerned with and worried about her appearance.
12 Jamie Lee Curtis
The actress has admitted to having some procedures done… and then not even liking the results. She also went through a rough period when she was actually addicted to pain killers following an elective procedure, which probably also turned her off from the whole thing. She has said: "I've done it all. I've had a little plastic surgery. I've had a little lipo. I've had a little Botox. And you know what? None of it works. None of it." She also explained that a decade ago, she thought she looked "puffy" on a movie set so she got the under-eye fat removed, and then realized it wasn't the greatest idea in the world.
11 Ashley Tisdale
The High School Musical star has admitted to getting a nose job, which she explained that she did for a "deviated septum"… which, as you probably know, is basically what every single person who gets a nose job says. It did actually change her appearance pretty dramatically and, yeah, probably helped her breathe a bit easier, which led some people to be critical about the star's choice. Apparently, there were some bumps to be removed from getting hit in the nose years before. After her first nose job, rumors were flying that she actually had a second nose job, but she's totally denied those claims.
10 Sharon Osbourne
In her autobiography called Unbreakable, Sharon Osbourne has admitted that she 's "genuinely disturbed" by how much plastic surgery she has had. She has also said that her own and her son's health scares both gave her a ton of perspective about putting the human body under so much stress: "There's not much I haven't had tweaked, stretched, peeled, lasered, veneered, enhanced or removed altogether. I don't think I'm as bad as some women - like Jocelyn Bride of' Wildenstein. But I won't be having any more cosmetic procedures." Sharon has also admitted that she had her vagina tightened, sharing that "It was just excruciating." Shudder.
9 Lisa Kudrow
The Friends star had a nose job back when she was in high school and has always been super happy about her decision. She has said, "I went from, in my mind, hideous, to not hideous. I did it the summer before going to a new high school. So there were plenty of people who wouldn't know how hideous I looked before. That was a good, good, good change. That was life altering." Interestingly, Lisa Kudrow was encouraged to stay in her first improv class by Conan O'Brien. He was throwing a ball around and was "totally committed to it" and didn't look as stupid as she would have figured, so that inspired her to stay the course. Looks like it was a really good decision.
8 Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton has never been shy about discussing the different types of plastic surgery she has had, from a boob job to botox. Not that she would have necessarily mentioned it if people hadn't noticed, but they did. She has said, in her classic style, "Well, I never would have said I did it if I hadn't got caught at it. But I wasn't gonna lie about it! I'm not being the poster child for any of that, but people know you do it. If they ask me, I just say, 'Yeah, whatever. And I ain't done yet!'" She also would recommend it to others.
7 Joan Rivers
The late Joan Rivers definitely talked openly about her plastic surgery. In 2008, she wrote a book called Men Are Stupid… And They Like Big Boobs: A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery. In it, she said, "Looking good equals feeling good… I'd rather look younger and feel happy than look older and be depressed." Joan had joked that she had received over 700 treatments at one point and even joked that they were like caffeine jolts. She never really let up on the surgeries and also mentioned that she'd like to have a twin to know what she would naturally look like in her older years. Joan passed away days after she stopped breathing after undergoing a routine endoscopy. She ultimately experienced brain damage from lack of oxygen.
6 Janice Dickinson
Janice Dickinson, the self-proclaimed "first supermodel", has admitted to getting a significant amount of work done, including an enlargement, tummy tuck, neck lift, facelifts, liposuction, and Botox. Janice even appeared on the TV show Botched where she revealed that her implants were less than perfect and ended up getting them redone. At the time she had had the implants in for 30 years, which is much longer than you're supposed to and pretty much shocked the doctor with that news. Yes, if you didn't know, implants are not exactly a one and done kind of thing. They require maintenance. At one point Janice's son Nathan even asked her to stop changing her appearance, but it didn't sound like she took that too seriously. Her response to the media was: "I won't do any more plastic surgery. If he's looking."
5 Tara Reid
The American Pie actress admitted that she got a boob job and liposuction procedure in 2004 but that it left her with deformity and rippled skin. She says she had such a weird, massive bump near her belly button that she wasn't able to wear a swimsuit and couldn't be hired. What about fixing it? She has said, "I'm scared about getting surgery ever again. It's like surviving a plane crash and getting on a plane again. [My stomach scars] are my battle wounds; boom, that's it. Would I be naked in front of a random person? No. Would I do the cover of Playboy? No."
4 Lisa Rinna
Lisa Rinna is known for having some pretty big lips, which she initially accomplished by getting silicone put into them. The only problem was, she didn't like the result. The Melrose Place actress later actually got them reduced on her reality show, Harry Loves Lisa. She explained that plumping up her lips so big got her mostly negative responses, and since the silicone is a permanent procedure, she has to get it cut out. These days people do their lips with temporary fillers made from hyaluronic acid which not only goes down over time as the body naturally metabolizes it, but it can also be dissolved on the spot with something called hyaluronidase if someone ends up not liking the results that they get from the volume.
3 Pamela Anderson
Pamela's career started when she was shown on the jumbotron at a football game and Playboy immediately got hold of her and offered her a cover. So it's pretty clear that she has had implants (or, well, a bunch of them). She's also, naturally, talked about it pretty openly. She says she didn't even really consider it too much because "everyone was getting theirs done." She has a pretty hilarious attitude about it: "I'd say they've had a pretty good career. I've basically been tagging along for the ride."
2 Courtney Love
Courtney Love has admitted to getting a nose job as well as some other procedures. She has said, "I had a really big nose. That schnoz was not taking me anywhere but radio," she has said. People have asked her if she regrets that decision and she has said definitely not. She has also mentioned that she got a facelift at the young age of 35 and that Goldie Hawn actually gave her the advice to do that. She has also paid a ton of lip service to the idea of aging gracefully, though, so that's a bit confusing and we're not totally sure where she really stands on the matter.
1 Heidi Montag
The Hills reality star Heidi Montag started undergoing plastic surgery treatments while she was still on the show, which meant viewers actually got to watch the whole process. In 2010, Heidi actually detailed her procedures to People magazine, at which point she ended up doing literally ten surgeries in the same day. She said she was told by her doctor to get a chin reduction and eyebrow lift, and she had no idea what that meant, but she felt "really insecure" and was given "a really great deal." She then said, "He didn't tell me how extensive it was going to be, how severe, how painful, so I had no idea.”
