15 Times Katy Perry Was A Bully

Katy Perry is undoubtedly one of the most successful pop singers in the world and she has a hive of loyal followers she affectionately calls her "Katy Cats." Her colorful, bubblegum pop videos and larger than life performances have earned her a reputation as sweet as cotton candy. But who is the real Katy Perry?

Over the past few years, the Teenage Dreams singer has not been able to keep her mean side under wraps. With cameras catching her bitterness and all the harsh comments she has made to the press, it's beginning to look like she can be quite the bully herself.

Forms of bullying are humiliating others, being verbally abusive, and even purposefully ignoring someone to make them feel inadequate. Psychology Today explained, "Bullies couldn't exist without victims, and they don't pick on just anyone. No one likes a bully, but no one likes to be a victim either." When it comes to victims Katy has plenty in her firing line and these following celebrities, journalists and fans have all felt the scratch of her Katy claws.

15 When She Mocked Britney Spears' Mental Breakdown

Katy Perry caused a lot of uproar online when she took to the red carpet during this year's Grammys and mocked Britney Spears' mental breakdown not just once but twice. Speaking with reporter Nancy O'Dell, she replied to a question about her new hair color, "It's the last color in the spectrum that I can do. I've done all of them, and the only thing left to do is shave my head, which I'm really saving for a public breakdown. I'm down for that." It was quite obvious she was referencing Britney's breakdown in 2007 when she shaved her head.

Later she spoke with Ryan Seacrest and when he asked how she was doing, she replied, "Fantastic, I haven't shaved my head yet. That's called taking care of your mental health." The worst thing was Katy was mocking Britney almost ten years to the day the incident happened.

14 When She Completely Disrespected Ed Sheeran

Only last week, Katy was interviewed on BBC Radio One to help promote her new single Chained To The Rhythm but she took it as an opportunity to be disrespectful and bully singer Ed Sheeran. When she was live on air, Ed Sheeran walked past and she shouted at him, "Oh babes! Thanks for keeping me off the number one spot, THANKS!" before sticking up her middle finger at him.

She then mockingly added, "Oh, you're so approachable, oh, you're everybody's best friend, ohhhh great!" Sheeran clearly had had enough and walked into the studio but Katy continued to be rude to him. She snapped, "Now that you're ED SHEERAN it's like, 'Put your b******k on me'. Back then it was just Ed Sheeran, a guy with red hair who played guitar." Maybe she is just bitter as his single Shape Of You took the number one spot she was so desperate for.

13 When She Called Mariah Carey A "Throwback"

If there were one pop diva that nobody would dare slate to the press it's Mariah Carey - unless your name is Katy Perry then you will definitely go there. During an interview with Australian breakfast show Sunrise, Katy was asked about Mariah Carey and the I Kissed A Girl singer mocked her age claiming, "Oh she's fabulous… for a throwback."

Katy then went for a stab on the singer's age again when she added, "I love Honey - I listened to all of those songs growing up." We get it Katy; you're a lot younger than Mariah. Nobody is quite sure exactly how old Mariah is although it has been claimed she's around 46 or 47-years-old. Mariah herself said, "I don't have a birthday. I was just dropped here. It was a fairyland experience."

12 When She Threatened Kara DioGuardi

Katy always had a "sunshine and lollipops" thing going on when it came to her own image. Then she appeared as a judge on the US version of the X Factor and her fans began to see the real Katy. In 2012, she bullied her co-judge singer-songwriter Kara DioGuardi and picked at every decision she tried to make. The bullying left Kara with a constant hurt look on her face although fellow judges Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson never defended her.

When Kara affectionally started to sing I Kissed A Girl, Katy threatened, "Please stop before I throw my Coke in your FACE!" After the show was over, Kara told US Weekly, “We used to be friends. We were, like, cool.” Picking up on the past tense used here, we're just going to go ahead and guess the two are no longer on speaking terms.

11 When She Bullied Ryn Weaver

It really went down at Coachella 2015 according to singer Ryn Weaver who labeled Katy a "bully" on Twitter. It all started when Katy endorsed Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton on Twitter and Ryn replied, "No offense @katyperry but considering how much of a bully you were to me… I hope u don't mind my mindful disagreement w ur $ endorsement."

When fans asked for more of the story she added, "If u must know… She came up to me and my friends… Knowing I played… After we were friends. Then stared at me the whole time she spoke to my friend waiting for me to speak. Anytime I spoke she started turning her head around pretending she heard something. Then said "Do you hear something?" While staring at me… Anytime I spoke… After we were already friends… Did this the entire night… " Really, Katy? That's just straight up bullying.

10 When She Embarrassed Miley Cyrus (Twice)

Katy really knows how keep her feuds alive. The Roar singer threw some deadly side-eye at Miley Cyrus during the VMAs in 2014. During the acceptance speeches, Miley started welling up and even wiped a tear from her eye, Katy, who was sat beside singer Sam Smith, shot a look so deadly it was enough to make anyone want to curl up and cry even more.

A couple of years later and Miley tried to bury the feud. She invited Katy to watch her live and even pulled her out the crowd for a kiss, but then in typical Miley style she went for a full-on snog. Katy backed off and looked disgusted with the Wrecking Ball singer. She told the Australian press, "God knows where (Miley's) tongue has been." Miley fired back with a tweet that read, "Girl if ur worried abt where tongues have been good thing ur ex boo is ur EX BOO cause we ALL know where THAT (tongue) been." Proving she is not one to back down to bullies.

9 When She Called Out Kanye West On Stage

When a celebrity feud is over then it's over and there's no point digging up the past - but try explaining that to Katy Perry. Let's rewind back to 2009, Kanye West stormed the stage during the VMAs when Taylor Swift was accepting an award for Best Video. Kanye grabbed the mic from Taylor and ranted, "Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had the best video of all time."

Two years later, Katy decided to bring this up again as she and Kanye accepted a Best Collaboration award for their song, E.T. Katy turned to Kanye and teased, "Now this is the time when you want to interrupt me, Kanye." The Fade rapper looked shocked and hurt that she would choose to mock him during a moment they were both meant to be celebrating their success. Well it just proves that mean girls don't take days off.

8 When She Shaded Fifth Harmony

Katy knows that when it comes to showbiz it's not about getting to the top but staying at the top and she's clearly threatened by any kind of competition. During the VMAs in 2014, girl group Fifth Harmony won their very first award for "Artist To Watch" and they took to the stage squealing with delight.

The Firework singer took their moment as a moment to play the ultimate mean girl and she was caught on camera turning to singer Sam Smith and mouthing, "Who are they?" Just for Katy's own pop trivia knowledge, Fifth Harmony appeared on the British version of X Factor, were signed to Simon Cowell's label and topped the charts with several hit songs. They deserve the applause not the shade but they will be joining many other performers who believe Katy is a bully.

7 When She Called Out Rihanna's Smoking

It's surprisingly Rihanna is still friends with Katy after all the negative comments she's made about the Work singer to the press. When she spoke to Elle Canada she said, "I think Rihanna always looks so fresh and I'm like, 'How do you do that? We all know how much p** you smoke!' And you don't sleep because you're on Instagram at four o'clock in the morning."

She also added that RiRi was being led astray by her entourage adding, "I love her and every time I see her, I'm reminded of the light she has. I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages - they are the root of their demise. It's really unfortunate but you can't save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over."

6 When She Made A Fan Feel Like S**T

When Katy was in New York City fans gathering outside the Standard Hotel were desperate to see the star and have a chat with their idol. They all seemed to be having a nice time until Katy commented that her "number one fan" was absent - a fan who is always waiting outside hotels for her.

TMZ reported that her super fan was not impressed with being demoted to second place and said on camera, "She… just disrespected the s*** outta me". The fan explained that she had never missed a single show so was the ultimate fan but this just caused Katy to turn and walk away. It's unfair for fans to be pitted against each other especially when they have travelled the world to be by her side.

5 When She Stormed Away From Interviewers

When it comes to making interviewers feel terrible - Katy is a pro. Nobody really understood how an interview on the red carpet escalated to her storming off, but apparently the interviewer just said the wrong thing during a red carpet moment before The Brit Awards this year.

Lilah Parsons from Capital FM finish the interview with, "Katy Perry thanks so much for chatting with us. We're going to let you go." This was enough to send Katy into a fit of rage and she snapped back, "You're gonna let me go? I'm firing you!" She then pushed her microphone towards the co-host George Shelley and stormed off leaving both the presenters confused as to why they were both made to look like they had done something terrible.

4 When She Demanded Staff Not To Speak To Her

One thing any big star dreads is their tour rider being made public and all their ridiculous diva demands going on display. This is exactly what happened to Katy, when British newspaper The Daily Star managed to get hold of her rider from The Prismatic World Tour.

There were the usual requests: grapes, apples, pineapple, dried figs, broccoli, celery and peas, alongside bottles of Pinot Grigio to enjoy once the show is over. But other demands weren't so chill as a tour insider revealed, "It's crazy. Katy always seems so down to earth when you see her on TV so we didn't expect her to have so many diva demands. We've also been told that staff mustn't speak to her, especially to ask for a photo or an autograph, because it angers her before the show." Seems all her staff have a tough time trying not to catch her evil glare.

3 When She Stole Taylor Swift's Tour Dancers

Katy and Taylor Swift's now famous 'bad blood' feud all began following a fight over tour dancers. Katy stole three dancers from Swift's tour bullying them to join her and leave a tour they had already begun choreography for behind.

Swift confirmed this during an interview with Rolling Stone, she confirmed, "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, "Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?"

She added, "Then last year, the other star crossed a line. She did something so horrible, I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies. It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me." Swift then penned the hit track Bad Blood and the rest is pop culture history.

2 When She Banned Staff From Taylor Swift Concerts

Following on from the feud and in her typically controlling way, Katy decided to pass one very strict rule on all her staffers: Nobody should dare to attend a Taylor Swift concert - that includes their kids who are fans too.

An insider told OK! Magazine, "Even employees and freelancers with little kids who wanted to see Taylor felt it would be considered a betrayal. One employee was forced to have a friend take their child to one of Taylor's shows." They added, "It was sad because this parent wasn't able to be there for the kid's first concert." Even the mention of Swift's name throws Katy into a fit of anger and they are not allowed to play her music either - or they will have to face the consequences.

1 When She Danced To Kanye's "Famous"

Kanye West started a whole new Taylor Swift feud when he released his track Famous that had the lyrics, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that b***h famous." Taylor's team were so unhappy about the lyrics she even threatened to sue and during her Grammy acceptance speech said, "There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame." *cough* *cough* She means you Kanye.

In typical Katy style, she took another stab at her biggest rival by attending a Kanye concert last year. When the track Famous came on, Katy uploaded a video of herself on Snapchat pulling a disrespectful face at the mention of Taylor's name. We get it Katy - you really don't like her.
