15 Reasons Why Blac Chyna Is The Original Kardashian

Until recently, the name Blac Chyna may have sounded vaguely familiar to you, but once she started dating Rob Kardashian and announced she was pregnant with his child, her name became a household one. Born in 1988 as Angela Renee White from Maryland, Blac Chyna later found herself leaving Johnson & Wales University to pursue modeling for men's magazines and stripping. Before long, she had worked her way up the modeling and stripping chain and found herself with the coveted position of being a pole performer at the King of Diamonds Club, which is one of the most "elite" clubs in the country.

While many people were shocked by the announcement of Rob and Chyna's relationship, engagement, and pregnancy, they actually have a lot more in common than people may assume. Or, at least, Chyna has a lot more in common with the Kardashian sisters. If you watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians, you've heard the entire family's take on Rob's relationship with Chyna. Some of the sisters (mostly Khloe) have been suspicious and some (Kim) have been more supportive, as long as she makes Rob happy. People who don't assume Rob and Chyna are a good match, probably don't know much about her history, or her nearly meteoric rise to fame which is being touted as legendary, by many. Chyna is also credited with beating the Kardashians at their own game. Here's how.

15 She Started From the Bottom

The Kardashians have been famous for so long that it's hard to remember exactly how or why they became famous. While the Kardashians were somewhat known from their father, Robert, and his involvement with the infamous O.J. Simpson case, that wasn't enough to propel them to their current status. Once people remember the Kardashian's popularity skyrocketed in 2007 when Kim's tape was released and their reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered. Like the Kardashians, Chyna wasn't born into fame and fortune. She was born in Maryland and dropped out of college to go after her modeling dreams, and quickly became a highly sought-after and well-paid pole performer. From there, Chyna began associating with famous people like Tyga, Drake, and Kim and Kanye. It didn't take long before her massive social media following and publicized relationship with Tyga made Chyna a bonafide celebrity herself.

14 She Had Tyga First

You might know Tyga best from his on and off relationship with the youngest Jenner/Kardashian sister, Kylie. Kylie has known Tyga since she was at least 14 and he was 22, and by the time Kylie was 16 she was rumored to be dating Tyga, although at this point Tyga was still with the mother of his child and girlfriend… wait for it: Blac Chyna. When Kylie was 17, she and Tyga's relationship was clear for everyone to see, and Tyga even got her name tattooed on his arm as what appeared to be an apology for being unfaithful to her. Of course, there was drama surrounding Kylie and Tyga's relationship, not only because of her age but because of Tyga's relationship with Chyna, who was friends with Kim and Kanye. While there seems to be peace between all parties for the most part now, to this day, these relationships are deeply intertwined and often discussed in the media. What a mess!

13 Her Famous Derriere

The Kardashians are applauded and simultaneously made fun of for their exaggerated curves. They are often credited with bringing a curvier ideal back to society rather than the size 00 model that was on trend for so long. But Chyna holds her own in this category and worked her curves as a very successful stripper and model. Her backside is arguably bigger than Kim's, and has also been rapped about by the likes of Tyga, Joe Budden, and Nicki Minaj. Also like Kim, Chyna is often accused of having butt implants and other work done, although she insists her curves are all natural, just as Kim does. Regardless of how real or fake Chyna's curves are, one thing is for sure: she's subjected to discussion about them almost as often as Kim herself.

12 Mini Kim and Kanye

Kim and Kanye are a power couple, no matter how you look at it! Aside from the obvious similarities between Blac Chyna and Kim Kardashian, there was a time they were both dating rappers (Tyga and Kanye West, respectively) who ran in similar circles and the four of them were often seen together. While Chyna and Tyga may not be quite as talked about as Kim and Kanye, but they were a power couple in their own right. When the four of them were together, Chyna and Tyga were often regarded as the mini Kim and Kanye. While Kim and Kanye's relationship is still going strong, Chyna and Tyga broke up about two years ago, just as Tyga was rumored to be dating Kim's little sister, Kylie. Talk about awkward! After that, Kim and Chyna weren't seen together for quite a while, but now that Chyna is engaged to Kim's brother, their friendship appears to be back on.

11 Those Lips

If you bring up Kylie Jenner, someone is sure to mention her lips. Seemingly over night, they went from normal sized or rather small to super sized and everyone and their dog was discussing if she had work done on them. People all over the world wanted Kylies lips, even starting the Kylie Jenner Lip challenge where girls everywhere were trying anything to get their lips to be more plump without getting injections. Eventually, Kylie admitted that yes, she had lip injections and that she was sorry for keeping the truth from her fans. She then made lemonade out of lemons by going on to launch her incredibly successful Lip Kits. Blac Chyna also has an enviable pout, and hers may be all natural, if you look at the pictures from her younger days, she still has plump beautiful lips.

10 She's Been Shamed Like Kim

Kim Kardashian's rise to fame is undeniably due in part to the adult tape she made with Ray J being released in 2007. Suddenly, she went from the daughter of a lawyer involved in the O.J. Simpson trial to the star of a viral tape as well as of a reality show based around her and her family's lives. Because of how Kim got her start as a celebrity, she is often shamed. No matter how a person lives their lives, no one deserves to be shamed for their sexuality, and Blac Chyna would agree. Having started her career as a pole performer, Chyna is often made fun of and shamed herself for being "just a stripper." In 2015, Chyna and her BFF Amber Rose (Kanye's ex) showed up on the VMA's Red Carpet wearing outfits donning the words "SL*T" and other hurtful slurs many women are often called, in an effort to bring attention to the issue.

9 She Called Tyga Out Just Like Kim Called Taylor Swift Out

One of the biggest news stories of this year came courtesy of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Taylor Swift. When Kanye West released his song, Famous, that Taylor deemed unfair and unnecessary. She villainized West but Kim was quick to defend her husband. Taylor claimed she had no idea West would say what he did about her in his song, and also accused him of trying to take credit for her fame in her Grammy's acceptance speech. It didn't take Kim long to say she had proof that Taylor did know exactly what Kanye was going to say in his song before it was released, and was even in on the idea of initially tricking the media into thinking she didn't know. The problem was, Taylor continued to pretend she didn't know what was going to be said, but Kim called her bluff and released footage of a specific phone call between West and Swift. This phone call includes West reciting the lines about Swift to her, as well as Swift thanking Kanye for giving her a heads up. This was one of the most ultimate examples of epically calling someone out, but Chyna did something similar years earlier. When Tyga was accused of cheating on Chyna with a then 17-year-old Kylie, Tyga vehemently denied the accusations. Chyna called him out by posting screenshots of texts between the two of them in which he begs to spend time with Chyna. Oops!

8 She Got Rob Out of Hiding

A few years ago, Rob suddenly disappeared from Keeping Up With the Kardashians and from the public in general. This was rumored to be the result of several things including familial strife, weight gain, and depression. Rob has in fact gained a lot of weight over the years, and he appeared to try and hide how he looked from everyone. He moved in with Khloe, and she would discuss him on the show but couldn't get him to come out of hiding or change his lifestyle. Then, along came Chyna and Rob suddenly had no problem being seen in public, and even began posting pictures and videos of Chyna training him to get back into shape. Chyna was able to accomplish what no Kardashian could: facilitating Rob's comeback. Whether the Kardashian's are jealous of Chyna's skill or thankful that he's back, you can't deny Chyna has a positive effect on him.

7 She is Using Social Media to Dominate

Nowadays, people become celebrities solely from their social media presence. We see models who get their start on Instagram, as well as actors, singers, and comedians who are discovered through video sharing platforms like YouTube. While Blac Chyna didn't get her start on social media, she has certainly used it to her full advantage. She boasts over 7 million followers on Instagram, which is no small feat and quite impressive even when compared to Kim's 78 million followers. Chyna also has impressive followings on Twitter and Snapchat, where she shares Rob Kardashian's weight loss progress as well as her growing baby bump. You can often see updates of their life together, showing fans that she truly has his best interest at heart. Sounds kind of like Kim right? She continues to show the world her life despite what people may say about her, she does exactly what the Kardashians do.

6 She's Had Run Ins With the Law

In 2007, Khloe Kardashian was arrested for driving under the influence and in 2008 she spent a few hours in jail (out of a 30 day sentence). Scott Disick, a Kardashian by association has also had a run in with the law for a 2001 DUI. In January of 2016, Blac Chyna was kicked off a flight and then charged with public intoxication and drug possession, not something she is very proud of. Chyna allegedly became verbally abusive to staff in an airport restaurant and had to be dragged out by officers. Because of the amount of ecstasy she had on her at the time of her arrest, Chyna was charged with third degree felony possession. She was released on $8,000 bail and was required to complete counseling and drug testing. The Kardashians have also had their issues with the law, but Chyna seems to be showing the world that even though she may have had a dark past, she is on a good path now.

5 She Follows the Same Formula

If you break down the timeline of the Kardashian's meteoric rise to fame it goes something like this: media attention (adult tape and reality show), club appearances, profit, creating a business (DASH), dating celebrities (Ray J, Kanye West, Lamar Odom, etc), and resulting to mega-fame. For Chyna, her timeline involves media attention from dating Tyga, club appearances, starting her own business (Lashed), dating Rob Kardashian, and ultimately becoming very famous. Blac Chyna has been following this same path since roughly the same time as the Kardashians (2007), and although it may have taken her longer to get to the finish line, she has proved the Kardashians aren't necessarily an anomaly and other people can do the same thing. Some of them have fought harder to get to where they are, and many people will respect that.

4 She Has Famous Friends

The Kardashians have made their mark on the world in part due to the help of their famous friends. When Paris Hilton was a mega-star, Kim Kardashian was "just a friend" of hers who wold sometimes be seen in the background of her photos. At one point Paris even hired Kim to clean her closet and help organize her luxurious wardrobe. Still, this ultimately worked in Kim's favor and Kim is now a bigger star than Paris ever was, or will be. Chyna has made some famous friends of her own, and her appearances with them have done wonders for brightening her star. Chyna and Amber Rose, who was in a two-year relationship with Kanye West. Chyna and Rose have made red carpet appearances together and regularly share snaps of the two of them together. Rose has always been the first to speak out in defense of Blac Chyna, and it just goes to show having friends in high places can come in handy.

3 She's Made Her Own Emojis

Kim Kardashian recently launched her own line of emojis, naturally titled Kimojis. It didn't take long for Chyna to follow suit and make her own line of emojis: Chymojis. Her collection of emojis includes over 7oo emojis curated by Chyna herself. Among the 700 emojis are cartoon versions of classic pictures of Chyna, as well as emojis of Rob, Chyna, and their upcoming baby. As everyone is locked in wanting to find out more about the couple and their baby on the way, this was a great time for her to launch her own emojis. While Chyna's emoji's may never reach the level of success Kim's have, they have still done well and it goes to show Chyna is taking hold of her new found fame and milking it for all it's worth. Who could blame her? She is only doing what any smart person would do and making more money for herself while she can. You never know when your time as a star is up.

2 She's Beat Them at Their Own Game

There are always rumors surrounding the Kardashians, and besides the work they may or may not have had done, one of the most popular topics is their love lives. The media always wants to know who they are dating or how their relationship is going. Several of the sisters have been accused of stealing other women's men from them. Khloe reportedly began dating rapper French Montana while he was still with rapper Trina, and Amber Rose publicly accused Kim Kardashian for hooking up with Kanye West while he was still with Rose. When Kylie was accused of stealing Tyga from Blac Chyna, a pattern started to develop within the Kardashian/Jenner clan. Chyna flipped the game on the Kardashians and instead of stealing one of their romantic interests, she stole one of the closest men to their hearts: their brother Rob. Your move, Kardashians!

1 She's a Working Mom

Kim and Kourtney are both mothers, but they keep super busy with work and make an effort to still be as sexy and appealing as possible. Chyna is already a mother to one child with Tyga, King Cairo, and she is expecting another with Rob. Chyna has kept busy since becoming a mom and hasn't let her mom status stop her from showing off her famous curves and owning her sexuality. Many celebrities take a break from the spotlight when they're growing their families, but the Kardashians don't ever take a break from the limelight, and apparently Chyna isn't doing that either. She regularly flaunts her growing baby bump along with cute shots of her and her son. She will only continue to fight for her fame, as a mom she knows what it is like to have to provide for her family. Just like the Kardashians, she will only continue to keep wowing or shocking us.
