15 Worst Celeb Fashion Fails Of 2017 So Far
2017 is still young but that doesn't mean that we haven't already seen our fair share of celebrity outfits that make us think WTF! Yes, I know that celebrities can get away with outfits that the rest of us would look ridiculous in. We know that celebrities have to be outgoing, risky and entertaining. But there is a line you can cross, and these looks didn't just cross the line-they jumped over it. The outfits range from ugly, non-flattering or just plain bazaar. These fashion faux pas were seen on the red carpets, galas, fashion events or on the streets. It's unfortunate for them, but it is a reminder that they are like the rest of us. Everyone has a bad outfit day. We have all made questionable fashion decisions. The big difference is our mishaps won't go viral and be posted all over social media-yikes! We will be honest, we are kinda scared, it's only been a few months and we have already seen some pretty odd outfits. Is 2017 going to be the year of fashion disasters? You be the judge. 15 Def NOT Our 'Girl Crush'
Girl Crush, no we are not talking about the title of the hit song by Little Big Town. Girl Crush is the name of an American singer, songwriter, and television producer. We are all for fun, playful and colourful looks. The red carpet would be boring if everyone wore red or black dresses. But we didn't mean wearing a dress that reminds us of a gum-ball machine or the ball pit at McDonalds or Chuck E Cheese.
Girl Crush walked on the Grammys red carpet in a hot pink bandeau and a skirt with red, yellow, pink, green and blue balls. It's very different, and she stands out, but we are wondering how practical is it? How will she sit down once she is inside?
14 Sent Me To Your Leader
WTF!!! We are speechless. Unless he is auditioning for a role in the next Star Wars movie, why would he think this is a good idea? Is he at a Science fiction convention? Is he co-playing? If he was, I could understand this outfit. But he is not, he is at the Grammys!
A big fashion rule is to dress for the occasion. However, this is an odd choice for a music awards show where most celebs are in nice suits and gowns. Anyway, he definitely stands out in bright gold, and I suppose that is a great colour choice for an awards show. But that face mask/helmet is a no no. It is creepy and makes this outfit look more costume-like than red carpet attire. CeeLo, save this outfit for Halloween.
13 Chillin Like Oliver Twist
Most of you were waiting for a Kardashian or Jenner to be on this list. Well, you're in luck. Kendall Jenner wore this outfit during the New York Fashion Week at the Marc Jacobs collection show in New York City.
This is an odd choice for Kendall. She is usually seen in feminine styles. Here, she is in burgundy baggy pants, a baggy grey sweater and an oversize burgundy and brown corduroy jacket. Oh, and don't forget the exaggerated grey hat on her head. Doesn't she look like Oliver Twist? If she was relaxing at home, I would have no problem with this street-style outfit, but she is at a fashion show during New York Fashion Week. You would think she would be a bit more dressed up! This look is too casual.
12 Arrr! Where Is My Buried Treasure?
Recently, the Met Gala was held. The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala. The money is in support of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. There were many celebs in attendance, and there will be a few entries on this list from the event. First is Claire Danes.
Claire Danes looked different but not in a good way. Her look was different than her typical red carpet look. She took a risk that unfortunately was a fail.
It's bad enough that Claire Danes looks like a pirate. But did she have to look like a shipwrecked pirate?! Her white blouse is all ripped up. It's longer in some parts with ruffles all over. She pairs this with black trousers that have the bottom cuff rolled up. The outfit was designed by Monse. Simply, horrific.
11 All Eyez On Me But For The Wrong Reasons
Atlanta rapper, T.I. attended and performed at the late Tupac Shakur's 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. We like the sentiment of T.I.'s attempt to pay his respects to 2Pac, but the look just didn't work. He wore a leather corset and suspenders with black pants, Timberland Boots and Tupac's signature bandana tied around his head. This looks was a show stopper alright and had people talking but no positive comments. The outfit is very similar to the outfit Tupac wore on the cover of the 1996 New York Times.
Maybe the look is dated , maybe T.I.'s physique didn't quite work with this outfit, maybe he didn't have the right charisma to pull this off. Whatever it is, this look is a fail. Even T.I. agrees, and said this is a one-time outfit. This outfit should have been left in the 90s.
10 The Collage/Scrapbook Dress
Oh dear, this dress has a miss match of patterns that do not go together. We feel a little dizzy looking at this outfit. It is hard for our eyes to decide where to focus. There is a lot of things going on. The main pattern is an indigo, pink, yellow flowers and leaves pattern. Then, there are the pea green sleeves and trim at the bottom of the dress. And do not forget the sailor suit inspired random bow at the top of the dress. Besides the patterns, there are other issues. The dress is shapeless, with no neckline.
Thankfully, Courtney Love is standing in front of a black wall so that our eyes can look away and rest for a sec. This outfit just leaves us wondering, but why?
9 Warm In The Front, Breezy In The Back
WTH!!! Okay, looking at the front this outfit looks bad, but it gets worse! Azealia Banks went to the Moncler and Greg Lauren “Collide” party wearing a black bubble winter coat and denim short shorts. Congrats Azealia, you managed to wear two different seasons in one outfit. But remember we said it gets worse? When she turns around you can see her shorts are actually thong shorts! Who knew that was a thing. So, to sum things up, Azealia thought it was a good idea to walk around in denim thong shorts with her butt hanging out!
Why did she decide to wear a winter jacket with thong shorts? Does her upper half get colder than her lower? Anyway, the concept of thong shorts is odd. It sounds very uncomfortable. This looks has Azealia looking like she forgot her pants (and her mind).
8 What Does That Say?
Singer, songwriter, and actress, Charli XCX outfit has us thinking, huh? The main issue is the jeans. They are baggy, ill-fitting and too short. The front is covered with big white bubble letters. What is the word or slogan on her jeans? It is never a good idea to wear a slogan, saying or word on your outfit that you do not know what it says or means. That is just asking for trouble. Hopefully, she does know. Still, it just leaves the rest of us normal people confused.
The colour of the top is nice, but why is there random plaid bows on the side of the shirt? It doesn't match the shirt or make any sense. I am not sure where she is going, but she should have left this outfit at home.
7 Night Out Or Hitting The Beach?
What is going on?!? Is anyone else confused looking at this outfit? It just doesn't match. This dress looks like Gabrielle Union-Wade couldn't decide if she was going to have a nice night out or soak up the sun and go for a swim. One half looks like a black maxi dress, and the other half looks like a cute blue bikini. This dress is by Jean Paul Gaultier, which she wore to the Vanity Fair's annual Academy Awards celebration.
What could make this dress better? A different fabric? The fabric does not look fancy enough for an awards show party. This outfit gives off a relaxed beachy vibe. Perhaps she's spent too many years living in Miami. Maybe if it was all one colour it would look better, but it for sure remains an odd choice.
6 Double The Fashion Disaster
I know they're suppose to be fashion icons, but they're look is horrid. If you grew up in the 90s you must remember the Olson Twins. You were most likely a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen fan. They had various movies, tv shows, and their own clothing and makeup line. They're low-key nowadays, but they made an appearance at the Met Gala. What is worse than a celeb fashion fail? A double celeb fashion fail. Both twins looked equally bad in their outfits.
They both wore long lace dresses. The lace pattern reminds me of the table cloths my mom puts on our living room table when guests come over. The lace dresses are too long and shapeless. It just hangs off the twins small frame. Then there's the jacket with lots of different embellishments and colours of fur. I think the idea was to give off a gothic/bohemian vibe, but it just looks disastrous.
5 Skydiving Anyone?
What the F'ing F?!? Again, we are confused. Model, Helen Lasichanh wore an interesting outfit at the Met Gala. I get it, everyone wants to stand out, and wear something different than the typical award or gala gown. I applaud that, but WHAT IS THIS?!
Her hands are covered, making it look like they are missing. The shape of the outfit is wide and boxy (not a good look). She is wearing a Comme des Garcon red full body suit that appears to be soft and looks like a skydiving suit or pillow. This outfit has created many memes on social media saying she looks like a Teletubbie or the red couch from the children TV show, Blue's Clues. I see where they are coming from. There is definitely something cartoony about this outfit. Yes, is it unique, but not the best look for a gala.
4 Art Attack!
Chris Sullivan is an American actor and musician. He wore an unique ensemble to the People's Choice Awards. Ignoring the awful hat, his middle half looks great. A navy blue tuxedo jacket, white dress shirt and a red bowtie are appropriate for the red carpet. But as we move further down, things start to get weird. Instead of wearing a pair of navy blue suit pants to match his jacket, he instead wears loud light blue pants with multi-colour paint splashes. Uuummmm, yah no. Then he finishes the look with red New Balance sneakers that do not match with anything. We also can't forget about the random black baseball cap. It looks like two outfits are going on at the same time. It all doesn't make sense, and I do not know why he had to ruin what looked like an otherwise nice outfit.
3 S&M Mix Match
The Sports Illustrated model showed off her curves, which we applaud, but something is off with this outfit. Hunter McGrady wore this outfit to the iHeartRadio Music Awards. The black patent leather bra with the long netting would of looked better either without the netting or if the netting was shorter. Then there is the tight see-through saran-wrap long skirt. Because the skirt is see-through, we can see her underwear (or maybe it is a swimsuit bottom?). To top it all off, she is wearing a jacket that doesn't cover anything and just loosely hangs off her shoulders. There is too much going on in this outfit, and each piece does not work well together. She should of kept this S&M style in the bedroom.
2 Lady In Red
Wow! Katy Perry arrived at the Met Gala in a red custom made Maison Margiela dress designed by John Galliano. At first, it is hard to see Katy Perry because her face and head is covered in a long red veil. But it not just a plain veil; it has boasting springs, mirrors and the word 'witness'. I feel like there is a message this dress is trying to say, but we're not quite sure what it is…
This outfit was meant to be a piece of art, romantic and innate. But the message gets lost in all the overlaying silk, bedazzle and lace. Is this a live art installation? Or maybe an activist piece? Unfortunately, the message is lost in a sea of red fabric. It just looks like one big hell of a mess.
1 Exhibit A) Nicki's Melon
Not known to be the most modest rapper, Nicki Minaj doesn't leave much to the imagination in this outfit. She wore this sitting front row during Paris Fashion Week at designer Haider Ackermann's show. Her boob was completely out. No, it is not an outfit malfunction. It is intentional. She covers her goods with a mere piece of black tape (ouch). She finishes the look with a black blazer, shorts, and visor purple shades.
I don't know what she was thinking. This style looks very uncomfortable. We are all for freedom, and sometimes going braless, but this is ridiculous. I wonder how awkward it was for the people sitting near her, or, even worse, the models on the runway. Imagine walking on the runways looking into the crowd and you see Nicki Minaj flashing you. If she wanted to be noticed, she definitely accomplished her goal.
