13 Reasons Why Meghan Will Never Be Kate

Yes, it is true that our hearts are officially broken now that the world's most eligible bachelor is officially off the market. Since getting involved with the Prince of England, Meghan Markle's fame has risen from being a no-name actress to the envy of women around the world. Magazines are popping up everywhere with her picture right next to Kate Middleton's wondering if her fate will be the same as hers. Rumors have been swirling through the grapevine that he might plan on proposing sometime soon. While these may just be rumors, many people are starting to compare her to her potential future sister-in-law.

Though they are both very well-educated women who seem to carry themselves with grace, there just seems to be a few things that Meghan Markle is lacking in terms of being a royal. Maybe there is just something missing in those pictures with her and Harry. Kate and William have a chemistry that cannot be denied which is why they have been soaking up the lime light for so long. Since we don't see Harry and Meghan out and about nearly as much, there is still reason to believe that their relationship just might not be that monumental. Here are a few reasons why Meghan will never be the next Kate.

13 She Didn't Grow Up With Harry

William and Kate were roommates and friends long before they became a couple. Because of this, there is a long-standing familiarity between the two of them since they were college sweethearts. Meghan doesn't have that kind of history with Harry, and their relationship has not been documented at a long length throughout the years. People have been watching Kate since the early 00's, so pretty much everyone knows who she is. When you see William and Kate in the public eye, they just seem like that old couple trapped inside a younger couple's body. With Meghan and Harry, it is pretty clear that they haven't been together for that long and they might still be in the whole "lust" phase. Kate and William have a strong friendship within their marriage.

12 She's A Cali Girl

Not only is she from the other side of the pond, but she is a West Coast gal. She probably grew up with a beach nearby while Kate was dealing with the London fog. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she is not the stereotypical "blonde California girl", but she does seem to have that chill-girl vibe to her in interviews. Kate seems to have a more poised, planned out way of speaking, and it seems like every word is thought through in a more refined manner. This is not to say that Meghan isn't educated, as she double majored in Theatre and International Studies at Northwestern University. She just doesn't give off those proper vibes the way that Kate does.

11 She's A Hollywood Actress

Could you really see Kate Middleton on the silver screen? We didn't think so (unless she is playing herself… maybe). Meghan Markle currently resides in Toronto where her role in Suits is filmed. When she is all over the red carpet, she glimmers and shines. Kate isn't really seen as much on the red carpet as much as she is seen at charity events and royal outings. Kate is seen more as a symbolical pseudo-political figure whereas Meghan is on the small screen where we can actually see her and hear her speak more often. Kate maintains a certain enigma, since she isn't really seen playing someone that she is not. Though Meghan Markle didn't get as famous until she met Harry, fans of Suits had certainly recognized her before the fact.

10 She Is 3 Years His Senior

He is 32 and she is 35. You would expect Harry to always be running around with a 20-something year old (which he probably has before meeting Meghan). This is clearly not the case with Kate Middleton. Kate and William are exactly the same age. Alright, so maybe the age difference isn't really that big of a deal. However, it is usually better for women in their 20's to date a guy who is at least a few years older than them for the sake of maturity. Maybe the rules change once you are still dating in your 30's… Though Meghan Markle may not look that much older than Harry, you have to wonder how she must feel about dating a guy who is a little bit younger than her…

9 She's Already Been Married

Meghan has already been married for two years from 2011-2013 to movie producer, Trevor Engelson. He is 40, which is 8 years Harry's senior-talk about an age gap to be transitioning into! William was Kate's first love, and they are still going strong. Though it is pretty unclear how the Royal Family would think of Harry marrying a divorced woman, we can image internally it is a serious topic of concern. Yet, it seems to be no problem for him, so maybe that is all that matters… Plus, she has probably learned some lessons from the first marriage (at least let's hope for her sake). I'm sure that whenever Meghan was going through the pain of her first divorce, little did she know that her Prince was yet to come! Lucky her… *sigh*.

8 Harry Is Not Heir To The Throne

Since Harry is not the first born son, he is second in line to be heir to the throne behind William. Though dating someone like Prince Harry will certainly give you a lot of attention and put you in the spotlight, it doesn't seem to carry as much prestige as being married to the heir to the throne. Kate probably feels like she has bigger shoes to fill as William's wife, making her the Duchess of Cambridge. So, would that make Meghan the Duchess of… LA? LOL. Yeah, that doesn't really have as much of a ring to it. Being second in line for heir to the throne definitely takes the responsibility of having to live up to a certain image, doesn't it Harry?

7 Harry Has A Playboy Reputation

It is no secret that Harry has had more than his fair share of ladies throughout the years. There are pictures of him flirting with multiple girls, and he hasn't been known to really have a serious relationship up until this point. He has a reputation for having party animal antics and reckless ways. Prince William, on the other hand, seems like the Royal Family's "good boy" or upstanding son, while Harry gets to be the wild card. Kate probably doesn't have to be looking over her back constantly. Meghan might want to keep his past in mind if things get anymore serious. Who knows, he might be ready to finally settle down. Perhaps she was able to tame him and hook the Prince. Only time will tell.

6 They Haven't Been Together For That Long

Harry confirmed his relationship with Meghan on Nov 8, 2016. He requested that the media would "stop the wave of abuse and harassment." According to him, there were even photographers showing up at Meghan's mother's front door. Though that might not have been the ideal way to confirm his relationship with bae, it really hasn't been that long since that statement was released. It hasn't even been a year, in fact! Kate and William have been together for more than ten years (married for six), so that definitely seems like a more secure relationship. Though there's a chance that Meghan and Harry might transform into a long-term relationship, it's still way too soon to tell.

5 She's Exotic

Kate seems too perfect, like almost cookie-cutter. Almost to the point where it could even be seen as a bit boring. Meghan, on the other hand, is an exotic beauty. Her mother is African-American and her father is of Irish decent. She has an allure about her that is a bit more sultry than Kate Middleton's girl-next-door look. Prince Harry probably doesn't want someone like Kate because he obviously comes across like he would have a different type than William. Due to the Royal brothers' opposing personalities and dating history, their taste in women won't be similar either. Regardless, Meghan is a gorgeous woman in her own right and might add a bit of spice to the traditional Royal Family.

4 She Has Her Own Career

Kate's title is the Duchess of Cambridge. Sure, she has worked in fashion and worked for her dad's company. However, none of those have turned into a true career as of right now. Her job is to be a public figure and a symbolic ambassador of England. Her role is to be William's shadow and uphold a royal image. Meghan has already established her own career as an actress, and recently a humanitarian and activist, and is known to the public in her own right besides being the significant other of a Royal Family member. Unless she retires from acting and becomes a full-time duchess, chances are that she will be traveling and working on sets. There will be less time for well-to-do duties that Kate frequently engages in. Whether the Royal Family will consider that independence as a strength or a weakness is yet to be determined.

3 They Are (Possibly) Settling Down At A Later Age

Though most people would stress about being over 30 and single, it looks like celebrity couples are owning it with ease. Kate and William have been together since before their early 20's (though there was some on-again, off-again drama). Meghan and Harry found each other when they were both past the age of 30. This can be a good thing because by the time you are at that age, you already know what you want and what works for you. You have already been through the ups and downs of past relationships to know better. Plus, they have probably experienced the joys of being single in your 20's rather than being locked down in a serious relationship. They most probably have experienced a certain amount of freedom during their youth that William and Kate haven't.

2 She Hasn't Been In The Public Eye For Very Long

Though Kate Middleton's stardom really didn't come to a peak until after the announcement of her engagement to Prince William, she has been in the spotlight for as long as they have been dating. She has been featured in Vogue even long before he even popped the question. It is no secret that Kate Middleton is famous for being the girlfriend/fiancé/wife of Prince William. Meghan just recently got even more famous for dating Prince Harry, and it is still too soon to tell. However, being hounded by paparazzi if you are dating one of the Royals has to take its toll on a person. In fact, Harry's ex-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, talks about how "scary" and "uncomfortable" it was to be living under that type of scrutiny. Maybe it takes a recently established actress to handle all of that? If she is still on the growth spurt of her career, her level of ambition and energy might be in the right place. Then again, she might not have the required background and experience to handle the heat.

1 She's Unfamiliar With British Culture

There is just something about that British accent that makes everything sound right and proper. Us Americans don't really give off that automatic eloquence, since our accents aren't exactly praised for being the most posh. The British just seem more sophisticated than Americans. Meghan can wear those fascinator hats and try to rock those tweed dresses. But at the end of the day, she would look like she is just trying to be something that she is not. Even if she were to fake the conservative fashion sense of a Royal Family member, it just wouldn't really look right in pictures. It is even rumored that she wore a sexy red dress to Pippa Middleton's wedding… She probably stuck out like a sore thumb. Poor, girl.
