What 12 Of Your Fave Animated Characters Would Be Like As Husbands
Get ready for a whole new world. A happily ever after. An entirely new look at some of your favorite animated characters, specifically, the men. You saw them when they were young, as princes or young professionals, trying to impress their future ladies. Where they were on their best behavior and pulling all the stops to woo, court, and eventually tie down our favorite cartoon ladies. And let's face it, each of them turned their story into a pretty great movie - we couldn't stop watching then, and we still can't stop watching now. Their younger selves were instant classics. But how did they turn out post-honeymoon? After all the excitement had died down and the cameras left? What type of men did these gentle souls turn out to be? Join us as we explore some of the most beloved men to-date (or in another life), and see how they turned out as married men.
12 Aladdin
It's true that we saw him in two sequels, Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves, but what happened to this reformed gent years later? Eventually, Aladdin had to let his past go and humbly accept himself as a former thief. People do bad things and then they can better themselves because of it. That's also a mantra that he teaches to his own children every single day. In fact, to help disgruntled youth, Aladdin hosts entire speaking events where he talks about his former illegal ways. Sure it came out as quite the scandal at first, but with Jasmine's support and Aladdin's faithful ways, the two have found a way to make his career choice work.
11 Prince Eric
This guy was pretty great from day one, right? He wasn't afraid of hard work and was able to see past a girl without legs. Plus he's committed himself to a lifetime with a redhead, which is a brave act, even if she seems pretty sweet and innocent at the time. As it turns out, Ariel and Eric's lives are fairly normal. We're even shown about it in some Disney sequels. Thankfully, he hasn't seemed to lose any of that dark handsome hair yet. So we can bask in the glory that is that great hair for years to come, even if it's just in our imaginations.
10 Snow White's Prince
Obviously we're real in-tune with the guy - he's credited as "the prince." But that also adds to his allure and mysterious nature. He shows up when he needs to, and disappears when he doesn't. Which is kind of what anyone ever wants in a man - one who knows when their presence is best accepted. It turns out, this is exactly what Snow White got. When her man isn't out hunting or riding horses, or saving her from some domestic emergency - her choice, not his - the Prince is pretty much out of sight. That is, until something else happens and he's needed.
9 Thomas O'Malley
To this day when watching The Aristocats, you think O'Malley can't be tamed, right? You think he's going to relent back to his wild days, say, "Peace kittens," and up and leave. He's really the type. But it turns out, he can be a pretty stand-up guy, err cat. He pulls out the gentlemanly charm when needed, and he gets stuff done. You know, like a good husband should. He might still wish he could still roam the streets looking for a rouge treat, he just has to do it now while wearing his best dad pants.
8 Mickey Mouse
As a long-time husband, Mickey is about as experienced at being a spouse as they come. He and Minnie are on the same page more than almost any couple around. So much so that they actually get on their couple friends' nerves. They are finishing each others sentences. They're in the same activities - they work together. Yet they never seem to tire of what the other has to offer; they don't mind being around each other 24/7. And good for them, cause if they can do it for decades on end, there's hope for the rest of us too.
7 Gaston
With all that self advertising he did toward Belle, it's no doubt that Gaston eventually got married to someone. We just don't know who that unsuspecting lady might have been. But please bless her soul. Maybe she is hard of hearing so she doesn't have to listen to all his bragging, or has the ability to fashion a nice set of ear plugs. Whatever her skills, we assume patience is one of them, because as it turns out, Gaston doesn't change a bit. His stories just get more historic as he gains the life experience to (somewhat) back them up.
6 Rodger
In 101 Dalmatians, there was no denying Rodger was a nice guy. We wanted him in the picture from day one, it was just a matter of letting the story unfold… and the dogs doing the matchmaking work. But Rodger is no ordinary husband, he's the dog father to more than 100 puppies. A huge responsibility on its own, they also have an evil lady trying to kill and skin them all - not fair, right? He handles it with greatly patient husband skills and continues to provide for his wife, kids, and puppies. Check out the sequels to see for yourself.
5 Jack Skellington
Jack and Sally eventually get married, right? They have to. It's what any good Nightmare Before Christmas fan would want. In fact, there are even a number of fan fiction books outlining that very event. The world is positive they end up wed. But how does Jack turn out? He still longs for holidays, but luckily, after years of being hostage, Sally is all about travel. The two are able to jump from land to land - keeping each other's body parts in check - and enjoying the best of the best. And avoiding the worst, whenever it should come along.
4 Beast
Continuing to grow more and more gentle in his years of a loved man, Beast turns out to be a pretty great husband for Belle. The pair live happily in their absolutely enormous castle, and create a huge book club for all their fellow readers to enjoy. Beast even helps out when it's time to put together snacks, which is also his way of deciding when there's a cheese plate and when it's time for dessert. His input on books is greatly appreciated, too. Not only by Belle, but by all attendees who happen to love his incredible collection of books.
3 Genie
After his stint in a lamp, Genie was seriously ready to get wild and crazy… and he did. He dated, played the field and then some. But then he met the lady of his dreams and finally settled down. He even returned to hang out with his friends through all of this, deciding that, power or not, friends are what makes life worthwhile. (Cue cheesy music.) That lucky lady, however, is what sent him over the edge and finally became a husband, tying him down once again, but in a far less space-restricted way. Which both he and his wife are grateful for.
2 Jiminy Cricket
Who wouldn't want to marry Jiminy? He's incredibly loyal and could never tell a lie. You'd probably get annoyed about him nagging you into doing the right thing all the time, if we're being honest. Even as a married man, Mr. Cricket is determined to do what is right at all times. His wife gets the brunt of this, but doesn't seem to mind. She knows who she married, after all. And she loves him, flaws and all - even if that "flaw" means telling too much of the truth, no matter the physical consequences.
1 The Mad Hatter
Often misunderstood, the Mad Hatter needed a lady to come along who could put up with his antics. And there just so happened to be one hat lover who loved him more than the rest, and vice versa. Together they're zany, goofy, and have as many tea parties as they can get their friends to attend. He doesn't always make sense, but she doesn't seem to mind either way. So long as he's there, making hats and drinking tea, she's on board. What a happy and odd couple, proving there just might be someone for everyone.
