15 Super Disappointing Things About Pretty Little Liars SO FAR
Pretty Little Liars fans, the final ten episodes are here and, in fact, there are only a few episodes left. That is super sad news since you have been watching Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily for seven seasons now. You have watched them grow up and you probably feel like you have grown up right along with them… even though, of course, you don't have a mysterious stalker texting you all the time and ruining everything. But although you will definitely sob buckets when the series finale airs because you don't want to say goodbye to these characters, you do have to admit that you're not loving these final ten episodes as much as you thought that you would. There's just something missing and it's safe to say that it doesn't even feel like the same show. There are so many elements that are bugging you and it's time to take a careful look at what has happened so far. Here are 15 super disappointing things about Pretty Little Liars SO FAR.
15 The Liars' Suspicion Of Lucas
The Liars are pretty certain that Lucas might be Uber A… or at least that's what they thought for a few episodes this season. It totally stings that they would think that he would do that to them. Sure, you get that he's been a dork his entire life and that people always look to the computer nerds in these types of situations, since they are the ones that would be able to hack and sneak around and generally act creepy. But you don't want him to be Uber A. You just don't. You're always known that he had a super big crush on Hanna because it's pretty much the most obvious thing ever, and that was made more obvious in a recent episode when he told Hanna how he feels about her (without completely spelling it out, that is). While it might turn out that they were right to be worried about Lucas, you're hoping that's not the case.
14 The Board Game
At first, you were excited about the board game that A (or Uber A? It's kind of confusing) has designed for Spencer, Hanna, Emily, and Aria. It seemed like a super fun way to close out the series and you couldn't wait to watch everyone play. Plus let's just take a moment and talk about how amazing this board game is. It's beautiful (in a creepy way, of course). Whoever created this is a total genius. But how do you feel about this board game now? Don't you find it kind of boring? It's a shame that the girls are so freaked out about this game and that they seem like they can barely even stand to look at it, let alone step up when it is their turn. It's frustrating AF because you don't see the four main characters that way. You would expect them to take on the board game with renewed confidence and enthusiasm and that they would be determined to win and find out who A is, once and for all. So why isn't that happening?
13 Ali's Pregnancy
Let's be honest here. Ali has definitely suffered enough. Since the very beginning of the show, you have watched her have the worst life ever and now that she's been back in Rosewood for a while, that hasn't changed. She fell in love with an imposter and then realized that she was carrying his baby… but then she realized that, oops, it's not really his baby after all. In fact, the baby growing in her stomach is from eggs that Emily had harvested. Yeah, that's a bit of a bummer. You're not a big fan of this storyline since it proves that Ali is not done suffering and that it's going to be a long time before she can truly be happy and move on with her life. You really want to see her flourish and thrive, just like the other characters on this show, and it's frustrating that this hasn't happened yet.
12 Mona Being Evil
As a Pretty Little Liars fan, you know that Mona has been evil before. After all, she was the original A, and she was even sent to Radley because of it. But then it seemed like things had taken a turn and like she was on the other side -- aka the liars' side. When they were in the dollhouse, she was there too, and she was being held prisoner by A just like they were. Plus there's the fact that lately, Mona has been friendly with Hanna and has even been helping her with her budding fashion design company. You were pretty disappointed when you saw in a recent episode that Mona was still tormenting the girls and still had a lair where she was spying on everyone. Why does Mona still have to do this? Why can't she move on and stop being so awful? Doesn't she want to get on with her life and do something more productive and positive with her time? Ugh.
11 Spencer Being Mary Drake's Daughter
This is yet another disappointing thing about this show. Is it really necessary for Spencer to be Mary Drake's daughter? Couldn't Mary Drake just be a super creepy figure that lurks in the shadows of Rosewood and causes havoc? Why does she have to be related to one of the liars? This just complicates things and, honestly, makes it way too confusing. You also have to admit that Mary Drake is kind of a dull character. You hate to say that because this has been one of your favorite shows for a long time, but honestly, she's not all that thrilling to watch. She's always upset and hiding and complaining about something or another. Yeah, you get that she's had a horrible life, but you just don't think that this storyline adds much of anything to the show. It would have been so much better if Spencer had never been adopted.
10 Aria Going Over To The Dark Side
Were you shocked when Aria started working on A's team a few episodes back? It might not have been that surprising to you since some fans have been chatting online about how Aria might actually be A. After all, anything can happen, right? It's definitely been strange to see Aria on the other side. From the very moment that she got a call from A that asked her to help out, you had a weird feeling in your stomach, and you knew that this wouldn't go over well. You couldn't believe that Aria would do something like this… although, at the same time, you knew that she had absolutely no choice in the matter. What a confusing storyline. Of all of the liars that would be asked to help A out, you feel like Aria is not the right choice. You probably would have expected someone like Spencer or maybe even Hanna.
9 Everyone Getting Mad At Aria
Although you are pretty annoyed that Aria would help A, you also think that the other girls are totally and completely wrong for getting so mad at her. Don't they realize that if A had asked them to be part of the game, they would have to agree? It's not like they can say no. If they tried, they would find out pretty quickly that it was the wrong response. A is just not messing around. Spencer, Hanna, and Emily felt betrayed by Aria and could barely even look at her, they were so mad. They definitely didn't stick around to hear Aria's side of the story and you think that's a shame. Sure, eventually Spencer talked to Aria and it seemed like things might be okay, but Aria is still basically in the doghouse with them, and that's a shame. The girls should be sticking together right now, not moving apart from each other.
8 Emily's Storyline
You have to say it: you're not a fan of what Emily is up to in season 7B. You don't like that she accepted a job at Rosewood High. You think that she should be moving on with her life and doing something else because you can tell that this is not her passion and not something that she really wants to do. Working at Rosewood and being around Ali and Paige is just not the right thing for Emily. It proves that she's still living in the past and that she isn't looking to the future. Yes, you get that she can't really move on just yet because she and the other girls are still in the middle of this great big mess, but working at the high school is not a good idea. You also don't like that Emily wants to help Alison raise the baby because that's not something that should be taken lightly and you're not sure that Emily has really thought it through.
7 Spencer Is Mad At Her Family
Yes, you get that Spencer isn't a big fan of the fact that her parents have kept a huge secret from her: that she isn't actually theirs. It sucks to find out that you were adopted and it sucks even more to learn that you were actually the baby of a crazy person who has a pretty dark history. That's definitely not fun. But you hate that Spencer is so mad at her family because you think that they need to be sticking together, not moving apart. Spencer is at a crucial point in her life and she needs to be able to look to the future instead of focusing on all this A stuff. You also hate that her mom has talked about giving up her Senate seat because Veronica Hastings has worked super hard and she deserves happiness and success, just like everyone else on the show. It's just so unfair that everyone in the Hastings family is suffering so much.
6 Spencer Dates A Cop
Yeah, there's another thing that Spencer has done that is really bugging you. Hmmm… there seems to be a theme here. Spencer briefly dated Marco Furey aka a cop in some episodes of season 7B. At first, you might have thought that they made a super cute and sweet couple. They spent a lovely day together at a community center and she learned more about his family background. Things seemed to be going well… until he freaked out on her and started blaming her for absolutely everything. Now it seems like Spencer is going to take the fall for the disappearance of Archer Dunhill, Ali's ex-husband who turned out to be nuts (who Hanna accidentally ran over and killed). It's a shame that Spencer dated Marco since it could be argued that he is doing his very best to make sure that she gets in trouble.
5 Spencer Is Taking The Blame
On that note, it seems like Spencer is taking the blame for the mess that the four girls are in, and that really sucks. Chances are, you absolutely love Spencer. She might even be your favorite character on the show. Spencer is nothing if not a super Type A, organized and brilliant girl. She works hard, she has goals, and she always gets the job done. But lately, it seems like Spencer is totally floundering. She doesn't seem to be as put together as she did in the past and it's really sad to watch. The more that you think about it, the more you wonder if Spencer is going to end up in jail before the series is over, especially since A recently said that one of the liars has to take the fall for everyone. The girls are in the same situation because of A and they need to support each other and work together to finally defeat them.
4 The Way That Ezra Treats Aria
You definitely used to ship Aria and Ezra and you thought that they were one of the best couples on television. They were so cute together and so in love. Since Ezra was Aria's high school English teacher, there was also that whole forbidden love story aspect to it, and that was pretty cool. They have gone through so many ups and downs throughout the years but lately, it seems like Ezra just isn't putting the effort into the relationship that he should be. When his ex Nicole disappeared, it was definitely sad but you knew that Aria and Ezra would now find their way back to each other. Now that Nicole has been found, Ezra has been visiting with her and her family and it seems like he cares more about them than Aria. Sure, he's stopped all of that and renewed his commitment to Aria, but it's not enough. You're still annoyed with Ezra.
3 Spencer And Toby Aren't Back Together
When these two former lovebirds kissed a while ago, you were hoping that they would finally reunite. Of course, that didn't happen. He chose Yvonne instead and that was super painful for you. Now that she's passed away (which, yes, was pretty tragic), you have been waiting for Spencer and Toby to get back together. But even though they hooked up in the most recent episode, you don't know if they're going to officially get back together, and that's driving you pretty crazy. Sure, you could argue that they are going to hook up once again in the series finale and that will be a pretty epic way to end things. You are pretty sure that is going to happen since you can't see the writers and producers ending the show without this couple reuniting. But you're disappointed that they haven't gotten back together yet.
2 Hanna And Caleb Eloping
It's been great to see Hanna and Caleb realize that they are one true loves/soulmates/meant to be together forever. That's what you've been waiting for. But -- and you hate to say this because you are glad that they have found their way back to each other -- it sucks that they eloped. It also sucks that Caleb proposed while having a discussion with Hanna's mom Ashley Marin (in front of Hanna, that is). Come on Caleb. Don't you know how important a proposal is in a girl's life? Couldn't you have come up with something better? Okay, okay, you're just being picky here. It's just that you love Hanna and Caleb so much that you want the very best for them and that includes a dreamy proposal. At the very least, you want them to have a real wedding and celebration in the future. You know, once all of that A stuff is over with.
1 There Aren't Enough Answers
The number one reason that you are pretty disappointed by season 7B of Pretty Little Liars? That would be the fact that you just don't have enough answers. What, you're supposed to wait until the series finale airs on Tuesday June 27th for all of the answers that you have been searching for? The answers that you have been waiting for? The answers that you absolutely are owed after being such a huge and loyal fan? Ugh. You can't wait that long. Okay, okay, so it's not really that long, but it does feel like an absolute lifetime. You obviously want to know who A is. It's not even a want at this point, it's a need. It's your right as a fan. You also need to know who is on the A team and you basically need to know why all of this creepy and supernatural and crazy stuff is still going on, all of these years later. The finale needs to tell you absolutely everything.
