We are pretty obsessed with celebrity scandals, we are not going to lie. Of course, our idols are going to mess up sometimes and make mistakes. They are only human, after all. The only difference is that they have more money than us (and sometimes that cash flow leads them to mess up big time), and, of course, their screw-ups are broadcast on a global scale. 2016 has blessed us with a ton of things to talk about! For some reason, it feels like Hollywood went completely crazy in 2016. There were relationship scandals, call-outs, and international lies. Maybe there's something in the water? Needless to say, this has been quite a year. Let's go with interesting. Yup, that works. Here are the 15 most scandalous celebrity moments of 2016. There were a whole lot more (like we said, it was quite a year) but we're talking about the best/worst ones.

15 Ryan Lochte Lies About Being Robbed In Rio

Ryan Lochte shocked the world during this year's Rio Olympics when he said that he was robbed at gunpoint. The Olympics had already made headlines for the subpar living quarters provided for athletes and there were tons of rumors that it was kind of dangerous, so of course, the media ran with the story. When the government claimed that Ryan was lying, no one believed them… until Ryan's story started to fall apart. It turned out that Ryan Lochte completely fabricated his account. Yes, a gun was pulled on him and a few other swimmers… but only after they trashed a gas station, which is a very different picture than the one that Ryan painted. Who would expect this famous athlete to create such a global scandal? And for what? To look cool? He definitely paid the price and he ended up losing major endorsements with Speedo, Ralph Lauren, and a few others.

14 Kimye Call Out Taylor Swift

In what has been dubbed the call-out of the century, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West brought Taylor Swift down a few notches when they proved that she was indeed aware of the gross lyrics in Kanye West's song "Famous." She said that she hadn't heard the lyrics, but Kim posted Taylor and Kayne's phone call recording on Snapchat. It was pretty epic, to say the least. We're not excusing Kanye's arrogant claims that she owes him credit for her fame because, let's be real, Taylor was already famous long before that famous episode. But Taylor Swift has made a habit of telling half-truths and twisting narratives to fit her image. And with Kanye West's history of being arrogant and her reputation as America's sweetheart, it totally feels like Taylor manipulated the situation to make Kanye look bad. Or at least worse than he already did. But it literally wound up biting her in the butt since Kimye tore down the facade. Hopefully, going forward, this will make for a more open, less-catty Taylor Swift. Come on, it needed to be said.

13 Michael Strahan Leaves 'Live! With Kelly and Michael'

Before this year, nobody could have convinced us that Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan weren't thick as thieves. Their chemistry as co-hosts was explosive and they seemed to really enjoy each other's company. Apparently, it wasn't all rainbows and sunshine because when Michael Strahan announced his exit from the show, he hadn't even told Kelly Ripa. Sources close to the show claimed that it was because they were fighting behind the scenes. Kelly Ripa was the last person to know (before the public) about Michael's decision to leave the show for Good Morning America, and boy was she heated. Which is totally understandable. In this case, Kelly was the veteran of the show, so she should have been filled in on the fact that half of her show was about to leave. That's a lot of stress to be put under. Michael's career move is probably for the best, though. If there is that much animosity between two people, then they should probably put some distance between them.

12 Amber Rose Destroys Kanye West During Twitter Spat

Amber Rose and Kanye West have a long, interesting history. Before Kanye married Kim Kardashian, he and Amber dated around 2008 and 2009. After breaking up, they've been less than amicable, and have been known to throw digs at each other every now and then. But their feud came to a head in January 2016. Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa (Amber's Ex) got into a Twitter spat and Kayne ended up mentioning Amber's child. She wasn't having it and hit back at Kanye with a tweet that spread like wildfire. The tweet was so explicit that we can't exactly quote it here… or reference it at all for that matter. Apparently, the exes have made up since then. This September, at the 2016 VMAs, Kanye West gave a shout out to Amber.

11 Khloe Kardashian Insults Chloe Grace Moretz

Say what you want about the Kardashian/Jenners family, but they sure are a tight knit group. If you ever decided to come for one of them, they're going to come for you, too! That's what happened to Chloe Grace Moretz when she made a comment about the whole Kim Kardashian/Taylor Swift feud. She tweeted, "Everyone in this industry needs to get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what's ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world," and "Stop wasting your voice on something so petulant and unimportant." Khloe Kardashian, of course, jumped in to defend her sister, Kim. In response to, Khloe Kardashian sarcastically tweeted a photo of a Blonde woman in red bikini bottoms that was photographed with her but exposed on a beach, next to a photo of Chloe wearing a red bikini top. The tweet was captioned, “Is this the hole you're referring to @ChloeGMoretz ???” Though rude and totally out of line, for the sake of comebacks, that would have been a great one. The only problem? That wasn't Chloe Moretz in the photo. It was a random woman. Better luck next time, Khloe?

10 Chris Brown Has Standoff With Cops Outside of Home

Do you remember when a SWAT team surrounded Chris Brown's L.A. mansion? Us too. As ridiculous as this whole situation was, we're not really surprised that it happened. This is Chris Brown we're talking about. Chris Brown is a drama magnet and trouble seems to follow him, even when he's not at fault (however rare that is). In late August, the popular R&B singer made headlines when a SWAT team attempted to get a search warrant to enter his home. The reason? A woman that apparently wasn't invited called the police and claimed that Chris Brown had pulled a gun on her. The entire thing was crazy. While the story was updating, Chris Brown took to his Instagram to display his side of the story and declare his innocence. According to him, he had been asleep in his room when the alleged incident occurred. He also claimed that the woman made up the whole thing because she had been kicked out for trying to steal his jewelry.

Oh, Jelena… how we miss you so. It was a simpler time when Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were together. Their respective fan bases may have had their differences but they tried to put on a united front. Justin Bieber had a brief fling with Sofia Richie over the summer. Justin was obviously super into her because he plastered photos of her all over his Instagram page. His super possessive fans sent both Justin and Sofia tons of hate because they couldn't stand seeing them together. Kanye West is a lot of things. Some would call him an arrogant jerk. Some would call him a musical genius. We'll let you decide what you think but we can definitely all agree that "predictable" is definitely not on the list of things that we could call him. Kanye West has shown us time and time again that we will never know his next move. Just a few weeks after Donald Trump won the Presidential election, Kanye West told the crowd at a concert that he didn't vote, but if he did, he would have voted for Trump. "I'm, sorry what?" was the collective response from most of his fan base, who proceeded to disown the rapper. Of course, Kanye has the right to vote for who he wants, but we think it's safe to say that Kanye's support of Donald Trump is shocking. But that goes to show you: you never know who people really are.

When Blac Chyna's ex, Tyga hooked up with Kylie Jenner in 2014, the media went wild. Why? Well, because Kylie Jenner was underage, though both Kylie and Tyga have said that they were only friends at that time. Most people don't believe it, but we weren't there, so who knows. Uncomfortable age difference aside (Tyga is 27), Blac Chyna used to be friends with Kim Kardashian who is Kylie Jenner's sister. So there was all kinds of conflicts of interest going on. At first, people felt sorry for Blac Chyna for having the father of her child leave her for a possibly underage girl. Not to mention that girl is your ex-friend's little sister. In a twist that no one saw coming, Blac Chyna ended up dating Kim and Kylie's brother, Robert Kardashian. The couple just had a baby and are engaged. Who knows if they will ever actually make it down the aisle, but we'd definitely say that Chyna won this round.

6 The Search For "Becky With The Good Hair"

When Beyonce released her album, Lemonade, earlier this year, the reception was mostly positive. It was a stark contrast from her previous mainstream collections of songs. You definitely aren't going to find "Single Ladies" part two on there. Her new album talked about deeper issues like race, womanhood, and cheating. And if Beyonce's lyrics are autobiographical, then we're supposed to assume that Jay-Z stepped out of their marriage at one point in time. The song that alludes to that the most would be "Sorry." In the mid-tempo track, Beyonce warns the man in the song to go find "Becky with the good hair." Then the internet (mostly the Beyhive) went on an insane hunt to find out who this woman was that Jay- Z allegedly cheated on her with. And what made her hair so good? After lots of digging, the internet came up with a list of women that included Rihanna, Rita Ora and Rachel Roy, but no one actually knows who Becky is. If she even exists at all.

5 Amber Heard And Johnny Depp Divorce Drama

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were married for a little over a year, but something tells us that their post-divorce feud will last way longer than that. In the wake of their divorce, Amber Heard alleged that Johnny Depp had been verbally and physically abusive to her during their marriage, claims that Johnny Depp denies. The backlash has not been pretty for either side. Depp fans call Amber an attention seeker, while Heard fans have labeled Depp as an abuser. After a nasty court battle, Amber Heard was granted a 7 million dollar divorce settlement, which she pledged to donate to charity. In light of that news, Johnny Depp is trying to hold off on paying the money to Heard directly so that he can make the donation on her behalf. As of this week, Johnny Depp has requested that Amber Heard couch of $100,000 of his legal fees. Ahh… the drama.

Taylor Swift is known for dragging her exes through the mud after their relationship ends. We're sure that most of them deserved it, but Taylor should have known that her habit of burning bridges would come back to bite her one day. It definitely did this past spring. Shortly after Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris called it quits, Taylor decided to throw some shade his way, but Calvin was definitely not having it. When they were still together, Taylor helped write Calvin Harris' super hit, "This Is What You Came For." No one knew because Taylor used a pseudonym, Nils Sjoberg. After they broke up, Taylor tried to make it seem like Calvin wanted to take all of the credit for the song, but that's obviously not what happened. When you write under a pseudonym, you obviously don't want people to know who you are. Calvin addressed the drama on Twitter, as you do, and said that it was "hurtful" that Taylor and her team would try to make him look bad and that Taylor wanted to keep their collaboration a secret. He also alluded to her ongoing feud with Katy Perry by saying that he wouldn't allow Taylor to "bury" him like she tried to do to Katy. Burn.

3 Kim Kardashian Robbed In Paris

Kim Kardashian, Queen Of The Selfie, has all but faded away from social media. Okay, not really. But compared to her 24/7 open book lifestyle, she's been pretty reserved as of late. We don't blame her, though. In early October, while in Paris Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint and millions of dollars worth of jewelry were taken. The event was said to be so traumatizing for the reality star that she had to hire extra security to be with her at all time. Of course, not everyone believes that this actually happened, as the Kardashians have been known to be attention seekers. But come on. We can't see any of them going this far in the name of attention. They're already on our feeds 24/7. Whatever happened that day, Kim hasn't been the same since. Let's hope that Kim gets the counseling she needs and that 2017 is filled with more Snapchat takedowns and selfies. Life just isn't the same without those.

2 Nate Parker Allegations Resurface

Nate Parker used to be a respected director, producer, and actor. Now? Not so much. At least for some. Whereas there was a lot of buzz surrounding his film, Birth Of A Nation, allegations of some questionable things he's done have resurfaced earlier this year and tainted what could have been a proud career moment. The allegations were originally made in 1999 when Nate was a college student. The woman claimed that Nate took advantage of her and he was eventually acquitted of all charges, but transcripts of recorded phone calls between Nate and the alleged victim reveal that he might not have been as innocent as he claimed to be. When during press tours for his most recent film, Nate Parker maintained his innocence. Even though he was vindicated by the courts, it's safe to say that his image has been tarnished for good and that this was one celebrity scandal in 2016 that is not even remotely entertaining.

1 The Brangelina Divorce

It was the day we stopped believing in love. It was the day the world's collective hearts broke. What are we talking about? The day that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, better known as "Brangelina" ceased to exist. After a relationship that was over a decade long and after adopting six kids, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. OMG. Who would do such a thing? As if that wasn't bad enough, Angelina filed court documents asking for full physical custody. Angelina alleges that Brad was physically abusive to their oldest child. These are super serious accusations, and if they're true, it makes us look at this couple in a completely different light. Who could blame Angelina from removing herself and her kids from a situation like that if it's true? The case is still ongoing, but things are not looking good for their family or their images. It's safe to say that things will never be the same with these two. And that makes us quite sad, especially for their children. Come on 2017. Your celeb news is going to need to be a whole lot happier.
