Being on a top-rated reality show can for sure take a toll on any relationship, and that's especially true for the women of the immensely popular Real Housewives franchise. Since The Real Housewives has been on the air, viewers have seen the ladies at their best and at their worst. The cast members navigate rocky friendships, overcome adversity and face their with enemies… sometimes flipping a table or two in the process. We've witnessed the highs and lows of their relationships and marriages. Being on a reality show can obviously put pressure on your relationship, even if you think that you and your husband are super strong, and that can also amplify issues that are already present in your marriage by putting you under a microscope. There have been numerous marriages that couldn't last in the heat of the limelight and failed to withstand the test of time. Here are 15 Real Housewives who have gotten divorced after becoming reality stars.
15 Camille Grammer
Perhaps one of the most notable divorces of the franchise was Camille Grammer's from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Camille was married to well-known actor Kelsey Grammer for several years and the two had children together, too. She made her debut on the small screen in 2010. Camille has publicly stated that it was Kelsey's idea to have her appear on the show, and it was later revealed that he thought the show would be a good way to keep her occupied while he was off working in New York. Viewers could see that there was a clear disconnect between the couple… specifically, when Camille flew across the country to visit her husband and he was definitely less than pleased to see her. The two parted ways after her first season aired when it became super obvious that Kelsey had been carrying on an affair the entire time he was out of town on business. Although Camille was initially portrayed as a “villain” during her first season on the show, we all couldn't help but feel for her once unfortunate the details of her divorce went public.
14 Vicki Gunvalson
Vicki Gunvalson is definitely the “OG of the OC” (as she said last season in her themed intro). She's been on Orange County since the very first season. She's had her fair share of relationships. When we first saw her on the show in 2006, she was married to her second husband, Donn Gunvalson. The show often depicted Vicki taking Donn for granted by choosing to “whoop it up” on vacations that she never actually invited him on. Vicki is known for her over-the-top personality, while Donn is definitely an introvert. The two struggled to keep it together, but they also renewed their vows in one episode in 2010. Despite their best efforts, the pair went their separate ways in 2013. Since then, Vicki's highly controversial relationship with Brooks Ayers (who it came out faked his cancer diagnosis) has been a main (and super dramatic) storyline on the show.
13 Tamra Judge
Tamra joined The Real Housewives of Orange County in season three. At the time, she was married to her now ex-husband, Simon Barney. Simon was often seen fighting with Tamra's oldest son from a previous relationship, Ryan Vieth. The two men constantly butted heads and Tamra always had to choose between her husband and her first born. Tension reached an all-time high during an infamous scene in a limo when Tamra declared that she wanted a divorce. The two went their separate ways but said some pretty distasteful things about one another to the press. There were tons of court dates and custody hearings and things aren't perfect yet: Tamra recently revealed in the new season of the show that her son lives with her and her daughter lives with Simon who she hasn't seen in two whole years. Tamra married Eddie Judge in 2013 and that was even documented in her own spin-off series, Tamra's OC Wedding.
12 Adrienne Maloof
Adrienne was married to acclaimed plastic surgeon Paul Nassif when she was cast on Beverly Hills. The two constantly fought on the show and some viewers thought that it was just how they were as a couple. It turns out that the two's verbal jabs weren't all fun and games after all, and the couple filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences in 2012. The former couple battled it out in court with numerous allegations of mudslinging and violence and even went head to head over the custody agreement for their three children. Following the divorce, Adrienne left the show and has only made a few cameos since then. The two are still each super successful: Paul currently stars on the hit show Botched while Adrienne is the partial owner of multiple businesses, such as the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. She's also seemed to have moved on from the divorce and on to younger men.
11 Porsha Williams
Porsha Williams made her debut on the Atlanta version in the fifth season when she was married to professional football player Kordell Stewart. Their relationship became a point of contention on the show, as Porsha excluded herself from various group activities that she didn't think her husband would approve of her participating in. The other ladies on the show definitely noticed her hesitation to let loose and be herself, and they frequently confronted her about her husband's long list of restrictions. Porsha also dealt with fertility issues in her marriage. It was later revealed that the couple rarely were intimate and that was one of the real reasons she struggled to conceive. After only two years of marriage, the couple parted ways and went through a nasty divorce. Her split has done her some good because she seems to be doing better than ever and focusing more on herself.
10 Lynne Curtin
Lynne Curtin was featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County for two seasons before leaving the show in 2010. Lynne was best known for having her head in the clouds… and for her countless plastic surgeries in her bid to look as young as possible. Lynne's oblivious nature was made super obvious when her daughter received an eviction notice while at home. Lynne spent ample amounts of money on surgeries for herself and her daughters, never paying much attention to how much money was actually being spent. It was revealed that her husband, Frank, handled the family's finances… but he was also holding on to a secret. The couple had been broke for quite some time and on the verge of bankruptcy, unbeknownst to Lynne. Her husband said he intentionally failed to disclose the family's dire financial state because he didn't want to disappoint his wife or his daughters. Naturally, they started to seriously argue about money and trust. It came as no surprise that the couple eventually divorced after twenty-two years following Lynne's stint on the show.
9 Jeana Keough
Jeana was one of the original cast members of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Many seasons ago, Jeana was married to her longtime husband and father of her three children, Matt Keough. Tensions often ran high between Jeana and Matt, but she was notorious for finding tons of excuses for his bad behavior. Eventually, the two separated but they kept living in the same house. Jeana didn't continue her reign as a Real Housewife, but she makes cameos here and there, most recently as a friend of Vicki Gunvalson on the show's current season. Later, we all found out that Jeana and Matt officially went their separate ways and started living apart. Jeana has mentioned having several boyfriends since ending her marriage. While divorce is no happy time, Jeana has moved on from the dramatic life she once lived on RHOC and is now living a drama free life still selling real estate.
8 Luann De Lesseps
Luann, aka “The Countess”, has been a part of The Real Housewives of New York since the show's debut season. She was the fourth wife of Alexandre de Lesseps and they had two children together. Luann was always trying to uphold high standards of class and sophistication, mostly due to her title as a countess. The couple divorced in 2009 after Luann's husband allegedly cheated on her. Since then, Luann has definitely been on the dating scene and isn't super shy about it. She has had other long-term relationships and numerous rendezvous with gentlemen over the last few years. Currently, Luann is ready to take a shot at marriage for the third time and is engaged to Thomas D'Agostino. Who knows, maybe the third time will be a charm for The Countess. The two are set to marry in 2017 on a very special day. They'll ring in the new year with a marriage and a milestone birthday celebration for Thomas.
7 Dina Manzo
Long before making her mark as a Real Housewives, Dina and her husband-to-be appeared on another show called My Big Fabulous Wedding. Even back then, she admitted that her man had a propensity for cheating. Um… what? Dina ventured into Real Housewives territory in New Jersey's first season. At the time, she and her sister Caroline were married to brothers Tommy and Albert Manzo. While Caroline is still married, Dina and Tommy's divorce was finalized earlier this year. There wasn't much mention of the demise of their marriage on the show, mostly due to the fact that Dina left the show in its early stages, only to make a return several seasons later. Although her cameos are short lived because she is no longer living in New Jersey, making it a little hard to be part of the RHNJ franchise. After finalizing her divorce, Dina moved to Malibu so she can focus on her skincare line, Glow by Dina.
6 Yolanda Foster
Yolanda has been a staple cast member on the Beverly Hills version. In her debut season, she was married to David Foster, the famous composer, songwriter, and producer. Before that, she was married to Mohamed Hadid, real estate developer for luxury hotels and mansions, and also the father of Gigi. Bella, and Awar (you might know them). It was Yolanda's second marriage and David's fourth. Yolanda appeared to cater to her husband's every need, filling the traditional role of a supportive housewife. Things went south when Yolanda started suffering from a mysterious illness, resulting in loss of energy and inability to tend to her husband the way she typically would. Yolanda was diagnosed with Lyme disease last year, and the show has definitely shown the strain on her marriage. The couple spent nine years together and four years married before deciding to call it quits once filming wrapped.
5 Ramona Singer
The women of The Real Housewives of New York can't seem to catch a break when it comes to maintaining a successful marriage. Ramona Singer made her mark as a notable member of the franchise during the show's first season and has been a staple on the show ever since. Ramona was married to Mario Singer for what seemed like forever. The two have a daughter together named Avery. Over the course of many seasons, Ramona always insisted that she and her husband were madly in love and swore they had a great relationship. That all came to a screeching halt in 2013 when Ramona discovered her husband had been carrying on an affair with a younger woman. Ramona never believed what anyone said about her husband's cheating until she finally realized what was going on. They tried to get back together and make it work but they then called it quits, and they officially divorced in 2015. Since then, Ramona's definitely enjoying being part of the NYC single scene and is often shown on the show going out with eligible bachelors.
4 Phaedra Parks
Phaedra made a name for herself as a high-powered lawyer long before she became a Real Housewife and she represented celebrity clients such as Bobby Brown. Phaedra joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta in season three, and her romantic involvement with Apollo Nida was a bit of a scandal. Parks and Nida were used to being on opposite sides of the law since Phaedra was an attorney and Apollo had an extensive rap sheet and jail time history. The two got married and welcomed two sons over the next couple of years. Things went south for the couple soon enough, and it only got worse when Apollo was sentenced to eight years in jail for his involvement in various crimes. Tension hit an all-time high when Apollo was filmed confronting Phaedra at their home shortly before turning himself in to serve his sentence. While she initially hesitated to file for divorce from Apollo even though they were no longer romantically involved, Phaedra eventually moved on.
3 Nene Leakes
Nene Leakes is by far one of the most widely known personalities from this super popular and fun franchise. Nene became joined Atlanta in 2008 in the show's first season. Nene was an instant star and never failed to deliver snappy one-liners and drama. Nene was married to her longtime husband, Gregg Leakes. The two separated and got divorced in 2010. Rumors of Greg's infidelity played a massive role in Nene's decision to leave, along with feeling unappreciated. Nene dabbled in the dating scene for a brief moment, but that was a short-lived venture. In a bit of a plot-twist, Nene and Greg actually reconciled and in 2013 they remarried. All of this was of course televised for a spin-off series of her own, I Dream of Nene: The Wedding. Being on reality TV was likely one of the factors of their divorce, but the pair ultimately defied the odds and made their way back down the altar unscathed.
2 Jules Wainstein
The most recent Real Housewives relationship to bite the dust is Jules Wainstein's. Jules joined the Real Housewives of New York franchise this season. On the show, Jules is always taking a backseat to her husband's many distractions, such as his infatuation with being on his phone at all times, even at the dinner table. It was recently reported that Jules walked in on her husband in bed with none other than one of her close friends. She filed for divorce immediately after that revelation and the two have been in a public battle ever since. Michael denies his wife's allegations but admits that the relationship was over long ago and that he only remained with her for the sake of their two children. Only time will tell about the future of this couple, but there's no doubt that it will all be filmed for an upcoming season of the show.
1 Bethenny Frankel
Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel takes the top spot when it comes to reality show marriages ending in divorce. Bethenny is without question one of the most recognizable and marketable housewives. Bethenny hit it big with the success of her SkinnyGirl cocktails brand, but while she's been lucky professionally, the same good fortune hasn't found its way into her personal life. Frankel married her second husband, Jason Hoppy, in 2010 and it was documented on her spinoff series, Bethenny Ever After. The couple parted ways in 2012 and have been caught up in ugly divorce proceedings ever since. Thanks to Bethenny's immensely prosperous business ventures, millions of dollars are at stake. The couple didn't end things amicably (and that's putting it lightly) and there have been multiple court proceedings as well as custody hearings over their young daughter, Bryn. As of 2016, Bethenny is still legally married to her husband as the divorce battle rages on, but she had been linked to her fair share of suitors since then. She most recently is said to be dating banker Dennis Shields.
