Which Disney Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac?
The wonderful world of Disney is a big one, with almost too many characters to count, especially when you reach all the way back to the beginning. With Princesses, Princes, villains, sidekicks, animals, fairies, magic, and more, there are a LOT of Disney characters to consider when it comes to naming each one for the twelve signs of the zodiac!
So, instead of limiting ourselves to Princesses, or animals, or Princes (although we've definitely done all those before), we took on the entire Disney universe to figure out which characters best suit specific star signs! Have you always felt a strange kinship with Pumba from The Lion King that you can't quite put your finger on, or have you maybe related to Aladdin in a way that not everyone else gets? Or do you share similarly childlike and optimistic qualities like that of Frozen's snowman, Olaf? If that's the case, then this article is for you! Check to see if your sign matches some of the most beloved characters of Disney, or if some of your faves should be looked at in a whole new light.
12 Capricorn: Mulan
Capricorns are known for their impressive work ethic and determination to do whatever it takes to succeed, which is why Mulan is the obvious match for any Capricorn! Sometimes, Capricorns are the underdogs in a lot of situations, which just makes them fight that much harder - exactly like Mulan. Her need to prove herself both to her family and to the other soldiers is part of what drives her character, but she also has a strong sense of responsibility and obedience. She tries her best to live her life according to her family's wishes, before recognizing that to do so would mean she was not being true to herself. That strong sense of identity is a major Capricorn component, even as Mulan hides hers behind the false name of a male soldier (Ping).
While Capricorns have a high degree of ambition, Mulan does not join the army for herself, instead it is to spare her ageing father, which again speaks to the Capricorn's intense belief in responsibility.
11 Aquarius: LeFou
An eccentric original, those born under the sign of Aquarius are known for their fun-loving personalities and high-octane energy, just like LeFou. While most Aquarians fight for a cause, LeFou is really fighting for himself - and Gaston - until he eventually turns on him.
Eccentricity is a major component of this zodiac sign, which LeFou has in spades. His funny behaviour could be due to being stuck with Gaston many years, his reliance on his side kick, or just plain craziness, but his thirst for adventure makes him a dead ringer for the water-bearing sign. With good hearts and generally good intentions, an Aquarius is a solid friend to have around, even if they can't always say it in words. LeFou can be a hard one to pin down, like most Aquarians, since they prefer to avoid expressing their emotions, but they're always down for a good time and definitely a riot to be around!
10 Pisces: Ariel
The sign of the fish makes Ariel a natural fit for a Pisces, but that's not where the similarities end! Pisceans are notorious for daydreaming, and tend to get lost in their fantasies about being someone else, somewhere else, just like Ariel when she was imagining her life as a human on land and being “Part of Your World”. The Pisces' tendency to immediately trust others regardless of knowing them or not is obvious with this Disney Princess as well, because her romantic notions cause her to instantly fall in love with Prince Eric, despite him being a complete stranger to her.
Art, beauty, and emotions are important to a Pisces, because these things allow you to idealize a better, more beautiful world where people are kinder and gentler, which allows your sensitive and sentimental nature to really shine through. You're a sucker for love, and fall hard, and too many things can feel like the end of the world to you or the start of something amazing.
9 Aries: Hades
Hades LITERALLY has his head turn into red-hot fire when he gets angry, which pretty much sums up the hot-headed nature of the Aries! While an Aries is naturally confident and a born leader, they can also be a bit of a tyrant when given too much power, and their short fuse can lead to a lot of disasters. Even small disasters can put an Aries on edge, just like Hades, although they try to control their temper in order to appear calm, cool, and collected (while feeling anything but).
While Hades is technically less powerful than some of the other gods in Greece, like Zeus, his personality makes him the leader in a lot of areas, with his loyal companions, Pain and Panic, always at his side. He's also a fairly honest guy, even as he manipulates everyone around him. Those born under Aries are known for their commitment to keeping up their end of the bargain, and value honesty, since they're a pretty straight-forward member of the zodiac.
8 Taurus: Pumbaa
No Disney character is as much of a Taurus as Pumbaa, just look at him! Tauruses are known for being one of the lazier signs of the zodiac, simply because they enjoy the comforts of home and don't like to go out of their way to do anything. This means that Tauruses tend to have a healthy appetite, and Pumbaa has more than proved his worth in that area!
Pumbaa is also a remarkably devoted Disney character, and incredibly loving, which he shows through his ride-or-die friendship with Timon and his care of Simba throughout his youth into adulthood. He's also very loyal, like when he saves the day after yet another one of Timon's selfish acts gets him into trouble (or captured). That also shows some trademark Taurus feistiness! While Taureses tend to prefer the finer things in life, Pumbaa cares more about getting some good grub - literally - and living a relaxing life in the jungle with his pals. Chill, patient, and reliable, Pumbaa is as good a sidekick as he is a friend.
7 Gemini: Alice in Wonderland
Geminis are the sign of the twins, and their star sign can have them feeling like they're living in two worlds or two places at once. Hm, sound like any Disney character we might know?
Alice in Wonderland is definitely a Gemini, and while she is absorbed in stories, she is also very social, as we see throughout her adventures in Wonderland when she meets and talks to pretty much everyone she comes across. Curiosity is a defining trait of a Gemini, and the fact that Alice is willing to follow a random white rabbit, only to fall down a tree into Wonderland shows exactly how curious she is. While there are a lot of positive aspects to a Gemini, one of their worst traits is their indecisiveness, which Alice shows throughout her journey, when she tries to figure out what she should do, how she should get home, and whether or not she should travel any further into this mysterious new world.
6 Cancer: Olaf
Olaf is outgoing, which is rare for a Cancer, since they tend to be suspicious of strangers, but he is still a Cancer, just hear us out! He's excessively optimistic and has a childlike perspective of the world, driven by his emotions, which is very Cancer-esque. While Cancers tend to be skeptical of those they don't know, they're also incredibly loyal, in the same way Olaf is towards Anna and Elsa, repeatedly showing his devotion to them throughout the film.
Empathy is a defining characteristic of Cancers - and Olaf - owing to their sentimental, introspective nature that allows them to consider the feelings of others and treat them with extreme respect and care. With a big imagination, Cancers can find themselves daydreaming about more idealized scenarios (like Olaf with summer), and they value love above all else. In fact, if you remember correctly, it was Olaf who taught Anna the true meaning of love in Frozen!
5 Leo: Nala
Of course a lion had to be the Disney character to fall under the Leo zodiac! While Simba may be the King of the Jungle, we know that he'd be nothing without his Queen and childhood BFF, Nala. Like most Leos, Nala knows how to deal the sass, and isn't afraid to put Simba or other members of the pride in their place with her quick wit. She knows exactly how much she's accomplished and she's not shy to mention them, showing that trademark Leo lust for attention and desire to be on centre stage.
As Nala grows older, she becomes less spunky and sassy, which is unfortunate, but she's still a Leo through and through, exhibiting her understanding of the importance of responsibility and her stubbornness, like when she was the one to bring Simba back to Pride Rock. A lioness with a warm heart, Nala isn't afraid to throw down when the occasion calls for it like the fierce mama lion she is, but she's still a sweetie when it comes to her family.
4 Virgo: Cinderella
Virgos are known for their orderliness, neatness, and practicality, so of course Cinderella fits into the Virgo mould. She spends most of her own film scrubbing the floors and picking up after her stepsisters and stepmothers, and is unwillingly to make waves despite their blatant abuse of her. A hard worker with a practical streak, Cinderella uses the few resources at her disposal to try to get what she wants, and even ingratiates herself to her family in order to attend the Prince's ball. Oh, and did we mention that Virgos are known for their love of animals? That works out perfectly for Cinderella, who has an army of mice and little birds at her beck and call to help with the cleaning and sewing!
In addition to their love of animals, Virgos also take family and duty very seriously, which may explain why Cinderella put up with their crap for so long! Fortunately for her, her hard work and sweet temper allowed her to succeed in the end and finally get her much-deserved happily ever after.
3 Libra: Belle
More than being a bookworm (which could be attributed to a lot of signs), Belle is a believer in harmony. She sacrifices herself in order to save her father, and later tries to convince the townspeople that the Beast isn't a threat, just misunderstood. Libras are known for their gentleness and hatred of violence, as well as their cooperative, social nature. Throughout her time trapped in the Beast's castle, Belle makes friends with the people who have been transformed into furniture, and tries her best to tame the Beast, while slowly growing to love him. They both learn from each other as their relationship develops, which is something Libras value highly, since partnership is of the utmost importance to them in life and in romantic scenarios.
Additionally, Libras abhor conformity, and would rather be a strange individual than a normal part of the crowd. Belle's love of reading and thinking independently set her apart from the rest of the people in her quiet village, making her a textbook Libra.
2 Scorpio: Megara
The big teases of the zodiac, Scorpios like to play things hot and cold, just like Meg (or Megara) from Hercules. They also tend to hold grudges, and will keep their emotions on lockdown if they've been hurt in the past, which means they tend to use humour and sarcasm to deflect any feelings they might be catching. They're also known for their intense sex appeal, which Meg exhibits pretty blatantly for a children's movie, flirting her way into Hercules' heart before using him to suit herself. Since Scorpios are master manipulators, like Meg, they don't feel all that bad if they have to step on a few toes to get their way, because who else will look out for number one? Meg herself doesn't feel much remorse for manipulating Hercules' feelings, because she doesn't believe that his “farm boy” routine is genuine. Snarky, quick-tempered, and with an air of mystery, Megara is a true Scorpio, who loves with a fiery passion and who lives with a world weariness that belies her age.
1 Sagittarius: Aladdin
Sagittarians are known for their free-spirited nature and love of travel, and that couldn't be more true for Aladdin! A “street rat” who has spent most of his life on his own, Aladdin has already had a series of adventures with his monkey, Abu, by his side. Only a Sagittarius would be drawn in by the promise of grand adventure and exploration to put their life on the line and enter the Cave of Wonders to retrieve a mysterious lamp!
Since Sagittarians like Aladdin are so focused on travel, it's majorly helpful that he manages to find a magic carpet to ferry him around - and it becomes even more useful when he decides to show Jasmine “a whole new world”. Fun-loving and optimistic, those born under the sign of Sagittarius rarely say no to anything, because it promises new experiences, good or bad. They sometimes can't always deliver on their promises, but they do their best, and at the very least, you're pretty much guaranteed a good time no matter what happens!
