What The Cast Of Titanic Looks Like Now

It's been 20 years since James Cameron's Titanic hit the big screen and changed movies as we know it. Titanic was nominated for 14 Oscars and won a record breaking 11, including Best Picture and Best Director. It grossed $1.84 billion on initial release making it the first film to hit the $1 billion mark and highest grossing film until James Cameron's Avatar came around. Basically, Titanic was and continues to be the most epic romantic disaster film of all time according to sales, critics, and the general public. No one is down on Titanic. And while Titanic has made household names of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, we can't help but wonder what happened to the rest of the cast. Welcome to our version of Titanic: Where Are They Now? The 195 minute movie starred more than just Leo and Kate. So here are the big players of Titanic, twenty years after the film's release and 22 years after filming began.

12 Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson

Oh Leo. Leonardo DiCaprio has got to be one of our favorite Hollywood leading men. He has starred in too many amazing movies to count since Titanic. And he finally got his love from the Academy when he took home an Oscar for last year's The Revenant. He's best friends with Martin Scorsese, or "Marty" as Leo likes to call him. And he's always on a yacht with a different supermodel every other weekend. Leo is clearly living his best life. Titanic set his career on fire and there was really no stopping him. At 42, Leonardo DiCaprio is no longer the young, baby faced Jack Dawson from his Titanic days. But he still has his rugged good looks. And he is putting them to use as a bona fide movie star. In addition to his acting, Leo is very involved in environmental activism and recently met with Trump to try and convince him of the real dangers of climate change.

11 Kathy Bates as Molly Brown

We remember Kathy Bates' Molly Brown as the approachable rich woman who helped Jack dress up so he could attend dinner with Rose and her family. Molly was a sweet character and didn't quite fit in with the first class snobs. Fun fact: Molly Brown was actually a real person on the Titanic. Like her character in the movie, the real Molly Brown was from new money and didn't fit in with her wealthy counterparts. She also commandeered a lifeboat with a group of other women when the Titanic was going down. Kathy Bates, now 68 years old, is most well-known for her TV work. She has been nominated for 14 Emmy awards. She won for her work on Two and a Half Men and in Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story. Kathy recently received her well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. When she's not acting, Kathy is a strong advocate for lymphedema and lymphatic disease research and funding. Kathy herself suffers from lymphedema in her arms after her double mastectomy following her ovarian cancer diagnosis.

10 Billy Zane as Caledon "Cal" Hockley

That smug look on Cal's face still makes us shudder to this day. Cal is Rose's fiance, a rich snob who is set to inherit the Pittsburgh steel fortune. Naturally, Cal becomes very jealous of Rose's relationship with Jack and even goes so far as to frame Jack for stealing, which leads to Jack being handcuffed and almost drowned. Fun fact: the role of Cal Hockley was originally offered to Matthew McConaughey. After Titanic, Billy Zane went on to play roles in shows such as Twin Peaks and Charmed. Billy has also appeared on Broadway in a production of Chicago and has a history of dating and proposing to supermodels. His current fiancee, model Candace Neil, is the mother of his two daughters, born in 2011 and 2014. Most recently, Billy Zane appeared in a KFC commercial in January 2017. He starred as a gold-colored Colonel Sanders to promote KFC's Georgia Gold Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken.

9 Frances Fisher as Ruth DeWitt Bukater

Ruth DeWitt Bukater is Rose's mother who is more concerned with social status than true love. She arranged Rose's engagement to Cal in order to secure her family's first class status. She openly despised Jack, even though he saved her daughter's life. We'd like to think that Ruth just had her daughter's best interests at heart but who knows what mama was thinking? What we do know is that Frances Fisher is looking great 20 years after the fact. Can you believe this woman is 64 years old? She looks amazing! Frances has been busy acting since Titanic starring in projects like True Crime, Laws of Attraction, Lincoln Lawyer, The Host and ABC's Resurrection. Fun fact: Frances had a romantic relationship with Clint Eastwood for six years during the 90's. While the two didn't make it as a couple, they did have a daughter, Francesca Eastwood, in 1993. While Frances has worked consistently since Titanic, her latest movie, An American Girl Story - Melody 1963: Love Has to Win, isn't going to be taking home any Oscars.

8 Bill Paxton as Brock Lovett (RIP)

Brock Lovett is from the modern portion of the Titanic movie. He's the ocean treasure hunter who is on the lookout for Rose's necklace, The Heart of The Ocean, in the Titanic wreckage. He is the one who old Rose tells the story to. Sadly, Bill Paxton, the actor who portrayed Brock Lovett, passed away recently on February 25, 2017. Bill passed away from a stroke due to surgery complications at the young age of 61. Before his untimely passing, Bill was still heavily involved in acting. Since Titanic, he had recently starred in Big Love, Hatfields, and McCoys, Edge of Tomorrow and Nightcrawler. Upon his death, Bill left behind his wife of 30 years, Louise Newbury, and two children, James and Lydia. At the time of his death, Bill Paxton was starring in the CBS crime thriller, Training Day. CBS decided to release the entirety of the season as filming had wrapped in 2016. If the show is renewed, reports say that Bill's character will not be replaced by a new actor.

7 Bernard Hill as Captain Edward James Smith

Bernard Hill played Captain Edward James Smith, Captain of the Titanic. Captain Smith, like Molly Brown, is also a historical figure who captained the actual Titanic. He planned for the Titanic to be his final voyage before retiring. In the movie, Captain Smith is shown retreating to the wheelhouse as the ship begins to sink. He dies when the windows implode from the water as he still clings to the ship's wheel. The real reports on Captain Smith's death conflict between the movie's version of the captain freezing in the water next to the sunken ship. But Bernard Hill is very much alive and well! After Titanic, Bernard starred in a number of television shows, movies, and on the stage. He is most well-known for his work in the Lord of The Rings trilogy and True Crime. In the last few years, Bernard has worked on a number of BBC miniseries. He currently resides in Suffolk, England and is enjoying the semi-retired life.

6 Victor Garber as Thomas Andrews

Thomas Andrews was the real life ship builder behind the Titanic. While lauded for his great ship building skills, Andrews was quick to sound the alarm after the Titanic struck the iceberg. He informed others that it was a mathematical certainty that the boat would sink. In the film, Andrews' last moments are in the first class smoking room berating himself for not building a stronger ship. In real life, the reports are contradictory. While some say he did spend time in the smoking room, others say he was helping with the evacuation and did escape off the boat at the last moment. Other than Titanic, Victor Garber has been all over the big screen, small screen, stage, and radio. He played Jesus in Godspell and had movie roles in Legally Blonde and Argo. Victor currently stars as Dr. Martin Stein in DC's Legends of Tomorrow. He is married to his longtime partner, model, and artist Rainer Andreesen.

5 Danny Nucci as Fabrizio De Rossi

Remember Fabrizio? He's Jack's best friend who gets to board the Titanic with him after Jack wins them tickets in a poker game. Unfortunately, Fabrizio does not make it off the Titanic alive. He doesn't get into a lifeboat and dies when one of the ship's funnels break. If you're a fan of ABC's The Fosters, Danny Nucci should look familiar to you. He currently stars as Mike Foster on the series produced by Jennifer Lopez. Before The Fosters, Danny had guest starring roles in a number of TV shows, like Castle and Arrow, and appeared in a few lesser known movies. In fact, his most impressive blockbuster movie days were back in the 90's. Between 1996 and 1997, Danny starred as a character who got killed in Titanic, Eraser, and The Rock. But since finding The Fosters in 2013, Danny has been working steadily on the series. And even though he hasn't appeared in too many blockbusters since the 90's, he has still managed to work steadily since 1984.

4 David Warner as Spicer Lovejoy

Spicer Lovejoy! What a name! And this character isn't even based on a real person, meaning James Cameron just made up this crazy name and put it into his script. We love it! Spicer is Cal's valet and bodyguard. He keeps an eye on Rose and does some spying on Cal's behalf. Spicer meets his untimely end when the Titanic splits in half and he falls into the opening. David Warner, now 75 years old, has been working as an actor since 1962. He is most well-known for his work in the Star Trek movie and TV series. David's career began on the stage in England. In recent years, he returned to the stage and has been doing audio and TV work with BBC back in his home country. Some fun facts about David: he has done voice work for seven video games over his lustrous career and his 2013 portrait hangs in London's National Portrait Gallery.

3 Suzy Amis as Lizzy Calvert

Suzy Amis plays Lizzy Calvert, Rose's granddaughter. In the film, she accompanies Rose to Brock's ship where she learns all about her grandma's crazy adventures and romance on the Titanic. The biggest fun fact about Suzy? She's married to James Cameron! Suzy and James met on the set of the Titanic and were married in 2000. They currently have three children, Claire, James Quinn, and Elizabeth. Suzy has a son, Jasper, from her first marriage. Suzy's last film was 1999's Judgment Day. After that, she retired from acting. Since then, Suzy has put most of her time into environmental activism. In 2005, she and her sister founded the first vegan K-12 school in a county of Los Angeles. In 2009 Suzy founded the Red Carpet Green Dress initiative that supports sustainable fashion on the red carpet. And in 2014, Suzy and her hubby James started Food Choice Task Force, an organization that showcases the impact of animal agriculture on climate change and the environment.

2 Alexandrea Owens as Cora Cartmell

You might not remember Cora Cartmell but she was the little girl who got to dance with Jack Dawson and made all of us instantly jealous. It turns out, like everyone on the planet, Alexandrea Owens had a crush on Leonardo DiCaprio during filming. She revealed that he used to bring her peanut butter and jam sandwiches on set. How sweet is that? Alexandrea also shared that Leo used to dance around on set to make her laugh and that dancing with him was such a great experience. Alexandrea scored the role after her mom drove her down to Mexico for an open call audition for extras in the movie. Alexandrea filmed another scene with Leo, one where her character Cora is watching him draw in his sketchbook, but it was cut from the film. These days, Alexandrea Owens is a working actress in Los Angeles. She recently appeared in two horror movies, The Sluagh and A Closer Walk with Thee.

1 Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater

Last but not least is the lovely Kate Winslett who starred as Rose DeWitt Bukater, our heroine. Rose and Jack together is what made us believe in true love. To this day, we still find ourselves wondering if there would've been a better way for them to split that door they were using as a life raft so Jack could've survived. Or course, Kate has had the most amazing career since Titanic. She's taken home Oscars, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Grammy Awards, and Emmy Awards. Kate has literally done it all! And we love that after 20 years, she and Leo are still the best of friends. They've starred in movies together and are always so cute when they run into one another on the red carpet. Kate is currently working on Woody Allen's Wonder Wheel with Justin Timberlake and Juno Temple and The Mountain Between Us with Idris Elba. Outside of acting, Kate is a wife, mother to three, and activist against bullying and the gender wage gap.
